Section Classification (As per Table 2, Section 3.7.2 and 3.7.4)

Є = SQRT (250/FYLD) = 1
b/tf = 7.41 < 9.4ε=9.4
Thus, Class is Plastic for Flange

Moment carrying capacity along Z-Axis

The member is not laterally supported. Thus, LAT = 0.0

For Major-Axis (As per Section 8.2.2)

Check for Lateral Torsional Buckling

tf /tw = 1.667
Modulus of Rigidity = G = 78846.1 mm3
Torsional Constant = It = 232000 mm4
Warping Constant = Iw = 1.12E+11 mm6

Design moment for Lateral Torsional Buckling = Mdz = 75.1 kN.m
Ratio = 0.531 < 1.0

For Minor-Axis: (As per Section 8.2.1.2)

Critical Ratio for Shear = 1000/354283 = 0.003 < 0.6
The deflection pattern is of simply supported type and Bending Class is Semi-Compact.
Thus, CAN = 0.0, and βb = 0.471
Mdy1 = 1.343E+07 Nmm < 1.2*Zey*FYLD/γmo = 1.61E+07 N.mm
Design bending strength = Mdy = 13.43 kN.m
Ratio = 0.372 < 1.0

Interaction Check:

Check for Section Strength to the combined effects of loading (As per Section 9.3.1)
Axial strength = Nd = 1219545.455 N
n = 1.12E-02 < 0.2
Thus, Mndy = 13430458.33 N.mm
Mndz(1) = 8.24E+07 N.mm > Mdz
Thus, Mndz = 75074791 N.mm
Since the section is a Channel-section, as per table 17, Clause 9.3.1.1
α1' = 5.58E-02 < 1
Thus, α1 = 1 and α2 = 2
Interaction Ratio (For Semi-Compact Section) = 0.915 < 1.0

The section is safe against the Combined Axial Compression and Bending

Check for Overall Member Strength to the combined effects of loading

Slenderness ratio of the member about Y axis = λy = 176.51

Slenderness ratio of the member about Z axis = λz = 36.61

λLT = 1.127
ny = 5.55E-02
nz = 0.0126
Ky,1 = 1.08E+01 > 1+0.8ny = 1.044
Thus, Ky = 1.044
Kz,1 = 1.46E+00 > 1+0.8nz = 1.01
Kz = 1.01
.
KLT,1 = 0.989 > 1 –
 .
