Cruz, Zambales Dear Mayor, Rabies is a fatal disease in developing countries where animal immunization and control of dogs are inadequate. In view of the 100% case fatality of human rabies, the prevention of rabies infection after the exposure is of utmost importance. . The Department of Health, having committed itself to the prevention of human deaths due to rabies, provides vaccines for the post exposure treatment through the Animal Bite Treatment Centers. The World Health Organization has also issued new organizations related to rabies exposure management or Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), Given this available information, the guideline in animal bite management is revised in order to provide more cost effective strategies for rabies prevention and control thus the DOH-Regional Office 3 will conduct “Regional Updates and Implementation Review on Rabies Prevention and Control Program “, In line with this, may we invite, MS.
