COVID-19 Global Travel Restrictions


The growing number of global COVID-19 cases has prompted governments worldwide to restrict international travel. Border closures, travel
advisories, targeted travel bans, and mandatory health screening at points of entry are ubiquitous.
The status of travel restrictions and other measures is evolving daily as COVID-19 continues to spread. Exlog is continually monitoring local media

Country Nature of Travel Restrictions Additional Resources
Algeria Officials have closed all land, air, and sea borders; exceptions have been made for goods and returning Ministry of Health
Algerian citizens. Domestic and commercial international flights are suspended. All movements within
and out of Blida Province are prohibited. A variety of restrictions are in effect until April 29: a ban on
public gatherings, closures of mosques and schools, and a curfew from 1700-0700 in Batna, Tizi Ouzou,
Setif, Constantine, Medea, Oran, Boumerdes, El Oued, and Tipaza provinces, as well as Algiers.
Angola All international flights are suspended. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on citizens of China, France, Ministry of Health
Iran, Italy, South Korea, Portugal, or Spain traveling directly from those countries; this restriction does not
apply to those who have traveled via a third country. All travelers arriving from mainland China, or those
who have had contact with affected individuals, will be quarantined for 14 days at five sites outside
Luanda and screened for COVID-19 infection. Foreign nationals must comply with the mandatory
quarantine or leave the country. Authorities have banned gatherings of 50 or more people and non-
essential movement until May 30; while restrictions on commercial inter-provincial travel have been
lifted as of April 26, personal travel is still banned. Luanda province remains under lockdown.
Benin All land borders are closed to nonessential traffic. Commercial air traffic entering and leaving Benin via Ministry of Health
Cotonu Cadjehoun Airport is suspended. Lockdowns are in place around cities most affected by COVID-19 Government of Benin –
(including Cotonou, Abomey, Calavi, Allada, Ouidah, Sèmè-Podji, Porto-Novo, Akpro-Missérété, COVID-19
and Adjarra) until end of April. Police and military are enforcing social distancing measures, including
mandating the use of protective masks, prohibiting social gatherings of more than 10 people, and
suspending public transportation, until May 10.
Botswana Officials have closed all land, air, and sea borders to non-residents; only the movement of goods and Ministry of Health
repatriations of local nationals/residents will be allowed across the border. Authorities have suspended
all international and domestic flights. Any citizen or resident re-entering the country will be quarantined
for 14 days. Enhanced control measures are in place at all major border crossings, ports of entry, and
airports to detect potentially infected individuals. State of emergency measures include a ban on non-
essential travel; those needing to travel must obtain a permit from the District Commissioner.

Burkina Faso Officials have closed all land borders; an exception has been made for freight movement. Ouagadougou Ministry of Health
and Bobo-Dioulasso airports are closed to commercial flights. Stay-at-home orders and intercity travel
restrictions are in place in urban areas with confirmed COVID-19 cases, including Ouagadougou and
Bobo-Dioulasso. A nationwide, overnight curfew is in effect between 2100-0400. Other restrictions
include a ban on public gatherings and the closure of nonessential establishments.
Burundi All international flights—except cargo, medical evacuation, humanitarian, and diplomatic flights—are Ministry of Health
suspended. All travelers will undergo medical screening upon arrival and must complete passenger
locator cards. Officials have suspended all visa applications; visas will only be renewed for individuals
already in the country. There are extensive screening and quarantine measures in place at all land border
crossings.
Cabo Verde Authorities have suspended all international commercial flights. All borders are closed except to Cabo National Institute of
Verde citizens and medical emergencies. Maritime travel is limited to only cargo and fishing vessels. Public Health
Domestic travel in areas such as Boa Vista may be restricted due to stay-at-home orders, as well as school Cape Verde Government
and nonessential business closures. All restrictions will remain in place until at least May 2. or the islands
of Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Sal, Maio, Fogo, and Brava; restrictions on the islands of Boa Vista, Santiago,
and Sao Vicente are in effect until May 2.
Cameroon Officials have closed all land, sea, and air borders. Exceptions will be made for flights and ships carrying Ministry of Public Health
cargo. Schools are closed and public events are canceled. Gatherings of 50 or more people are banned,
and nonessential businesses must close by 1800. Nonessential and inter-city travel have been banned. As
of April 13, the use of face masks is mandatory.
Central African Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers arriving from a country with local COVID-19 No official resource
Republic transmission. Returning nationals and residents who have been to areas with local COVID-19 transmission available
will be quarantined for 21 days upon arrival. Travelers arriving at M’Poko International Airport are subject
to medical screening; the airport is only open to essential, humanitarian, and medevac flights.
Chad Authorities have closed all airports until at least May 15, suspending international and domestic flights. Ministry of Health
Enhanced control measures are in place at some Cameroonian-Chadian land border crossings to detect
potentially infected individuals. A 2000-0500 curfew is in place in many provinces bordering Cameroon
until at least April 30. Preventative measures include the use of a face mask while in public.

Comoros Officials have banned travel between East African coastal nations – Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, etc. – Government of
and Comoros. International commercial flights to/from Comoros are suspended (except cargo flights) Comoros
until further notice, as well as maritime travel between the four islands. Schools are closed, events are Gov. Coronavirus Page
canceled, the use of a mask is mandatory, and gatherings are banned.
Congo Authorities have closed all land borders and suspended all arriving/departing international passenger Ministry of Health,
flights. Authorities are enforcing a nightly 2000-0500 curfew and a stay-at-home order until April 30, with Population, Promotion

Cote d’Ivoire All borders are closed to traffic, with exceptions for cargo and humanitarian purposes. Passenger air Ministry of Health and
travel, both domestic and international, is suspended. Domestic restrictions include a prohibition on Public Hygiene
inter-city travel, closure of schools and non-essential business, mandatory use of face masks in public,
and a nationwide 2100-0500 curfew until at least May 17.
Democratic Republic Authorities have suspended international and domestic flights to Kinshasa; this restriction was originally Ministry of Health
of Congo set to expire April 3 and no extension has been announced. All travelers arriving from Italy, France, China,
Iran, Iraq, South Korea, and Germany are instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days. Authorities are using
preexisting Ebola health screening measures at some land border crossings and ports to detect
potentially infected individuals. Officials are enforcing an exit ban on Congolese citizens traveling to
China. Authorities have banned inter-provincial travel to/from Kinshasa. As of April 22, some movement
restrictions in the commune of Gombe, in Kinshasa, have been relaxed, thought residents still may not
leave the area. Face masks are mandatory.
Equatorial Guinea Officials have suspended the issuance of visas and have closed all air, sea, and land borders. International Equatorial Guinea
commercial flights are suspended until further notice. Returning nationals and residents will be Government
quarantined for 14 days. Domestic restrictions include school closures, bans on large gatherings,
mandatory use of face masks, and prohibiting travel by bus until April 30.
Eritrea Authorities have suspended all arriving and departing international flights, except in urgent and Ministry of Information
unavoidable circumstances, until at least April 29. Authorities have banned intercity travel and the use of
public transportation, closed non-essential businesses, and imposed a stay-at-home order until at least
April 23; no extension has been announced.
Eswatini Authorities have suspended all departing international flights. Nonessential cross-border travel is Ministry of Health
suspended. Returning Swati citizens and residents must self-quarantine for 14 days. Nonessential

domestic travel between cities, towns, and regions is also restricted. Some land border crossings have
been closed, including Sicunisa, Gege, Lundzi, Sandlane, Bulembu, and Nsalitje. Additional restrictions in
place until May 7 include bans on nonessential travel and gatherings of 20 or more people, and reduced
public transit service.
Ethiopia All land borders are closed, with exceptions for the movement of essential goods. Passengers arriving on Ethiopian Public Health
intra-African and international flights may be subject to health screening. All arriving travelers will be Institute; Ministry of

