2014 }

STORY OF PROPHET
MUSA (AS) AND HARUN (AS)

MOSES IN THE BASKET

{CHAPTER 16}

Stories of the Prophet Musa (AS) Dars 2 & 3 {Click Me}

JANUARY 12 2014 / 10 RABI AL AWWAL 1435 HIJRI

BY SHAIKH ABDULLAH AL FAISAL

EDITED BY Abu Hafiza & Jansep2001

DARS 1

Musa (AS) was a messenger and Harun (AS) was a prophet and a messenger is greater than a prophet.

Both of these prophets were sent to the pharaoh who was causing difficulties for the children of Israel.

Israel = prophet Jacob

These people were distinct from the Egyptians, as the pharaoh kept the children of Israel as slaves under
gruesome circumstances.

The pharaoh had the people worshipping him instead of Allah (SWT).

The pharaoh had a God complex, so that is why he had people worshipping him instead of Allah (SWT).

Even though he was brutal with the people, there were still many people in Egypt were believers but they
kept their faith hidden because of reprisals.

They did 'taqiyyah', which means to hide your faith for fear of being killed.

You are allowed to practise taqiyyah against your enemies.

The pharaoh divided the people into groups and sects in order to hang onto power.

This is a popular strategy of all tyrants called 'divide and rule'

One night the pharaoh had a dream that a fire came from Jerusalem and burnt his kingdom in Egypt. He
woke up terrified and petrified of the dream.

Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening
(oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their
females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidun (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes,
oppressors, tyrants, etc.).

(Al-Qasas 28:4)

He gathered the wise men in Egypt to interpret his dream. The interpretation was that a boy born from
the Jews will destroy the kingdom of pharaoh.

And (remember) when We delivered you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, who were
afflicting you with a horrible torment, killing your sons and sparing your women, and therein
was a mighty trial from your Lord.

(Al-Baqarah 2:49)

In an attempt to rebel Qadr Allah (divine decree), he ordered his soldiers to kill all the boys that will be
born to the Jews.

The killing was pandemic and the wise men of Egypt said you are killing all the boys and the Jews are an
ageing population.

So by you killing all the Jewish boys, you are destroying your economy as you are killing your workforce.

So the pharaoh thought he could repel the decree of Allah (SWT) by killing the Jewish boys.

So he came up with a new strategy, one year will be of killing young Jewish boys and one year we will
spare their lives.

Harun (AS) was born in the year of sparing so his life was safe.

Among the many lessons to be learnt are the children of Jacob (AS) inhabited Egypt.
LESSON #1 PROPHET JACOB (AS) HAD MANY DESCENDENTS IN EGYPT

Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening
(oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their
females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidun (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes,
oppressors, tyrants, etc.).

(Al-Qasas 28:4)

LESSON #2 THE TYRANTS LIKE TO PICK ON ETHNIC MINORITIES TO OPPRESS

This is exactly what is happening in UK and US. The prisons are full of innocent Muslims behind bars.
Also, Muslims in Burma are being killed mercilessly.

LESSON #3 EVEN A KAAFIR CAN HAVE A TRUE DREAM AND A TRUE DREAM IS A 46TH PART
OF PROPHETHOOD

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “True dreams are one
of the forty-six parts of Prophet hood.”

[al-Bukhari (6989) and Muslim (2263)]

LESSON #4 A DICTATOR WILL DO ANYTHING TO HANG ON TO POWER, EVEN TO KILL

CHILDREN

And (remember) when We delivered you from Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, who were
afflicting you with a horrible torment, killing your sons and sparing your women, and therein
was a mighty trial from your Lord.

(Al-Baqarah 2:49)

LESSON #5 YOU NEED YOUNG PEOPLE TO MAKE AN ECONOMY THRIVE

Not an ageing population, so the wise men told the pharaoh to stop killing the young labour force and
this status quo of killing children was not sustainable.

LESSON #6 TYRANTS USE ETHNICITY TO DIVIDE THE NATION

The pharaoh broke the country into sects and groups.

Verily, Fir'aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening
(oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their
females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidun (i.e. those who commit great sins and crimes,
oppressors, tyrants, etc.).

