Hundreds gather at Stone Mountain

Park for Easter Sunrise Service
76th Annual Sunrise Service
Each year hundreds of guests take to the top of the Stone
Mountain to celebrate Easter morning, and this year was no
different. This year the park hosted its 76th Easter Sunrise
Service, a non-denominational service consisting of
inspirational words and music.

This year's service also included special guest, gospel singer

Lashun Pace.

“This was an exhilarating experience, as usual,” said Ashley, a

yearly attendee of the event, “Our family makes the walk to the
top of the mountain every year for this event.”

The service started at 7 a.m., but some got there as early as 3

a.m. Another service was located at the base of the mountain
for those guests who could not make it to the top. Both
services featured sign language interpreters for hearing
impaired guests.

“This was a beautiful way for my family to spend our Easter

morning," said Corey, a first time guest of this year's service.

After the service ended, many people stayed behind and spent
the rest their Easter enjoying some of the parks other
attractions.

New animal attractions

coming to the Farmyard

Stone Mountain Park invites guest to the

Farmyard to experience the new Goat
101. Here families will have an interactive
experience seeing goats perform some of
their new tricks. This experience will also
allow guest to see how our goats learn,
while learning a little bit about goats
themselves.

More attractions includes a new turtle

creek, rabbit exhibit, updated petting zoo,
and a new animal story time segment.

In addition, there will be two new

additions coming to the Farmyard, Lewis
and Clark. They are recuse piglets all the
way from the Central Texas Pig Rescue.

All of these new attractions are expected

to be debuted this summer starting in
June.