Ababa began door-to-door COVID-19 testing. Public transportation is suspended, large gatherings and
nonessential travel are banned, and schools and recreational establishments are closed.
Gabon All land, air, and sea borders are closed except to freight/cargo shipments until May 11. Authorities have Ministry of Health
suspended international and domestic flights, as well as rail service. A curfew is in effect from 1900-0600.
Schools, houses of worship, and recreational establishments are closed, gatherings of 30 or more people
are banned, and officials have mandated the use of face masks.
Gambia All citizens of, or foreign travelers arriving by air from, “high-risk” countries will be denied entry. Ministry of Health
Authorities have closed the land border with Senegal except to essential supplies and security personnel;
flights between the two countries are also suspended. All travelers are subject to health and travel
history screening. Schools and nonessential businesses are closed, and public gatherings are banned.
Public transportation is limited, as is the number of passengers. Domestic restrictions will remain in place
until at least mid-May.
Ghana All borders are closed to nonessential traffic until at least May 4. Authorities have lifted a nationwide Ministry of Health
lockdown, allowing businesses to open. However, schools remain closed and public gatherings, including
religious services, are suspended until May 11.
Guinea Arriving and departing international flights are suspended. Health surveillance has been strengthened at Ministry of Health
points of entry, especially the Conakry and Boke ports. A nationwide curfew is in effect between 2000-
0600 and all travel from Conakry is banned. Restrictive measures include the closure of schools and
nonessential shops, as well as bans on public transportation, gatherings of more than 20 people, and the
sale of alcohol until May 15. As of April 18, masks must be worn in public spaces.

Guinea Bissau All land borders, commercial air links, and seaports are closed. Authorities have strengthened preexisting Guinea Bissau
Ebola health security measures to detect potential COVID-19 cases. Authorities have suspended public Government
transportation and closed nonessential businesses. All restrictions are expected to last until May 8.
Kenya All international flights are suspended until at least May 6; cargo flights are exempt. Officials are Ministry of Health
enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals arriving from any country with confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Kenyan nationals arriving from countries with reported cases must self-quarantine for 14 days.
Authorities have closed the land border with Uganda; cargo trucks are exempt. Health screenings and
other enhanced controls are in place at all ports of entry to detect potentially infected individuals.
Domestic travel is limited by a nationwide curfew from 2100-0500 and 24-hour lockdowns in the
following areas: Nairobi, Mandera, Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa. Additional restrictions include a ban in
public gatherings and mandatory use of face masks.
Lesotho Borders with South Africa have been closed except to cargo transport. All arriving travelers are subject to Ministry of Health
a 14-day quarantine. Officials have issued a stay-at-home order limiting domestic movement until May 5.
Additional restrictions include closures of nonessential businesses and reductions to passenger loads and
operating hours on public transportation.
Liberia All air traffic is suspended, with exceptions for cargo flights. Land borders are closed. Domestic travel is Ministry of Health
severely limited by a nationwide lockdown. Individuals may only leave their residences for essential
services and supplies. A 60-day state of emergency is in effect as of April 10. Officials have announced a
stay-at-home order through May 8.
Madagascar All international air travel is suspended. Travelers arriving by sea who have departed the following Ministry of Public Health
locations in the past 14 days will be denied entry: mainland China, Europe, South Korea, Japan, and Iran.
Travelers who have been to countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases may be required to self-quarantine
in a country free of cases for 14 days prior to arrival. All cruise ship calls are prohibited. Domestic travel is
limited by a nationwide curfew from 0200-0500. Partial lockdowns are in effect in Fianarantsoa,
Antananarivo, and Toamasina; however, these have been partially eased during the hours of 0600-1300.
Public transportation services have resumed, and schools are back in session as of April 22.
Malawi All international flights are suspended. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign travelers. Citizens Ministry of Health
and residents returning from countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases are subject to quarantine.

Travelers are not permitted to self-quarantine in hotels or lodges. Domestic movement is limited, and
nonessential businesses are closed until May 9.
Mali All land borders are closed, with exceptions for cargo and freight. Authorities have suspended Ministry of Health
international flights from countries with sustained COVID-19 transmission. Arriving travelers are subject
to health screening. Symptomatic travelers arriving from areas with sustained COVID-19 transmission
must self-quarantine for 14 days, and are encouraged to register with healthcare facilities for monitoring.
Domestic travel is limited by a nationwide curfew from 2100-0500. Schools are closed until May 9.
Mauritania Restrictions remain in place as officials have suspended all international flights. All air, land, and sea Ministry of Health
borders are closed, except to commercial goods. Domestic travel is limited by a curfew from 2000-0600.
Mauritius Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers regardless of nationality. Local nationals and legal Ministry of Health
residents are permitted to leave the country and will be placed in mandatory quarantine upon re-entry.
Domestic travel is limited, only essential services are open, and schools remain closed until May 4.
Mozambique All arriving travelers must self-quarantine for two weeks. The issuance of visas has been suspended; visas Ministry of Health
already issued are canceled. Departing international flights are increasingly limited. Domestic COVID-19
measures include the bans on public events and the closure of all educational and religious institutions.
Namibia Officials have suspended flights to/from Qatar, Ethiopia, and Germany. An entry ban is in effect for all Ministry of Health
foreign nationals. Officials are enforcing an exit ban through May 4 on local nationals and permanent
residents, except for essential services or persons seeking medical treatment. All international flights are
directed to only land at Hosea Kutako International and Walvis Bay International Airports. Local nationals
returning from abroad will be quarantined for 14 days at Hosea Kutako International Airport or Windhoek
Central Hospital (Ward 6). Domestic travel is limited by lockdowns in Khomas and Erongo until May 4.
Niger Authorities have closed all land borders until further notice and all international airports until further Ministry of Health
notice; movements of domestic goods, as well as medical and military freighters, are exempt. All travelers
are subject to health screenings and must complete passenger locator cards. Travelers arriving from
countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases are encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days. Domestic travel
disruptions cannot be ruled out; a daily 2000-0600 curfew is in effect across Niger.
Nigeria International air travel is suspended; as of March 23, Lagos and Abuja international airports are closed for Ministry of Health
a month. All land borders are also closed. Visas on arrival and entry for travelers from mainland China,
Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, the US, Norway, the UK, the Netherlands,