(Al-Qasas 28:4)

Prophet Musa was born in the year of killing, so the mother of Moses was horrified about this, but Allah
(SWT) inspired her to put him in a basket and put him in the Nile

She went against her motherly instinct, but she told her daughter to keep an eye on the basket and see
where it goes and inform her of who finds the basket.

The basket ended up in the palace of the pharaoh, because in those days the river Nile ran along the
home of the pharaoh.

A servant found the basket and gave the basket to Asia who was the wife of the pharaoh.

Asia was happy to see the basket, when she saw a handsome baby boy and she cried as she was barren
and could not give birth to kids.

She told the pharaoh, lets adopt this baby as our son.

And the wife of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "A comfort of the eye for me and for you. Kill him not,
perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceive not
(the result of that).

(Al-Qasas 28:9)

Asia and pharaoh were not compatible, as Asia was a sincere believer and the pharaoh was a kaafir.

Asia was soft hearted and kind and the pharaoh were brutal and cruel so they were an odd couple.

When the pharaoh saw Asia cry, he got shocked and so the pharaoh agreed to adopt Musa as a son.

Musa (AS) refused all the breasts of the women in the city, so Asia got worried, will my newly adopted
baby survive as he is refusing to take suck from these wet nurses.

However, the sister of Musa (AS) told Asia she knows someone whose breast Moses (AS) will not refuse.
So the sister of Moses told her mother that the queen of Egypt has summoned you to the palace.
Musa (AS) accepted his mother's breast and so the pharaoh asked the mother of Musa why did this child
refuse; all other breasts but accept yours. So who are you?

The mother of Musa (AS) said, her milk was sweet milk and all children like sweet milk so no child
refused her milk. So the pharaoh was convinced with the story.

Asia was overjoyed and made the mother of Musa the wet nurse of Musa.

So Allah (SWT) reunited mother and son.

And We had already forbidden (other) foster suckling mothers for him, until she (his sister
came up and) said: "Shall I direct you to a household who will rear him for you, and sincerely
they will look after him in a good manner?"

(Al-Qasas 28:12)

Asia is one of the four special women of paradise, she was pious and believed in the messenger ship of
Musa (AS).

There is a famous hadith that Asia will be one of the wives of the prophet Muhammad (SAWS), but the
authenticity of this hadith is not known.

Musa (AS) grew up to become the prince of Egypt.

The pharaoh killed thousands of babies to kill Musa (AS), but Allah (SWT) caused the basket to come to
the palace of pharaoh and make Musa (AS) the adopted son of pharaoh.

So Allah (SWT) shows that He is al Qadeer. He has power to do all things

LESSON #7 WHEN POWER AND WEALTH ARE IN HANDS OF EVIL PEOPLE THEY WILL ABUSE
THE POWER AND THE WEALTH

Narrated By Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "Allah will hold the whole earth,
and roll all the heavens up in His Right Hand, and then He will say, 'I am the King; where are
the kings of the earth?'"

[Al-Bukhari (7382) and Muslim (2787)]

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Allah the Almighty said, ‘Pride is
My cloak and greatness is My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of
them, I shall cast into the Hell Fire.’”
[Sunan Abu Dawud - Classed as Sahih by Shaykh al-Albaani]

LESSON #8 THE NATURAL INSTINCT OF WOMEN IS THAT THEY LOVE CHILDREN

Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver
(wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the
present world's life; but Allah has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.)
with Him.

(Aali Imran 3:14)

And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is
a mighty reward.

(Al-Anfal 8:28)

Asia cried tears of joy because she wanted a son but she was barren.

LESSON #9 THE BOY THE PHARAOH WANTED TO KILL, HE ADOPTED THE SAME BOY AS A
SON

This is because Allah (SWT) has power to do all things (Allah is al Qadeer).

LESSON #10 THE MOTHER OF MUSA (AS) REACTED AGAINST HER MOTHERLY INSTINCT
BECAUSE SHE WAS INSPIRED BY ALLAH

And We inspired the mother of Musa (Moses), (saying): "Suckle him [Musa (Moses)], but
when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily! We shall
bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers."

