- In order to install the printer driver, you must log into the system as
an Administrator.
- If the software application supports print copies, you can set up with
either the application software or the printer driver.
- When setting scaling with an application, make sure the printer driver
scaling is set to 100%.
- If Page Layout Printing is selected under Page Layout on the Layout sheet,
do not use the collate function in the software application.
Click the Collate option on the Layout sheet to use collated printing.
- When printing reduced scaling color image data, 1 dot wide lines and points
may not be printed.
- Some applications may not print lines with almost horizontal angles
correctly. If this occurs, redraw lines horizontally.
- When binder printing with the Microsoft Binder, click off the check box
for executing binder printing as one job. Each print job will be processed
as a separate print job.
- For some applications, watermarks may print incorrectly for the first
printing.
- If you change the printer name in the General sheet of the printer driver's
Properties dialog box, Profiles registered in the print driver become
ineffective, so store your customized settings in a file before changing the
printer name.
After changing the printer name, load the stored file.
- High resolution printing requires a large amount of computer memory.
If there is very little computer memory available or you are using a large
amount of application software, the application software may not operate
normally.
In this event, restart Windows and shut down any applications that are not
being used when restarting printing.
If printing still does not proceed normally, select a lower resolution in
the Print Quality setting in the Main sheet.
- When using a printer connected with USB, do not use Standby mode.
You can set Standby mode in Power Options in Control Panel.
- With Microsoft Excel, when Collate has a check mark and you perform
multiple sheet printing or Entire workbook printing with different
printing settings for each sheet, if you perform Page Layout Printing,
the results may not be those intended.
- When there is a large volume of print data, the printer may time out during
printing and printing may not be possible. If this occurs,
open the Advanced sheet in the printer driver Properties dialog box and
tick the Start printing after last page is spooled checkbox in Spool print
documents so program finishes printing faster.
- Thin line, gradation etc. printing may not be possible. If this occurs,
open the printer driver's Properties dialog box from Print in the
application software's File menu, and try printing following the steps
below.
1. Remove the check from Open Preview When Print Job Starts in the
Main sheet.
2. Remove the check from Page Layout in the Layout sheet.
- When there is a large volume of print data, the printer may take time out
during printing, and printing may not be possible. If this occurs, extending
the Job Time Out set time with the printer's operation panel may enable
printing.
- You may not be able to print data for large size media with
Adobe Illustrator and other software. If this occurs, try printing
after performing the following.
- Open the Main sheet and untick the Open Preview checkbox.
- Increase the amount of memory allotted to virtual memory.
- Place or remove a check from the ON/OFF check box in Bitmap Printing
in the Print dialog box when using Adobe Illustrator.
- When installing this software from the installer, if you fail to follow the
screen instruction to restart your computer, Microsoft Office may operate
incorrectly.
If this occurs, restart your computer.
- If one printer is used with both USB and network connection, please install
the Canon imagePROGRAF Status Monitor.
- For some applications, when using functions such as Scaling,
N Pages per Sheet, and Edging, output with graphics data may diverge
from the original.
- Color settings dialog box can be performed for each object. However,
with some software applications the print results may not be what you
expect after text and graphic data handling.
- When printing data that includes an extremely large image from a computer
with little available memory, it may take time to print, a portion of the
image may be missing, or it may otherwise not print properly.
If this occurs, try printing after performing the following.
- Increase the amount of memory allotted to your computer.
- Increase your OS's virtual memory.
- The Free Layout function under Page Layout on the Layout sheet and the
"Canon imagePROGRAF Preview" function cannot be used in the following cases:
-When Pause Printing is selected after right-clicking the printer icon
during a print job
-When Use Printer Offline is selected after right-clicking the printer
icon during a print job
-At any time other than the time selected with Available from/To on
the Advanced sheet of the printer properties dialog during a print job
-When Enable advanced printing features is switched off on
the Advanced sheet of the printer properties dialog during a print job
-When Print directly to the printer is enabled on the Advanced sheet
of the printer properties dialog during a print job
-When FILE: is selected as the printer port on the Ports sheet of
the printer properties dialog during a print job
-When Output to File is selected in the Print dialog box of
the software applications during a print job
- If you used Adobe Photoshop for printing, tone jump may occur in the gradation
of monochrome photographs.
- Stamps and page borders may not be printed correctly when the following
Print Quality settings are combined with large paper sizes:
- Images may not print centered in the middle if you have checked the box
for Center Image in the print preview window and have performed printing
with Adobe Photoshop CS3. If you are unable to print, click the Page Setup
button in the Adobe Photoshop print preview window, and print after making
print settings.
- Data created with Microsoft Word may not print properly when printing with
the Enlarged/Reduced Printing or Borderless Printing settings. If this
occurs, try printing after performing the following.
- Open the folder of the printer from the Start menu, right-click
the printer, and select Printing Preferences. Set Page Size,
Enlarged/Reduced Printing, and Borderless Printing from the Page Setup
sheet, and start the application.
- Open the Page Setup dialog box of Microsoft Word, and close it with OK.
- After setting the printer driver, close the Print dialog box without
proceeding to print. Open the printer driver settings window once more,
close it with OK, and then proceed to print.