Switzerland, Austria, and Sweden are suspended. Individuals with suspected COVID-19 cases are
encouraged to self-quarantine and those with symptoms must report to a hospital. Officials have banned
inter-state travel. The states of Kano, Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun are under lockdown indefinitely; effective
April 22, Borno State is also under a two-week lockdown. Lagos State authorities have also mandated the
use of face masks in public as of April 25.
Rwanda All international and domestic commercial travel to, from, and within Rwanda is suspended through April Ministry of Health
30; cargo shipments are exempt. Authorities have banned domestic travel between cities and provinces,
as well as nonessential travel from residences. A nationwide lockdown is in place through April 30.
Sao Tome and Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign travelers until further notice. Returning local nationals Ministry of Health
Principe and those traveling inter-island are subject to health screenings and will be quarantined upon arrival. Facebook Page
Suspected COVID-19 cases will be quarantined at Central Ayres de Menezes Hospital. As of April 24, a
mandatory curfew is in effect from 1900-0600. Additionally, face masks are to be worn at all times.
Senegal Authorities have suspended all arriving/departing international flights until June 1. Land borders are also Ministry of Health
closed. Arriving passenger ships are banned. Domestic travel is limited by a nationwide curfew from
2000-0600. Officials are expected to limit travel between cities and provinces and may ban travel outright
depending on adherence to the initial limitations. All educational and religious institutions are closed.
Seychelles Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign travelers arriving by air or sea. No local national or Ministry of Health
resident may travel abroad until at least April 29. Authorities have banned cruise ships and other leisure
watercraft from entering Seychellois waters until further notice. Domestic travel is limited by a 21-day
nationwide lockdown that began April 9. Nonessential shops and businesses are closed and only police
and essential workers are permitted on roads. A curfew is in effect from 1900-0600 daily; essential
workers are excluded under the curfew.
Sierra Leone Officials have suspended all arriving/departing international flights and closed all land and sea borders to Ministry of Health
passenger traffic. As of April 26, travel between districts is banned, with a curfew in effect from 2100-
0600. Officials have closed all schools and religious institutions. Authorities have mandated the use of
face masks in public.
South Africa All international and domestic flights are suspended; an exception has been made for cargo not entering Ministry of Health
from a high-risk country. Officials have banned cruise ships from entering the country. All long-distance
and commuter rail services are suspended. A stay-at-home order is in effect until April 30.

South Sudan Officials have closed all airports and borders, except to cargo transport. Domestic travel is limited by Ministry of Health
enforced curfews and inter-provincial transportation bans. Restrictions are slated to expire April 29.
Togo Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals who have departed France, Germany, Italy, or Ministry of Health
Spain within the past 14 days. Authorities have canceled flights from high-risk countries, including Italy,
France, Spain, and Germany. Passengers arriving on direct flights from the US are recommended to self-
quarantine for 14 days. All arriving travelers are subject to health screening. Officials have closed all land
borders and implemented a nationwide, nightly curfew from 1900-0600. Major cities including Lomé,
Tsévié, Kpalimé, and Sokodé have been sealed off.
Uganda Official have closed air, land, and sea borders to all travelers, including Ugandan nationals and residents. Ministry of Health
Authorities have suspended all arriving, international commercial passenger flights. A nationwide
lockdown limiting domestic travel and public gatherings, and mandating the closure of schools and
nonessential businesses, is in effect until at least May 5. Cargo and freight movements are exempt from
restrictions.
United Republic of As of April 11, officials have banned all scheduled and nonscheduled international passenger flights. Ministry of Health
Tanzania Arriving travelers, including Tanzanian nationals and residents, will be quarantined for 14 days.
Commercial truck drivers must declare their destination and remain in their vehicle while in the country.
Officials have closed all educational facilities until further notice.
Zambia All arriving travelers are subject to health screening and must complete passenger locator cards. Arriving Ministry of Health
international travelers are quarantined for 14 days at their own expense; those with symptoms are
quarantined in a medical facility. Local nationals are barred from foreign travel. All international flights
arrive and depart Kenneth Kaunda International Airport only. Officials have closed all public schools.
Zimbabwe Authorities have closed the borders to land and air travel; an exception has been made for returning Ministry of Health
Zimbabwean nationals and permit holders. Suspected cases of COVID-19 will be quarantined at Wilkins
Hospital in Harare and Thorngrove in Bulawayo. The country is under lockdown through May 3; travel will
only be permitted to obtain food, fuel, and medical attention.

Antigua and All inbound commercial traffic from Canada, the US, Europe, Iran, China, South Korea, and Singapore is Ministry of Health
Barbuda banned. Any foreign national who has visited China, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, or
Singapore within the last 28 days will be denied entry. V.C. Bird International Airport is only open to cargo
and limited domestic operations. Authorities are enforcing a 24-hour curfew until May 14; individuals may
not leave home other than for essential travel.
Argentina Officials are enforcing an entry ban on nonresident foreign nationals. Authorities have reopened 8 land Ministry of Health
border crossings between 0800-1600 daily and will allow 500 nationals and residents to pass per
checkpoint per day. Ezeiza International Airport is open only to repatriation flights and critical and
humanitarian travel. All passengers must sign an affidavit of health and report any symptoms that develop
after entering the country. All travelers are encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days. Authorities are
enforcing a nationwide quarantine until at least May 10. ordering individuals to stay home, and requiring
the wearing of masks in certain areas.
Aruba Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals arriving by air and sea; local nationals and Ministry of Public Health
residents must contact the Aruba Tourism Authority to coordinate their return and will be placed in a 14-
day quarantine upon arrival. Empty passenger flights may land in Aruba to transport anyone wishing to
leave the country; there are no restrictions in place for outbound passengers. All inbound air travel is
suspended until May 31. Enhanced health screening measures are in place at Queen Beatrix International
Airport. Schools are closed through May 9; nonessential establishments are closed until at least April 28.
Authorities have implemented a shelter-in-place order and a nightly 2100-0600 curfew.
Bahamas Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all arriving travelers, including citizens, residents, and non-resident Ministry of Health
foreign nationals. International flight arrivals are suspended, along with all maritime travel including
domestic inter-island movements. Schools and nonessential businesses are closed, public gatherings
banned, and public bus transportation is suspended until April 30.
Barbados All arriving travelers are will undergo health screening, must complete a health declaration form, and are Ministry of Health
subject to a 14-day quarantine. Residents who have had close contact with an infected person are

instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days. Nonessential travel is prohibited, essential travel is limited to 2
days per week (determined by surname), and public gathering of more than 3 people are banned. A
nationwide curfew from 1800-0600 is in effect through May 3.
Belize Land border crossings into Belize are closed to all but commercial traffic and essential travel. Returning Ministry of Health
legal residents may enter but are subject to inspections and may be quarantined for 14 days. Philip Goldson
International Airport and all seaports are closed except to cargo planes and vessels. A mandatory stay-at-
home order is in effect and a 2000-0500 curfew is enforced until at least April 30.
Bermuda Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign travelers. Legal residents and commercial crews may enter Government of
but must self-quarantine for 14 days and complete a health declaration form. LF Wade International Bermuda
Airport is closed to arriving flights. A shelter-in-place order, including a nightly 1900-0700 curfew, is in
effect through May 2. Schools, religious establishments, and nonessential businesses are closed.
Bolivia Arriving and departing international flights are suspended until April 30; repatriation and humanitarian Ministry of Health
flights are excluded. All land borders are closed. Domestic travel is limited, as all public transportation has
been suspended. A nationwide lockdown mandates the closure of nonessential businesses, a curfew from
1200-0700, and limitations on who may leave home and when; restrictions are in effect until April 30.
Brazil Only legal residents and cargo crews may arrive in Brazil by air for a 30-day period beginning March 30; Ministry of Health
arrivals are subject to quarantine. Land borders are closed to all but commercial traffic; citizens will still be
allowed re-entry. Many cities are restricting nonessential travel and closing nonessential businesses. São
Paulo officials have extended their city’s lockdown through May 11.
British Virgin Islands Borders are closed to all traffic, with exceptions for freight and cargo, until June 2. Officials are enforcing a Government of the
24-hour curfew until May 4; essential movement is only permitted on certain days of the week (determined Virgin Islands
by surname) between the hours of 0800-1800. Schools and nonessential businesses are closed, and public Ministry of Health
gatherings of 30 or more people are banned.