(Al-Qasas 28:7)

LESSON #11 SOMETIMES IT IS HALAL TO LIE ON SOME OCCASIONS, TO SAVE YOUR LIFE,

OR THE LIVES OF YOUR CHILDREN OR THE MUSLIMS

Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people
speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the
narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to
her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them)
[Sahih Muslim, Book 32, Hadith #6303]

The mother of Musa (AS) made the excuse of her milk being sweet when asked why Musa (AS) accepted
her breast and not others.

When Musa (AS) became an adult male, Allah (SWT) said, 'We blessed him with knowledge and wisdom'

And when he attained his full strength, and was perfect (in manhood), We bestowed on him
Hukman (Prophet hood, right judgement of the affairs) and religious knowledge [of the
religion of his ancestors i.e. Islamic Monotheism]. And thus do We reward the Muhsinun (i.e.
good doers - see the footnote of V.9:120).

(Al-Qasas 28:14)

One day, Musa (AS) saw two people fighting, one was from his shia (group) and the other was from the
shia of the enemy.

The Jew called out to Musa (AS), as Musa (AS) was a Jew by ethnicity.

All the prophets came from the loins from Abraham (AS), the prophet is either from the lineage of Ishaq
(AS) or from the lineage of Ishmael (AS).

Musa (AS) came to the rescue of the Jew and punched the Egyptian once but his intention was not to kill
him.

But the one punch that Musa (AS) gave the Egyptian caused the Egyptian to die, so Musa (AS) buried the
man in the sand and it was a secret as no one else knew where the man went.

The next day the same Jew got into trouble again.

And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people, and he found there two men
fighting, - one of his party (his religion - from the Children of Israel), and the other of his
foes. The man of his (own) party asked him for help against his foe, so Musa (Moses) struck
him with his fist and killed him. He said: "This is of Shaitan's (Satan) doing, verily, he is a
plain misleading enemy."

(Al-Qasas 28:15)

The next day, the same Jew got into a fight with another Egyptian and shouted out to Musa to come help
him but Musa (AS) refused to help him,
Then when he decided to seize the man who was an enemy to both of them, the man said:
"O Musa (Moses)! Is it your intention to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? Your aim is
nothing but to become a tyrant in the land, and not to be one of those who do right."

(Al-Qasas 28:19)

The Jew thought he had Musa (AS) to back him up, but when Musa (AS) said to him you are a
troublemaker by calling him a 'fattaan', so I will not help you. the Jew then made mention the accidental
murder of the Egyptian by Musa (AS).

The news spread throughout Egypt that Musa (AS) killed an Egyptian.

The pharaoh faced a dilemma, do I defend my adopted son or shall I defend the murdered Egyptian?

The decision that was made in the consultation was that Musa (AS) should be killed, however someone
overheard the conversation and the man felt obliged to inform Musa (AS) of this decision.

And there came a man running, from the farthest end of the city. He said: "O Musa (Moses)!
Verily, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you, to kill you, so escape. Truly, I am to
you of those who give sincere advice."

(Al-Qasas 28:20)

When the man came with this news. Musa (AS) ran away to save his life.

LESSON #12 HE WHO KEEPS A SECRET CAN SAVE HIS LIFE

The mother of Musa (AS) was able to keep her identity as a secret.

The mother of Musa (AS) was very wise, because Allah (SWT) gave her the tawfiq ability to keep the
secret.

LESSON #13 ITS YOUR NATURAL INSTINCT TO COME TO THE RESCUE OF YOUR

GROUP/CREED

but that doesn't mean you love hindus and Sikhs over black and white Muslims.

LESSON #14 IN LIFE, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO USE OTHERS TO FIGHT FOR THEM
THEIR BATTLES

LESSON #15 IN LIFE, PEOPLE CAN BECOME VERY UNGRATEFUL

They forget very easily, what you do for them

LESSON #16 PEOPLE LIKE TO MAKE TROUBLE WHEN THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A STRONG
PERSON TO FIGHT FOR THEM

The Jews are like that

they want to invade all the countries in the middle east, because they have America to fight their battles.

