process based on “design-thinking” problem
solving methodology.

■ An annual online global platform for students to
share about their social-impact projects (or

• Judges review the set of 20 stories assigned to them and score each story based on
the Feel-Imagine-Do-Share (FIDS) framework. Review and scoring are done online
Sept 8 at each Judge’s own pace between this period.

• The system will automatically tabulate the stories with the highest average score as
given by each group of Judges. Top 10 teams will be notified.
Oct 4

• The number of teams selected to represent Malaysia to the global gathering will
depend on the amount of funding secured.

I CAN CHILDREN'S GLOBAL SUMMIT 2018

In December 2018, 2 Malaysian school teams had the opportunity to


showcase their stories of change in Taiwan. REAL International School
from Kuala Lumpur and SMK Lubok Buntar from Kedah presented their
local stories: bullying prevention and social spaces to 1,000 children from
around the world who presented their projects based on the FIDS
methodology.

WHAT IT IS
A 4-day international gathering of more than 2,000 students from 60+ countries
empowered with the I CAN mindset. It serves as a global platform to showcase their
stories of change and the ways they have positively impacted their communities across
the world.

The celebration is also packed with talks, workshops and exhibitions especially
designed to further instil in children the belief and courage that they have the ability to
take action and make the world a better place.

WELCOME EVENT
Meet & Greet with the Mayores of Rome
26th November 2019
Best 2 teams will have the opportunity to attend the Welcome Event with the Mayores of Rome

DAY 1 I CAN DAY


26th November 2019
The 4,000 children, also accompanied by 15,000-20,000 students from Italy, gather at the Piazzadel Popolo - making visible their power, potential
and ideas for a better world.

The children will be engaging in flash mobs, dancing, singing and chanting during the gathering.
Celebrating PROGRAM BRIEF
I CAN
DAY 2 & 3 LEARN & SHARE
28th & 29th November 2019
These two days will be showcasing the I CAN solutions of the children (10 each morning), punctuated by performances and energizers.

The afternoons will have sports, arts and craft and hands on activities for the children, alongside think tank workshops with a 10 students and teachers
to capture data about the impact of the ICAN Mindset

DAY 4 CLOSING
30th November 2019
The final day will be presented and anchored by the children themselves, to include:
■ Videos of the children’s solutions, one for each Sustainable Development Goal
■ Marketplace champions make/explain their pledge to scale the children’s solutions
■ Videos/speeches from other dignitaries from around the world congratulating the children
■ Presentation of ‘instamoments’ from the past 3 days
■ World class performances such as Ariana Grande
■ Speech by the Pope addressing the children