Cayman Islands Authorities have banned cruise ship calls and suspended all international and domestic flights to/from the Ministry of Health
Cayman Islands, effectively closing Cayman borders until further notice. A curfew permitting only essential Health Services
travel only is in effect from 1900-0500; all nonessential businesses are closed during this period. Public Authority
gatherings of two or more people are banned, and taxis are restricted to two or fewer passengers per ride.
Chile All land, sea, and air borders are closed until at least April 23 (with no extension yet reported); legal Ministry of Health
residents, cargo, and associated personnel are exempt. Surveillance measures at ports of entry have been
strengthened. A nationwide curfew is in effect between 2200-0500. Some areas have begun lifting
restrictions, while other areas continue to quarantine; a nationwide ban on public gatherings remains
active.
Colombia Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all persons, including Colombian nationals. All land, riverine, and sea Ministry of Health
borders are closed to citizens and non-citizens. International air arrivals are suspended until the end of
May. Domestic travel disruptions cannot be ruled out due to curfews and quarantines. All persons over the
age of 70 are asked to self-quarantine through May, whereas all individuals are to shelter in place until at
least May 11.
Costa Rica Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign travelers until further notice. Legal residents, diplomats, Ministry of Health
and air crews are exempt; however, all international arrivals must self-quarantine for 14 days. Any
foreigner who leaves the country will automatically lose his/her immigration status and may not reenter.
Businesses, excluding grocery stores and medical centers, are closed on weekends and by 1900 on
weekdays. A complete ban on vehicle travel is in effect from 1900-0500 until July 17; outside of these
hours, certain additional restrictions are in place based on a vehicle’s license plate number.
Cuba All international flights are suspended. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers, including Cuban Ministry of Health
expatriates. Legal residents will be allowed entry but are subject to a 14-day quarantine period. All tourists
must remain in their hotel or other lodging and may only leave go to the airport. Domestic movement
restrictions include public transit service suspensions, curfews in many cities, nationwide closure of schools
and nonessential businesses, and strict social distancing.
Curacao Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers and an exit ban on residents and local nationals. A Ministry of Health
nationwide shelter-in-place order restricting nonessential movement, and a curfew from 2100-0600, are in
effect until the end of April.

Dominica Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreigners and local nationals. Nonessential commercial air and Ministry of Health
maritime travel are suspended. A nationwide curfew is in effect from 1800-0600 until May 11.
Dominican Republic All inbound air and maritime transport is suspended until further notice. Cargo and freight movements are Ministry of Health
exempt, and repatriation flights for foreign nationals will continue. The country's sole land border with
Haiti is closed. The following restrictions are in place through April 30: a nightly 2000-0600 curfew that
prohibits all domestic traffic and movement; a ban on public gatherings; and the closure schools and non-
essential businesses.
Ecuador Officials are enforcing a complete entry ban on foreigners and local nationals, including to the Galapagos Ministry of Health
Islands. Domestic passenger flights are prohibited. A nationwide curfew is in effect from 1400-0500, public
gatherings are banned until the end of May, schools and nonessential businesses are closed, and inter-
provincial transportation is suspended until the end of April.
El Salvador Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals. Returning Salvadorian citizens will be Ministry of Health
quarantined for 30 days. El Salvador International Airport (SAL) has suspended most flight operations; only
flights associated with air cargo transportation, maintenance, and humanitarian missions are permitted. A
mandatory home quarantine is enforced by security services until April 28.
Grenada All domestic and international travel is suspended, and a 24-hour curfew is in effect. Ministry of Health
Guatemala All domestic and international air travel, excluding cargo flights, is suspended until April 30. Officials have Ministry of Health
closed the borders to all travelers except for returning Guatemalan citizens and residents, who will be
quarantined for 14 days upon arrival. Designated quarantine sites include Villa Nueva hospital in Guatemala
City. Domestic travel is limited by an enforced curfew and travel ban until at least April 30. A nationwide
curfew is in effect from the hours of 1800-0400 through April 30.
Guyana All ports of entry are effectively closed to international traffic; Cheddi Jagan and Eugene F. Correia Ministry of Health
international airports remain closed until further notice. Airspace will reopen May 1 pending official review
of the COVID-19 situation. A nationwide 1800-0600 curfew is in effect until May 3.
Haiti Authorities have closed the land border with the Dominican Republic, as well as all ports and airports. All Ministry of Health
commercial passenger flights are suspended. Suspected COVID-19 cases may be quarantined. Officials are
enforcing a nightly curfew from 2000-0500. All roadways to South Province are closed.

Honduras Officials have banned all international flights and closed all land and sea borders until further notice; Ministry of Health
exceptions will be made for returning Honduran nationals, who are subject to a mandatory quarantine
upon entry. A total curfew on all but essential movement is in effect through at least April 26 (no new date
yet reported); any persons on the streets may be arrested at police discretion. Protective mask use is
mandatory in public spaces.
Jamaica Officials are enforcing a ban on all travelers entering the country via air and seaports until May 2. Returning Ministry of Health
Jamaican nationals who have visited China, Italy, South Korea, Iran, Singapore, Spain, France, Germany, or
the UK are subject to a health assessment and quarantine/self-quarantine. All travelers from countries with
local transmission are quarantined for 14 days. Officials have enacted a nightly curfew from 2000-0600.
Mexico Authorities have closed the northern land border with the US to all “nonessential travel” until further Ministry of Health
notice. Cargo traffic and healthcare workers are exempt. Officials have suspended all nonessential travel
and closed schools until May 30.
Nicaragua Medical screening at entry points has been strengthened. Travelers arriving from “high-risk” locations may Ministry of Health

Panama Officials are enforcing an entry ban on non-resident foreign nationals. Officials have suspended all Ministry of Health
arriving/departing international and domestic flights through May 22. Ships passing through the Panama
Canal after stopping in a known threat area (mainland China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, or Italy) must notify
Panamanian authorities 30 days before arrival regardless of whether they intend to dock or transit. All
ships are to undergo health inspections. An indefinite, round-the-clock curfew is in effect, essentially
locking down the country.
Paraguay Officials have closed all international borders until further notice. Domestic travel is also limited due to an Ministry of Health
enforced nationwide quarantine prohibiting nonessential travel. Domestic travel is also limited through
May 3 due to an enforced nationwide quarantine prohibiting nonessential travel. Schools are also closed.
Peru Officials have suspended travel to/from Peru by land, air, and sea for all individuals, including Peruvian Ministry of Health
nationals and residents, through May 10. The Peruvian government will no longer aid in the repatriation of
Peruvian nationals and residents. Foreign governments will also be prohibited from repatriating their
nationals from Peru; however, several governments are currently negotiating or receiving special
permission to repatriate their citizens. Domestic travel is limited by mandatory curfews and quarantines.