LESSON #17 JEWS WILL TURN ON YOU WHEN YOU REFUSE TO FIGHT THEIR BATTLES

Just like the Jew turned against Musa (AS) when he refused to help the Jew against the Egyptian at the
second time.

LESSON #18 MUSA (AS) WAS VERY STRONG BECAUSE ALLAH (SWT) WAS GROOMING HIM
FOR PROPHETHOOD

LESSON #19 GOOD PEOPLE WERE LIVING IN EGYPT WHO WERE BELIEVERS BUT WERE
HIDING THEIR IMAAN, BY DOING TAQIYYA

The man came to Musa (AS) to escape from Egypt as he overheard the pharaoh saying he was going to
kill Musa (AS).

LESSON #20 THE REAL MAN TAKES SIDES WITH THE OPPRESSED AND NOT THE OPPRESSOR

And there came a man running, from the farthest end of the city. He said: "O Musa (Moses)!
Verily, the chiefs are taking counsel together about you, to kill you, so escape. Truly, I am to
you of those who give sincere advice."

(Al-Qasas 28:20)

LESSON #21 ONE OF THE 6 SINCERE ADVICES ARE THAT YOU HAVE TO GIVE SINCERE
ADVICE TO YOUR MUSLIM BROTHER

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (RA) as saying: Six are the rights of a Muslim over
another Muslim. It was said to him: Allah's Messenger, what are these? Thereupon he said:
When you meet him, offer him greetings; when he invites you to a feast accept it, when he
seeks your council give him, and when he sneezes and says: "All praise is due to Allah," you
say Yarhamuk Allah (may Allah show mercy to you); and when he falls ill visit him; and when
he dies follow his bier
[Sahih Muslim (4/1705) No. 2162, Musnad Ahmad (2/372) No. 8832, al-Adab al-Mufrad al-
Bukhari No. 925]

LESSON #22 A WORD TO THE WISE IS SUFFICIENT

When Musa (AS) heard the advice of the person, Musa (AS) did not come with any ifs, buts, why etc.

LESSON #23 A MUSLIM SHOULD TIE HIS CAMEL

Anas ibn Malik reported that someone asked, “O Messenger of Allah, shall I tether it and
trust in Allah or untie it and place trust in Allah”? He said, “Tie it and trust in Allah."

[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/668) No. 2517, Sahih Ibn Hibban (2/510) No. 731, Shu'ab al-Iman al-
Bayhaqi (2/428) No. 1161]

Musa (AS) ran away from Egypt and then put his trust in Allah (SWT), he tied his camel.

LESSON #24 IT IS COMPULSORY FOR YOU TO LEAVE DARUL HARB IF YOUR LIFE IS IN
DANGER

Any country that locks up or kills innocent Muslims is darul harb (i.e. Egypt)

Darul harb = Land of the Enemy

There are dars. darul kufr, darul harb and darul islam

Verily! As for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as
they stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they
(angels) say (to them): "In what (condition) were you?" They reply: "We were weak and
oppressed on earth." They (angels) say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you
to emigrate therein?" Such men will find their abode in Hell - What an evil destination!

(An-Nisa 4:97)

When your life is in danger then to leave becomes fardh

THE STORY OF PROPHET

MUSA (AS) PART 2

MOSES'S FLIGHT FROM EGYPT

JANUARY 13 2014 / 12 RABI AL AWWAL 1435 HIJRI

DARS 2

When Musa (AS) did not help the Jew in overpowering the Egyptian, the Jew turned 'super grass', which
means he became an informant.

The Jew told the people that Musa (AS) killed the Egyptian the day earlier, so Musa (AS) had to run away
from Egypt.

Almost all of the Quran was about the story of Musa (AS).

Hijra to leave Darul Harb is compulsory on you, when your life is in danger.

Verily! As for those whom the angels take (in death) while they are wronging themselves (as they
stayed among the disbelievers even though emigration was obligatory for them), they (angels) say
(to them): "In what (condition) were you?" They reply: "We were weak and oppressed on earth."
They (angels) say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to emigrate therein?"
Such men will find their abode in Hell - What an evil destination!

