1. Room Only (RO)

Customer pays for the room on booking, and no food is included in the price. This meal basis is

common in hotels, hostels, and villas. It is ideal for people who don’t want to be toed down to

the hotel’s restaurant opening times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

2. Half Board (HB)

Both breakfast and evening meal are included in the room rate, lunch is excluded. Breakfast

will normally include drinks (tea, coffee, juice, water), but this may not be the case for the

evening meal. This meal plan is great for families with children or those on a special diet.

3. Full Board (HB)

Full Board means that all three meals are included – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This plan

would suit those on a health trip and those who don’t want to move around much. As with half

board, drinks are only usually included at breakfast, and customers have to pay extra at lunch and

dinner.

ROOM RATES:
1. Standard /Flexible Rate

This is the regular rate for each room. A standard rate usually means that customers can cancel

or modify their booking for a refund up to 24 hours before check-in.

2. Prepaid /Advance Purchase Rate

Customer will pay for the room at the time they make reservation instead of at check-out. And

usually, this is non-refundable.

3. Loyalty Rate

This is the rate customers get as a member of the hotel’s loyalty program. Loyalty rates are the

hotel’s only opportunity to give guests a discount below the fixed minimum rate. By booking a

prepaid loyalty rate, the guests can availt a double discount on that room.

Other Rate Types

4. Special Rate

Certain groups of people qualify for a reduced rate with some hotels. These can include

military personnel, educators, government officials, travel agents, and flight attendants or other

flight crew members.

5. Group Rate

Hotels can offer a discount for groups that book a block of rooms together, depending on the

number of guests and the length of stay.

6. Package Rate

Some hotels offer different packages to guests. These can cover everything from airport

pickup and spa packages to sightseeing and meals. They might be restricted to a certain length of

stay or season.

7.Off-Season Rate

Most common with resorts, these are discounted rates offered in the off-season when the hotel

is less popular.