Saint Kitts and Nevis Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals traveling from the following locations: mainland Information Service
China, Iran, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, the UK, Europe, the US, and Dutch and French
territories in the Caribbean. All other foreign travelers arriving from any other country must complete a
health screening, six-week travel history statement, and 14-day quarantine at a government facility; those
who do not comply may be refused entry. Returning residents and local nationals are subject to health
screening upon arrival and a mandatory 14-day quarantine. Vessels may only dock at “Official Seaports of
Entry” between the hours of 0800-1600 daily. As of April 19, businesses are gradually reopening with social
distancing measures in place.
Saint Lucia Authorities have suspended all arriving commercial and private flights; cargo and repatriation flights are Ministry of Health
exempt. Officials have banned all cruise ship calls, pleasure crafts, and yachts for 30 days. Enhanced health
screening measures are in place at all air- and seaports. Returning local nationals will be quarantined for 14
days. As of April 27, an island-wide curfew is in effect from 1900-0500 daily.
Saint Vincent and All inbound international flights into the Argyle International Airport are canceled. All arriving travelers who Ministry of Health
the Grenadines have departed China, Iran, South Korea, the US (including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands), the EU, all
overseas territories belonging to France, the UK, and Canada will be quarantined for 14 days. All passengers

calls until further notice. Domestic travel between Trinidad and Tobago is limited to essential travel only. A
stay-at-home order is in effect until April 30.
Turks and Caicos All airports and seaports are closed to incoming commercial travel. Returning nationals and residents, Ministry of Health
regardless of travel history, are subject to mandatory health screening, clinical examination, and 14-day

quarantine under the surveillance of the Chief Medical Officer; returnees must also complete travel history
declarations and passenger locator cards. Officials have suspended passport services at immigration offices.
Domestic travel is limited due to a 24-hour curfew. Schools are also closed. The government is actively
assisting in arranging charter flights to repatriate all stranded foreign nationals still on the islands. All
aforementioned restrictions will be in effect through May 4.
United States Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals who have departed the UK, Ireland, mainland United States
China, Iran, or the 26 Schengen Area countries in the past 14 days. Exceptions are being made for arriving Government
individuals who are the immediate family members of US citizens and legal US residents; these individuals
are subject to a 14-day quarantine. Travelers arriving from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, India,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa,
South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, or the aforementioned areas will be asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.
Authorities have also closed the land borders with Canada and Mexico to all “nonessential travel.”
Domestic travel disruptions cannot be ruled out due to local stay-at-home orders. Routine visa services
overseas have been suspended at all US embassies and consulates.
Uruguay Officials have closed all borders (land, air, riverine) with Argentina and Brazil. Nonresident foreigners are Ministry of Health
prohibited from entering the country until further notice. Uruguayan citizens or residents arriving from the
following locations will be quarantined for 14 days: China; South Korea; Japan; Singapore; Iran; Italy; the
US; Madrid, La Rioja, and Basque County, Spain; Oise, and Upper Rhine, France; and North Rhine-
Westphalia, Germany. Airline passengers are subject to health screening and, in the event of a suspected
case detected at Montevideo or Carrasco International Airports, will be quarantined. Officials have banned
cruise ship calls at Uruguayan ports; port authorities continue to screen passengers arriving on fishing
boats and ferries. Home-quarantined travelers will be supervised by security personnel. Domestic travel
restrictions have been strengthened until further notice.
Venezuela Authorities have suspended all international flights until at least May 13. The land borders with Brazil and Ministry of Health
Colombia are closed. Epidemiological surveillance has been increased at ports and airports, particularly
Simon Bolivar International Airport. Restrictions may be extended in 30-day increments or change without
warning. Domestic travel is limited by a nationwide lockdown.

from abroad are required to undergo medical examinations, self-isolate for 14 days regardless of the outcome
of the COVID-19 test, and wear electronic tracking bracelets for the duration of the quarantine period. Officials
have suspended the issuance of visas upon arrival, and all non-diplomatic passengers departing Bahrain must
obtain an e-visa prior to departure. Domestic restrictions include bans on public gatherings, closures of
recreational establishments, and mandatory use of masks.
Djibouti Arriving and departing international travel is suspended. All land, sea, and air borders are closed. Domestic Ministry of Health
travel is disrupted, as a national lockdown is currently in place mandating the closure of nonessential
businesses, schools, and religious establishments through April 30.
Egypt All air travel, international and domestic, is suspended. Authorities have banned travel from Qatar; this Ministry of Health and
restriction applies to all Qatari citizens, including legal residents of Egypt. All arriving travelers, including Population
citizens, will be quarantined at specific hotels. El-Negelah Central Hospital in Marsa Matrouh has been
designated as a quarantine site. A loosened nationwide curfew from 2100-0600 is in effect for the duration of
Ramadan, though public gatherings and religious activities remain banned during the holy month.
Iran No international restrictions. A ban on inter-city travel has been lifted, though an inter-province travel ban Ministry of Foreign
remains in effect. Inter-city highways and parks have begun to slowly reopen. Large gatherings are still Affairs
prohibited.

Iraq Authorities have banned all arriving and departing international flights until at least May 22. Officials are Ministry of Health
enforcing an entry ban on citizens of these countries. Individuals transiting the aforementioned countries are
also subject to an entry ban; diplomats and Iraqi citizens, though exempt, will be quarantined for 14 days.
Officials have closed the Iraq-Iran land border crossing, including to all Iraqis residing in Iran. The Safwan,
Bashmakh, Haji Omaran, Parwezkahn, Munthiriya, and Summar border crossings are closed. The Shalamija,
Shib, and Zurbatya border crossings are open only to Iraqi citizens. International travelers entering the Iraqi
Kurdistan Region by land or air are subject to health screening. As of April 23, officials are enforcing a partial
curfew from 1800-0600 during the holy month of Ramadan.
Jordan All arriving and departing international flights (except cargo flights) are suspended. Land and sea borders are Ministry of Health
closed to passenger traffic through May 11. Officials have banned domestic inter-provincial travel. The
Jordanian Armed Forces have closed all crossings into Amman, excluding persons whose work requires them to
enter/exit the capital and those who receive pre-authorization from the JAF. Officials have announced an
extension of public sector closures through April 30. Nonessential movement is restricted during the month of
Ramadan, though the government has eased restrictions in Aqaba.
Kuwait Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals who have departed mainland China, Hong Kong, Iran, Ministry of Health
Iraq, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Philippines, or Sri Lanka
within the past 14 days. Foreigners who have transited the aforementioned countries in the past 14 days may
not disembark at Kuwaiti ports. Kuwait has closed its international airport and the land border with Iraq; Saudi
Arabia has closed its border with Kuwait, cutting off access to the country via land. Inbound flights are only
available to legal residents. Residents entering the country are subject to a 14-day institutional quarantine upon
arrival. Foreigners wishing to leave the country may do so between April 1-30 on outbound commercial flights.
On April 16, officials announced extensions of residency cards until May 31. A domestic curfew is in effect from
1600-0800 daily.
Lebanon Officials have closed Beirut International Airport, all maritime ports, and all land borders to travelers. Diplomats, Ministry of Public Health
staff working for international institutions, and UNIFIL mission staff are exempt. A curfew from 2000-0500 and
stay-at-home order are in effect through May 10.
Libya All land and sea border crossings are closed. International flights are suspended, with some exceptions for Ministry of Health

Pakistan All inbound commercial, chartered, and private flights are suspended until at least April 30; cargo flights are National Institute of

Palestinian All returning legal residents will be quarantined for 14 days. Foreign visitors are denied entry into the West Ministry of Health
Territory Bank. Entry points into Gaza are closed to nonessential travel. A ban on intercity travel is in effect.
Qatar Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals, including those with active residency permits ("Q Ministry of Public Health
ID"); Qatari nationals are also subject to an exit ban. Returning citizens and residents must self-quarantine for
14 days. All inbound passenger flights to Doha's Hamad International Airport are suspended for the duration of
the entry ban. Cargo and transit flights, and commercial flights carrying only Qatari citizens, are exempt.
Arriving Qatari and GCC citizens must present their passports rather than their ID cards. Public transportation
has been suspended and face masks are mandatory in public.
Saudi Arabia Authorities have suspended all international travel and tourist visas, as well as travel to Mecca and Medina. Ministry of Health
Individuals who have departed mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Iran, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain,
Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Italy, or South Korea in the past 14 days will not be allowed entry regardless of visa
or residency status. The causeway between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, as well as land borders with the UAE,
Kuwait, and Jordan, are open only to commercial traffic (goods and cargo). Authorities have suspended all
domestic flights (except humanitarian missions) until further notice. Other forms of intercity travel including