(An-Nisa 4:97)

LESSON #24 IT IS COMPULSORY FOR YOU TO LEAVE DARUL HARB IF YOUR LIFE IS IN
DANGER

Musa (AS) left Egypt to save his life.

LESSON 25# MUSA (AS) ACTED UPON A HADITH, WHICH IS AHAD

One person transmitted the news to him that they plotted to kill him

A member of hizb at tahrir would say "I don't believe you, I will never leave Egypt"

Because they don't act upon news which is Ahad, which means one person transmitted it to you or more

Musa (AS) acted upon a Hadith, which is Ahad to save his life

It took him 8 days to reach Midian, midway between Egypt and Syria his only companion was Allah
(SWT) and his only provision was Taqwa

And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is At-Taqwa (piety,
righteousness, etc.). So fear Me, O men of understanding!

(Al-Baqarah 2:197)

When you are on a journey the best thing you can take with you is Taqwa

When Musa (AS) reached the Midian, he saw, shepherds watering their animals and two beautiful girls
were there but they stayed away from the men

While the shepherds were watering, the animals Musa (AS) went to the girls and asked them "why aren't
you watering animals" the young girl said we couldn't push them to water the animals

"We can't push among men to water our animals"

Then the elder girl said "we are waiting for the shepherds to water their animals then we water ours"

Musa (AS) was taken aback to see girls working as shepherds (shepherdess)

He asked why they were working as shepherds; they said "our father is old and feeble so we have to do
it"

Musa (AS) said "I will water the animals for you" he went and muscled in at the well and watered the
animals for the iris

And when he went towards (the land of) Madyan (Midian) he said: "It may be that my Lord guides
me to the Right Way." And when he arrived at the water of Madyan (Midian) he found there a
group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping
back (their flocks). He said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: "We cannot water (our
flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a very old man." So he watered
(their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: "My Lord! Truly, I am in need of
whatever good that You bestow on me!"

(Al-Qasas 28:22-24)

This is one of the famous Du'a of prophet Musa (AS)

He went under a tree and made the above dua

When the girls went home, they left early and their father was surprised to see them early, so he asked
them why they said "we found a man at the well and he helped, watered our animals for us"

And because of that, we are able to return home extra early

The father was impressed (in some books he was Shu'ayb) so he sent one of the girls to get Musa (AS)
so that he can thank him personally

When the girl came, the girl said to Musa, (AS) "my father is inviting you to come home to thank you
personally" Musa (AS) accepted the invitation and when he was walking with the girl he walked in front
and the girl walked in the back because he did not want to notice her figure

In the West they say "ladies first" because they want to notice her figure and the girl would tell him which
way to go

innuendo = means to drop a hint, for example in the West a woman invites you for coffee, she may be
inviting you to Zina

Musa (AS) arrived in the house of the old man (shaikh = 1: old man, 2 scholars, 3 leader of a tribe)

When the old man received Musa (AS), he asked him why he came to Midian, Musa (AS) answered "I
was the son of the Pharaoh; I punched an Egyptian he died accidentally"

he did not lie, he told the truth and the old man said to him "don't be afraid"

Then there came to him one of the two women, walking shyly. She said: "Verily, my father calls
you that he may reward you for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and
narrated the story, he said: "Fear you not. You have escaped from the people who are Zalimun
(polytheists, disbelievers, and wrong-doers)."

(Al-Qasas 28:25)

So the old man made him feel comfortable and welcomed him even though Musa (AS) killed a man
The old man didn't take sides with the tyrants, oppressors taghut, he sided with Musa (AS)

The man Musa (AS) killed was an Egyptian soldier, he killed him accidentally

Musa (AS) killed a Kafir soldier of the taghut (tyrant) then the girl interjected in the conversation and said
"hire him to work for us"

And said one of them (the two women): "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to
hire is the strong, the trustworthy." He said: "I intend to wed one of these two daughters of mine
to you, on condition that you serve me for eight years, but if you complete ten years, it will be (a
favour) from you. But I intend not to place you under a difficulty. If Allah will, you will find me one
of the righteous."

