DANCE TEACHER
tayleralogue@gmail.com
Brookings to Broadway Dance Company/September 2015 – May 2019

2037 Kansas Drive I taught ballet, tap, and jazz to young students at a local studio. Working with
Brookings, SD 57006 these girls allowed me to see the progress each makes over the year. I had many
opportunities to differentiate instruction because each girl was at a different
skill level. I worked with each individually and as a group. This experience taught
me classroom management. While I was not in a “normal” classroom setting, I
CORE managed the students’ behaviors and learning effectively, or class time was
wasted.

Classroom Management SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION (SI) LEADER – COLLEGE ALGEBRA
Dakota State University/August 2018 – May 2019
Leadership
As a SI leader, my goal was to increase student retention and success within the
Collaboration targeted course. I designed lesson plans based off the lecture’s content using
Organization different research-based strategies to improve student comprehension. I held
three, hour long sessions each week. During these sessions, I led the students
Planning through reviews, activities, and mini lessons based on their needs. I provided
Student Motivation time during the lessons for student input and choice. I valued their feedback as
well as their questions. College students are not always eager to provide
possible answers or as questions; to address this, I utilized “wait time” and non-
verbal signals (thumbs up/down to show understanding, slow down, complete a
TECHNICAL problem, or repeat in a different way).