Somalia All arriving and departing international flights are suspended. Authorities in the Gedo region have closed land Ministry of Health
border crossings with Kenya and Ethiopia. Officials have enacted a nightly 2000-0500 curfew beginning April 15.
Sudan Authorities have closed all points of entry including airports, seaports, and land border crossings until at least Ministry of Health
May 20. A nationwide curfew is in effect from 2000-0600. Bus services between cities and states are suspended. Ministry of Foreign
Humanitarian, commercial, and technical support shipments are exempt from movement restrictions. A three- Affairs
week lockdown is being enforced in Khartoum and Omdurman beginning April 18.
Syria Authorities have suspended all international passenger flights to/from Damascus International Airport. Officials Ministry of Health
have closed land borders to all persons, including Syrian nationals; cargo shipments are may still cross following
medical screening. Nonessential domestic travel is restricted; during the month of Ramadan, authorities are
enforcing a nightly 1930-0600 curfew.
Tunisia Authorities have closed all borders, including land and sea borders. All international flights are suspended. Ministry of Public Health
Domestic travel is limited by an enforced lockdown restricting nonessential movement. A nightly curfew is in
place from 2000-0600 during the month of Ramadan.
United Arab Authorities have suspended all arriving international flights; cargo and emergency flights are exempt. Departing Ministry of Foreign
Emirates international flights are limited. Passengers are subject to rapid COVID-19 testing before boarding flights. A Affairs and International
passport is required to enter the country, as Customs and Border officers are not currently accepting inbound Cooperation (MOFAIC)
travelers’ Gulf Cooperation Council identity cards. All GCC citizens entering the UAE will be tested for COVID-19 MOFAIC
on arrival and quarantined for 14 days. The issuance of visas, including visas on arrival and transit visas, has
been suspended. Valid visa holders currently outside the country, including residence visas holders, will not be
allowed to enter. The move does not affect the ability of individuals whose visas were issued prior to March 17
to enter the UAE. A nighttime curfew has been relaxed to 2200-0600 for the month of Ramadan, including in
Dubai, which was previously under a 24-hour lockdown.
Yemen Officials have closed the borders to passenger travel; cargo, humanitarian aid, and relief shipments are still Ministry of Health and
permitted to cross. Houthi authorities have stopped all flights to/from Sana’a, including humanitarian flights. Population
The internationally recognized Hadi government has also canceled all flights to/from airports under their

Bulgaria Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign travelers. Travelers arriving from Italy, Spain, France, the UK, Ministry of Health
Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, as well as Swiss nationals, may only transit through Bulgaria if
returning to their country of residence. Thermal cameras are in use at airports in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, and
Plovdiv. Passenger and cargo vessels arriving at Varna and Burgas seaports are subject to physical inspection;
any suspected COVID-19 cases will be transferred to a hospital and the remaining individuals will be
quarantined aboard the vessel. Schools and nonessential businesses are closed; individuals must wear face

Norway* Authorities have closed all airports and seaports to international arrivals and are enforcing an entry ban on Norwegian Institute of
foreign nationals through May 5. Norwegian nationals are permitted to return and must self-quarantine; the Public Health
government reportedly plans to repatriate those abroad. Enhanced control measures are in place along the
Norwegian-Swedish border. Health professionals are not permitted to leave the country. As of April 18, officials
began gradually easing restrictions on schools, with certain businesses following suit April 27.
Poland* Officials are enforcing an entry ban on non-resident foreign nationals through at least May 9. International Ministry of Health
commercial flights and rail connections are also suspended during this period. Land borders will remain closed Government

France, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, the US, the UK and Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Iran Affairs
may be unavailable. Travelers who have departed or transited a country with more than 500 COVID-19 cases in Ministry of Health

San Marino Authorities have canceled flights from mainland China and Italy. Travelers who may have had contact with Ministry of Health

Turkmenistan Officials have suspended all international travel and have closed all land border crossings, except to essential Ministry of Health
workers and returning citizens, until May 20; all travelers are required to provide a medical certification to enter
the country. Limited media reports state that officials have sealed off the capital, Ashgabat, to all passenger

Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. All travelers who have returned from the following areas in the past

India No international commercial passenger flights may land in India March 22-May 3. Travelers from Afghanistan, Press Information
Philippines, Malaysia, the EU, European Free Trade Association countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Bureau
Switzerland), Turkey, and the UK are prohibited from entering via air, land, or sea. All existing visas (except
those issued to Diplomats, Officials, UN/International Organizations, and for employment) are suspended
March 13-May 3. Visa-free travel for Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders is suspended until May 3. All
individuals traveling from Italy or South Korea must provide a certificate proving that they have tested negative
for COVID-19. All individuals who have departed China, Iran, France, Spain, Germany, UAE, Qatar, Oman, and
Kuwait must undergo a 14-day quarantine. Screenings are being conducted at 21 airports, 12 major seaports,
65 minor seaports, and many land border crossings, predominantly with Nepal. Suspected COVID-19 cases may
be subject to a 14-day quarantine. Lockdowns and stay-home orders are in effect, but restrictions vary state-
by-state. Forms of domestic travel—including flights, rail, bus and taxi travel—have been suspended until at

least May 3; however, air cargo and port operations have been allowed to resume. As of April 25, officials have
begun to ease lockdown restrictions, with the re-opening of small neighborhood shops.
Indonesia Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreigner travelers (excluding those holding certain permits) until Ministry of Health
June 2. Returning Indonesian nationals will be quarantined for 14 days and must have a health certificate.
Enhanced control measures are in place at all land border crossings to detect potentially infected individuals.
Travelers who wish to visit Indonesia within the next month must obtain a health certificate from their home
country and apply for a visa from Indonesian missions, as visas-on-arrival and visa exemptions are suspended
until further notice. Domestic movement restrictions include closures of schools and nonessential businesses, a
ban on gatherings of more than 5 people, and limits on the number of passengers permitted on public buses,
trains, aircraft, ships, and in private cars.
Maldives Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals originating from, transiting, or with a history of Ministry of Health
travel to the following locations: Italy; Iran; China; Spain; Malaysia; North and South Gyeongsang Provinces,
South Korea; Bangladesh; Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg, Germany; Île-de-France
and Grand Est, France; the UK; and Sri Lanka. Visas-on-arrival are suspended. All returning travelers are subject
to health screening and will be quarantined for 14 days. Officials have suspended the entry of all cruise liners.
All public transportation is also suspended. A 24-hour curfew is in effect in the Greater Malé area (Malé,
Vilimalé, and Hulhumalé) – all persons are prohibited from leaving home, entering/exiting the area, and
traveling between islands until at least May 1.
Myanmar Officials have suspended international passenger flights until May 15. Land borders are closed to all foreign Ministry of Health
nationals. Officials are also enforcing a complete entry ban on any foreign travelers who have departed the
following areas in the past 14 days: Hubei Province, China; and Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province, South Korea.
Authorities have suspended visas-on-arrival and e-visas for all foreign nationals until April 30. Arriving travelers
(foreigners and local nationals) must present evidence of negative COVID-19 testing performed within the last
72 hours and will be quarantined for 21 days. Travel in and out of the Mandalay region is suspended until at
least April 30, and travel in the Yangon region is suspended until at least May 11. Overnight curfews are in
effect in many regions of the country through the end of April.
Nepal Authorities have suspended all arriving international flights until at least May 15. Land borders with Ministry of Health
surrounding nations are also closed, effectively sealing off all points of entry until further notice. From March Ministry of Foreign

areas: all of Europe, West Asia, the Gulf Region, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea, and Japan. Visas-upon-arrival
have been suspended for foreign nationals until May 15. Foreigners may apply for visas at the Nepali mission or
consulate in their home country and must submit a health certificate. Arriving individuals are instructed to self-
quarantine for 14 days following date of entry. A nationwide lockdown is in effect until May 7; individuals may
only leave home to obtain food and medical services.
North Korea There are reports that authorities have suspended flights and closed land borders with all neighboring DPRK Ministry of Foreign
countries. All returning local nationals are subject to health screening, and suspected COVID-19 cases will Affairs