(Al-Qasas 28:26-27)

Musa (AS) accepted, then the father said "I will marry you to one of my daughters, but you should work
for me for 8 years"

He proposed to marry him to his daughter, Musa (AS) did not propose when you are a pious man, women
should propose to you

Musa (AS) accepted the proposal so the Mahr is for him to work for 8 years the father said "if you do an
extra 2 years it will be like sadaqa but I won't impose it on you"

When Musa (AS) got home, Allah (SWT) provided for him a home with love and respect

After hardship comes ease, he was in the desert

The father asked the girl "how can you tell that Musa (AS) is trustworthy when you met him briefly?"

She said "because he lowered his gaze when he was with me" these are the noble qualities of a believer.

Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their
private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of
what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things),
and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment
except only that which is apparent (like palms of hands or one eye or both eyes for necessity to
see the way, or outer dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to draw their veils all
over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their
adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their
husband's sons, their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim)
women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old
male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex And let
them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg
Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.

(An-Nur 24:30-31)

A woman can tell when a man is good and when a man is evil, this is why Abu Hanifa (RA) said she could
marry herself

The Hanafi (RA) opinion is that a woman can marry herself she doesn't need a Wali it's her life

but the Malik (RA) say she needs a Wali (Shafi'i, Hanbali as well)

for the daughter of the shaikh to say to her father "hire him because he is trustworthy" and "he is strong" it
means a woman can tell who is good/bad.

Ibn Masoud said, “There are three people with the sharpest firasah. The Egyptian who bought
Yusuf and then said to his wife, ‘Make his stay comfortable, maybe he will profit for us or we shall
adopt him as a son.’ [12:21]. The other was the daughter of Shuaib, who said to her father with
regards to Musa, ‘Hire him!’ [28:26] And Abu Bakr, for he appointed Omar as his successor.”
Another narration includes the wife of Pharaoh who said about Musa, “A comfort of the eye for me
and for you. Kill him not, perhaps he may be of benefit to us, or we may adopt him as a son.’ [28:9]
–

[The Station of Firasah by Ibn ul-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, from Madarij As-Salikeen (vol.2, p.464)]

Three people are good with Firaasa (deep insight and inner tuition)

Jacob (AS) proposed to Rachel but the father tricked him and married him to Libya the shariah evolves
from time to time.

The only thing that doesn't change is Tawheed

When shaikh was studying, there is no abrogating / abrogated verses for Tawheed

Abrogation exists only for shariah not Tawheed

Musa (AS) married the daughter of Shuayb and looked after her for 10 years

Buraida reported that the Messenger of Allah said to Ali [Allah be pleased with him]: “O Ali! don't
allow your glance to follow a glance, because the first [glance] is forgiven and not the second.

[Narrated by Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Imam Ahmad]

LESSON FROM STORY OF MUSA (AS) IN THE MIDIAN

LESSON #26: SHYNESS IS A BRANCH OF IMAN AND IS RESPECTED

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Hayaa is part of Imaan and Imaan
is in Paradise. Lewdness is part of hardness of heart and hardness of heart is in the Fire.”
[Musnad Ahmad (2/501) No. 10519]

The daughters of Shuayb (AS) were shy

They did not interact with the men at the well because they said to Musa (AS) "we don't push against the
men" to water their flock

LESSON 27: TO HAVE A MAN IN YOUR HOME, IN YOUR LIFE, IS A BARAKA FROM ALLAH (SWT)

The two girls told Musa (AS) their father was old and feeble that's why they were working as shepherds

LESSON 28: WHEN YOU BEG, BEG FROM ALLAH (SWT)

So he watered (their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: "My Lord! Truly, I
am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!"

(Al-Qasas 28:24)

When you are in a desperate situation you should only beg from Allah (SWT), people find you a burden
when you beg from them

On the authority of Abu al-’Abbas Sahl bin Sa’ad as-Sa’idee (RA) who said: A man came to the
Prophet (SAW) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, direct me to an act which, if I do it, [will cause]
Allah to love me and the people to love me." So he (SAW) said, "Renounce the world and Allah will
love you, and renounce what the people possess and the people will love you." A hasan hadith
related by Ibn Majah and others with good chains of authorities.