Sri Lanka International airports are closed to most commercial passenger flights, though some flights are permitted to Ministry of Health
depart as long as all passengers are originating from Colombo. Travelers who have departed Iran, Italy, or

Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Qatar, South Korea, Spain, and
Sweden. Visas-on-arrival are suspended for Chinese nationals. All existing visas issued to individuals not yet in
the country are suspended. All passengers arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport are subject to health
screening and must complete passenger locator cards; suspected COVID-19 cases will undergo a medical
evaluation at the airport. Confirmed cases will be quarantined at an infectious disease hospital. Domestic travel
is limited by local curfews and a nationwide lockdown until at the end of April.
Thailand Arriving international flights are suspended through at least May 1. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on non- Ministry of Public Health
resident foreign nationals; diplomats and their families, and workers with work visas, are exempt. All Thai
citizens and residents transiting areas listed by the WHO as locations with local COVID-19 transmission must
self-quarantine for 14-days. Visas-on-arrival are suspended for the following countries: Bulgaria, Bhutan, China,
Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia,
Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, and Vanuatu. Maritime passengers and crews must submit a COVID-19
negative medical certificate, a list of their last 10 ports, and a record of their body temperature checks for the
past week before they may disembark. Domestic travel is limited by locally enforced lockdowns in many areas,
including curfews and stay-at-home orders.
Timor-Leste Officials are enforcing an entry ban on non-resident foreign nationals until further notice. Timor-Leste residents Ministry of Health
and citizens returning from abroad will be quarantined for 14 days. Domestic restrictions include a ban on
religious events and all other gathering of 5 or more people, mandatory use of face masks, and school closures.

Cambodia Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals traveling from France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Spain, Ministry of Health
and the US until further notice. All travelers entering Cambodia, including migrant workers and citizens, must Press Office of the Council

needs” are exempt. Arriving international flights are being redirected to specific first-entry cities, where all
local nationals and exempt travelers will be quarantined for 14 days. Ports of entry are closed for travel other
than cross-border cargo transport; river and seaports of entry are suspended. Social distancing and hygiene-
focused measures are mandatory in businesses and public areas. Individual provinces are enforcing
lockdowns on a case-by-case basis.
Cook Islands Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers except citizens and residents of the Cook Islands, New Ministry of Health
Zealand, and Australia. All persons wishing to enter the Cook Islands must quarantine in New Zealand for 14
days and proceed directly to Rarotonga thereafter. Officials have banned all cruise ships, pleasure crafts, and
yachts from entering Cook Island waters until June 30. As of April 20, most domestic movement restrictions
have been lifted, contingent on public adherence to social distance measures.
Fiji Officials are enforcing an entry ban on non-residents who have departed China, Spain, Italy, Iran, the US, the Ministry of Health
UK, Europe, or South Korea in the past 14 days. All travelers arriving from international locations are
instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days. Health screening measures are in place for all international
passengers, while enhanced measures have been implemented for flights originating in Hong Kong and
Singapore. All travelers must complete passenger locator cards at points of entry. Officials have banned
international cruise ship calls at any Fijian ports. Scheduled flight operations are suspended at Nadi Airport.
Domestic travel is limited by enforced curfew from 2000-0500, as well as the lockdown of Lautoka and Suva.
Recreational establishments remain closed and public gatherings banned.
Hong Kong Non-residents arriving by air from any location other than mainland China, Macao, and Taiwan will be denied Government of Hong
(China SAR) entry until June 18. Hong Kong residents and non-residents arriving from mainland China, Macao, or Taiwan Kong
with no travel to any third country in the past 14 days will be subject to a 14-day compulsory quarantine.
Hong Kong International Airport has suspended all transit services. All arriving travelers are issued an
electronic tracking band and must download a smartphone app, which will alert the authorities if the band is
removed or an individual disobeys quarantine rules. Authorities have extended social distancing directives
until May 7, including the closure of nonessential businesses and bans on gatherings of 4 or more people.
Japan Officials are enforcing an entry ban on travelers who have departed any of several countries in the past 14 Ministry of Justice
days. Travelers arriving from several additional countries will be quarantined for 14 days. State of emergency
restrictions have been extended until May 6 and include the closure of schools and government-run public
areas, and stay-at-home orders if mandated by the city.

Kiribati All travelers arriving from countries with ongoing local transmission of COVID-19 must spend 14 days in a Ministry of Public Health
country not affected by COVID-19 and provide medical clearance before they are allowed entry. All incoming and Medical Services
travelers must complete health declaration forms and provide copies of e-tickets; international travelers will
be subject to temperature screening upon arrival.
Laos Officials have closed all land borders to both entry and exit, and flights to China are suspended. Tourist visa, Ministry of Health
eVisa, and visa-on-arrival issuance are suspended for all foreign nationals and all former country visa
exemptions have been revoked. All foreigners holding a previously approved entry visa may enter but must
obtain health clearance within 14 days of arrival and complete travel history declarations. All local nationals
arriving from countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases must self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival.
Arriving travelers are subject to thermal screening; any individual suspected of having COVID-19 is placed
under enforced quarantine in a public hospital in Vientiane. Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 must
be treated locally and will not be permitted to seek treatment in neighboring countries. Domestic travel is
restricted by a nationwide lockdown until May 3. Individuals may only leave their residences for essential
services.
Macao Flights to/from Macao International Airport are suspended. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on Macao Health Bureau
nonresident foreign nationals; residents of mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan who have traveled Macao COVID Page
abroad in the previous 14 days have also been banned from entry. Mainland Chinese – excluding those from
Hubei Province – may enter but will be placed under medical surveillance. All travelers are subject to medical
screening; symptomatic individuals will be quarantined for 14 days at a medical facility. Schools will resume
classes on May 4.
Malaysia International flights departing Penang International Airport are suspended; flights are being redirected to Ministry of Health
Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals and an exit
ban on Malay nationals until April 28. Returning local nationals must undergo a health screening and will be
quarantined for 14 days. Severe domestic movement restrictions, such as roadblocks and operating time
blocks for businesses, are in place until May 12.
Marshall Islands Officials are enforcing an entry ban on international travelers arriving by air until May 5; domestic flights are Embassy of the Republic
restricted to Air Marshall Islands only. All cruise ships and yachts are denied entry. Departing international of the Marshall Islands
flights are severely limited. Any traveler who has visited or transited the following locations since Dec. 31,