LESSON 29: HELP YOUR MUSLIM SISTERS WHEN YOU SEE THEM IN NEED

*Always offer help to your sisters, be a gentleman

The believers, men and women, are Auliya' (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one
another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders
one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all
that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey
Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

(At-Tawbah 9:71)
LESSON 30: WOMEN ARE IMPRESSED WITH PHYSICAL STRENGTH AND SPIRITUAL STRENGTH

A woman will never marry a man who is impotent she will only marrying him without knowledge and this is
a reason for divorce

And said one of them (the two women) : "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to
hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

(Al-Qasas 28:26)

Abu Hurayra said that the Messenger of Allah (SAW), said, "The strong believer is better and more
beloved to Allah than the weak believer although there is good in each. Desire that which will
bring you benefit, and seek help from Allah and do not give way to incapacity. If something
happens to you, do not say, 'If only I had done such-and-such.' Rather say, 'The decree of Allah.
He does what He will.' Otherwise you will open yourself up to the action of Shaytan."

[Sahih Muslim, Book 33, Hadith #6441]

Women go crazy when they see a six pack, it shows physical strength so the daughter of Shuayb (AS),
she knew Musa (AS) was strong because there was a rock at the well that took 10 men to move it.

They were impressed that Musa (AS) moved it by himself

The father of the girls did not rebuke Musa (AS) for killing the Egyptian soldier

there are three reasons why:

LESSON 31: SHUAYB DID NOT REBUKE MUSA (AS) FOR KILLING A MAN

1- Egypt was darul harb

2- it was by accident

3- he was as a prophet (shuayb) was obliged to practice Al Wala Wal Bara

"A Kafir and one who killed him will never be together in the Fire."

[Sahih Muslim, Abu Dawud]

Shuayb (AS) had to practice al wala wal bara, reject the Taghoot

"Fear you not. You have escaped from the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, and
wrong-doers)."

(Al-Qasas 28:25)

A lot of you might have said "you are wanted, a fugitive, I don't want to harbor you" 99% of people would
say this.

How they are, they can't understand kufr bi taghoot, al wala wal bara

Today the majority would call police and hand you over

Egypt was Darul Harb (abodes)

There are 3 dars 1- Darul Islam, Darul Kufr, Darul Harb

Darul Harb, Land of War, UK, USA, Israel, Russia etc

A land where they are killing Muslims, imprisoning innocent Muslims

Darul Kufr, and Darul Islam

There are 3 dars 1- Darul Harb, Darul Kufr, Darul Islam

Most Muslims are hypocrites and cannot cope with the topic "Darul harb"  they love the Kuffar, taghoot.

When you borrow money from the Kuffar Banks in Darul Harb, you don't have to pay it back you can
leave with it.

Most Muslims would think shaikh is "mad man" because they love the kuffar

LESSON 32: TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Shuayb was impressed with his daughters because they returned home early

Allah (SWT) swore by time in the Quran because it's important

It is haram to waste time

By Al-'Asr (the time) Verily! Man is in loss, (Al-'Asr 103:1-2)

Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend
one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-
Ma'ruf)which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-
Munkar)which Allah has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings,
harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah's Cause during preaching His religion of
Islamic Monotheism or Jihad, etc.) (Al-'Asr 103:3)

The wasters are the brothers of shaitan

Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatin (devils), and the Shaitan (Devil Satan) is ever
ungrateful to his Lord.

(Al-Isra 17:27)

LESSON 33: A PROPHET TOOK THE ADVICE OF A WOMAN

When she said "hire him"

The best person you can hire is the man who is physically and spiritually strong

And said one of them (the two women) : "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to
hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

(Al-Qasas 28:26)

There is Baraka in the advice of a woman

The prophet Muhammad (SAWS) took the advice of Umm salamah (RAA) in the treaty of Ubaydiyyah

The Prophet (SAWS), took the advice of Umm Salamah in the treaty of Hudaibiyyah

Um Salama said, "O the Prophet of Allah! Do you want your order to be carried out? Go out and
don't say a word to anybody till you have slaughtered your sacrifice and call your barber to shave
your head." So, the Prophet went out and did not talk to anyone of them till he did that.