2019, is barred from entry by sea: mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, South Korea, Italy, Japan, Iran,
Germany, France, and Spain. All travelers must complete a health screening form upon arrival.
Micronesia Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign travelers through May 31. Returning local nationals and FSM National
residents will be quarantined for 14 days. Citizens arriving in Pohnpei are denied entry, as quarantine Government
facilities are full as of March 23; arrivals are permitted in the states of Yup and Chuuk, where quarantine
facilities are still available. Micronesian citizens are barred from traveling to the following locations: Hubei
Province, China; the US; Japan; and Australia (with certain exceptions). As of April 17, Yap state is under
nightly curfew from 1900-0600.
Mongolia Foreigners are barred from entry until April 30. Commercial flights, passenger rail, auto, and pedestrian Ministry of Health
traffic in/out of Mongolia, as well as domestic intercity travel, are suspended. Repatriation may be possible
through the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Domestic travel is limited by the lockdown of Ulaanbaatar
and all province centers. Business closures and a ban on public gatherings are ongoing until April 30, while
schools will remain closed until September 1. The use of face masks is mandatory while in public.
Nauru Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers arriving via air- or seaports who have departed or Government of Nauru
transited mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Korea, Europe, the US, Asia (except Taiwan), or Iran in the past
21 days. Any traveler directly or indirectly involved with the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship, the Grand
Princess Cruise Ship, or any other cruise ship with confirmed COVID-19 cases is also barred from entry.
Travelers who have undergone a medical screening and quarantine up to 14 days with certification from a
recognized health authority, and those who complete a passenger locator card, are exempt.
New Caledonia All forms of international transportation are suspended. Foreign travelers are subject to an entry ban. Ministry of Health
Returning residents must receive medical certification within 3 days of arrival and self-quarantine for 14 days
after arrival. Suspected COVID-19 cases will be quarantined for 14 days at the International Sport and
Expertise Center (CISE) in Dumbéa. Officials require symptomatic travelers to be quarantined and tested in
Médipôle. Beginning April 20, officials have announced the easing of restrictions; businesses, restaurants,
and schools will reopen, and internal flights will resume. Gatherings remain limited to groups of 50 or fewer
people, and attendees must leave a contact number in the event that an outbreak occurs.
New Zealand An entry ban on foreign travelers remains in effect; however, as of April 17, officials are allowing for Ministry of Health
residents and citizens to transit the country who then must quarantine at a designated facility. A nationwide

State of Emergency remains in effect, but officials plan to begin easing lockdowns and allow schools and
some businesses to reopen in early May. As of April 25, only essential travel is permitted.
Niue Individuals who have departed China in the past 30 days are barred from entry. Prior to entry, all travelers Government of Niue
are required to stay at least 14 days in a country with no reported COVID-19 cases and must obtain medical
clearance 3 days prior to arrival.
Palau Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign nationals who have departed or transited through Ministry of Health
mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao in the past 14 days; local nationals and residents returning from the
aforementioned areas will be quarantined for 14 days. Health screenings are in effect at Palau International
Airport in Airai and Malakal Seaport to detect symptomatic passengers and crew who may have traveled
through areas with COVID-19 cases, particularly Wuhan, China. Officials have restricted cruise ship calls –
ships may dock if they have not called in any COVID-19 affected areas and all passengers have not traveled
to/from affected areas in the past 14 days. Authorities have extended all travel restrictions through April 30.
Papua New All travelers entering the country must obtain official authorization from the Emergency Controller. Citizens Ministry of Health
Guinea and residents arriving in Port Moresby will be quarantined at a government facility. Arriving and departing
international flights are banned, although exceptions may be made for diplomats and health workers. Land
and sea border crossings with Indonesia, Australia, Micronesia, and the Solomon Islands are suspended.
Travel to/from Western Province, Sandaun, and East New Britain is prohibited.
Philippines Officials are enforcing an entry ban for all foreign nationals; visa-free privileges are suspended. International Ministry of Health
flights are limited. Travelers purchasing plane tickets are recommended to obtain a Quarantine Certificate. Travel Advisory
The island of Luzon, including Manila, is under quarantine; air travel to Luzon is restricted and public
transportation is suspended, though exceptions have been made for the repatriation of foreign citizens.
Various provinces have lockdowns in place through May 15. Provinces have also implemented their own
overnight curfews, most between 2000-0500.
Samoa Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals. Authorities have suspended all flights to/from Ministry of Health
Samoa and have limited seaport access to Apia to cargo ships only – health screenings must occur at a
quarantine buoy before the vessel is permitted to dock. Returning Samoan nationals and residents must
complete a health declaration form and have undergone a medical examination within 5 days prior to arrival.
On April 15, authorities announced the resumption of inter-island travel and public transportation amid
partial easing of emergency restrictions. The Upolu-Savii Ferry will resume operations four days per week.

Social distancing measures are still being enforced, gathering are limited to groups of 5 people, business
hours are limited, and schools remain closed.
Singapore Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all non-resident foreign nationals; residents returning from the UK Ministry of Health
and the US will be quarantined in a hotel for 14 days. All Singaporean citizens, permanent residents, and Advisory April 24
long-term pass holders who depart Singapore and return will be quarantined for 14 days – those hospitalized
with suspected COVID-19 cases of will forfeit their government healthcare subsidies for their treatment. As
of April 14, face masks are required in public spaces. Nonessential workplaces are closed, and social
distancing measures are in effect until at least May 4.
Solomon Islands All foreigners are subject to an entry ban. Legal residents will be permitted entry but are subject to a 14-day Ministry of Foreign Affairs
quarantine. Munda Airport is closed, and international flights are severely limited.
South Korea Officials are enforcing an entry ban on travel from Hubei Province, China. All arrivals, including local Ministry of Health
nationals, will be quarantined for 14 days. While in quarantine, travelers must download a self-diagnosis
mobile app and answer questions daily. Officials have suspended the visa-waiver program for Japanese
travelers. Beginning April 13, all valid short-term/single day visas issued before April 5 are suspended.
Domestic travel restrictions have eased; however, citizens are still encouraged to follow social distancing
guidelines and avoid large crowds.
Tokelau Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all foreign travelers. Legal residents arriving from locations with Ministry of Health
confirmed COVID-19 cases will also be denied entry. Nationals and permanent residents returning from
countries with no confirmed COVID-cases must be medically cleared 3 days before entry.
Tonga Officials are enforcing an entry ban on nonresident foreign nationals; land borders are closed. Returning Government of the
Tongan nationals, residents, visa-holders, and those with special permission from the MoH must complete Kingdom of Tonga
travel declaration forms and present proof of medical clearance within 3 days prior to arrival. Authorities
have suspended all flights to Tonga until at least June 12. Exceptions will be made for international flights
approved by the MoH. All vessels must first enter Tongatapu before traveling to other islands; officials have
banned cruise ship calls. A nationwide state of emergency is in effect until May 15.
Tuvalu Officials are enforcing an entry ban on all travelers who have departed China in the past 30 days. Travelers Government of Tuvalu
from other locations where COVID-19 is present must obtain medical clearance 3 days prior to arrival and
remain in a country with no reported cases for at least 5 days before being allowed entry. All travelers are

subject to health screening upon arrival at Funafuti airport and seaport, Nausori (Fuji) Airport, and Tarawa
(Kiribati) Airport.
Vanuatu All ports of entry are effectively closed, and outgoing international flights are limited. Travel to/from Ministry of Health
countries with more than 100 COVID-19 cases is prohibited. Domestic commercial flights are also suspended.
Vietnam Officials are enforcing an entry ban on foreign nationals, including foreign ethnic Vietnamese who were Ministry of Health
previously authorized to travel to Vietnam visa-free. Immigration offices have reopened as of April 23 for
foreign nationals who overstayed while in quarantine. Returning Vietnamese nationals and residents are
subject to a 14-day quarantine. Officials have allowed flights to resume at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports.
A nationwide lockdown has been lifted beginning April 23, though the villages of Ha Loi, outside of Hanoi,
Ngo Khe, and certain districts of Hanoi must remain in quarantine until at least May 6. Public transportation
services nationwide are suspended.