[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 50, Hadith #891]

LESSON 34: IT IS HARAM TO HAND OVER YOUR MUSLIM BROTHER TO THE TAGHOOT

Shuayb protected Musa (AS) from Pharaoh

Allah's Apostle said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one.
People asked, "O Allah's Apostle! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we
help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

[Bukhari book 43, no. 624]

LESSON 35: AFTER HARDSHIP COMES EASE

So verily, with the hardship, there is relief, (Ash-Sharh 94:5)

Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship
cannot overcome two reliefs). (Ash-Sharh 94:6)

LESSON 36: IF YOU FEAR ALLAH (SWT), HE WILL PROVIDE A MAKHRAJ FOR YOU

Makhraj means a breakthrough to come out of your difficulty

And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from
every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever
puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed
Allah has set a measure for all things.

(At-Talaq 65:2-3)

When Musa (AS) was in the desert, he would have never imagined that Allah (SWT) would give him a
home with love and respect

LESSON 37: AS A MUSLIM FATHER, YOU MUST FIND PIOUS HUSBAND FOR YOUR DAUGHTERS

Very few Muslim fathers approach a pious brother to propose he marry their daughter

they rather that their daughters commit zina because they are jahil

Umar Ibn Al Khattab (RA) approached Abu Bakr (RA)

Uthman (RA) was approached first, he said he did not need a wife

Abu Bakr (RA) said "the reason why I didn't marry her because the prophet was interested and he
confided that he was interested"

Shuayb proposed Musa (AS) to his daughter because he was a real Muslim

Muslim parents are delusional who deny that their daughter has sexual needs

LESSON 38: HEALTH IS WEALTH

The daughter said "hire him because he is strong"

And said one of them (the two women) : "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to
hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

(Al-Qasas 28:26)

He is blessed with spiritual and physical strength

if you are HIV positive and health is depreciating, you will not get hired

Diabetic, has to take two injections a day...

Don't abuse your health with smoking cigarettes, alcohol

Smokers and drinkers are impotent, the wife has a right to divorce them

LESSON 39: DAUGHTER OF SHUAYB HAD FIRAASA

Firaasa means deep insight and foresight

And said one of them (the two women) : "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to
hire is the strong, the trustworthy."

(Al-Qasas 28:26)

LESSON 40: MUSA (AS) WENT TO MIDIAN IT WAS A MATTER OF IJTIHAD

WHEN YOU ARE MAKING HIJRA CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION CAREFULLY

Don't go to a place that is famous for oppression

And when he went towards (the land of) Madyan (Midian) he said: "It may be that my Lord guides
me to the Right Way."

(Al-Qasas 28:22)

Ijtihad means your own independent judgement

When you make hijra you can't just pack your bags, you might end up with worse people

Many times in UK, Muslims make hijra to the wrong places and have to run back to UK

LESSON 41: MAHR WAS AN ESTABLISHED PRACTICE LONG BEFORE PROPHET MUHAMMAD

(SAWS)
Because Jacob had to work 7 years for Rachel

Musa (AS) had to work 8 years for his wife, daughter of Shuayb

So the Mahr to give a woman her Mahr was an established custom long before the advent of Muhammad
(SAWS)

He said: "I intend to wed one of these two daughters of mine to you, on condition that you serve
me for eight years, but if you complete ten years, it will be (a favour) from you. But I intend not to
place you under a difficulty. If Allah will, you will find me one of the righteous."

(Al-Qasas 28:27)

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (SAW) said: “The one who gets married with the intention not to
pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one who borrows money with the intention not to
pay back is a thief.”

[Ibn Hibban in ‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]

Any man who gets married to a woman with the intention not to pay her Mahr, he is fornication, any man
who borrows money with the intention not to return he is a thief.

'The best woman is the one whose mahr is the easiest to pay.'

[Al-Haythami, Kitab an-Nikah 4:281]

Eight years of hard labour, the mahr paid by Musa (AS) was very big.

LESSON 42: MUSA (AS) WAS KIND HEARTED, EVEN THOUGH THE MAHR WAS FOR 8 YEARS, HE
WORKED 10 YEARS
