Operation Manual
1. Summary
PD271 Series intelligent digital instruments are designed for easy operation through the front panel
keys, matching with various load cells and pressure transducers. This instrument offers a solution for
various industrial control processes.

6. Front panel:
(1) ‘OUT’ LED turns on when the load exceeds the preset OUT value.
‘AL-1’ LED turns on when the load exceeds the preset AL-1 value.
‘AL-2’ LED turns on when the load exceeds the preset AL-2 value.
(2) ‘CAE’ LED turns on when the <CAE> is pressed for checking the calibration.
(3) PV window displays the actual load value.
(4) SV window displays the set OUT value.
(5) <CAE> key: to check the calibration value (80% of Full Scale Output), and to clear the load value when it is
under SETTING status and no load is applied.
(6) <SET> key: to enter the setting mode and to exit the setting mode.
(7) ‘>’ key: shift the digit to be modified.
(8) ‘/\’ key: to modify and increase the value.

7. Operating flow chart


AL-1: assistant layout -1; AL-2: assistant layout -2; ‘I’: current; ‘J’: relay.

7.1 Press <SET> key:

Normal display mode

Press <SET> key to enter OUT alarm value setting screen. Press ‘> /\’ to change when needed.
Set OUT value Press <SET> once more to save the setting value and enter the next menu.

This setting menu comes out only when alarm-1 is as ‘PHJ, PLJ’ relay output. Press ‘> /\’ to

This menu does not exist when ‘AL-1’ is selected as ‘I’.

SET Alarm 1 This setting menu comes out only when alarm-2 is as ‘PHJ, PLJ’ relay output. Press ‘> /\’ to
change when needed. Press <SET> once more to save the setting value and enter the next menu.
This menu does not exist when ‘AL-2’ is selected as ‘I’.

7.2 from normal DSP state press <SET> key and hold it for 3 seconds:

Press <SET> key and hold it for 3 seconds to enter AC menu. Press <CAE> key to clear the load
‘AC’-clear DSP display and enter the next menu. Or press <SET> key to enter the next menu.

In the menu, the capacity is set. Press ‘>’ key, the editable digit starts blinking. Press ‘>’ and /\’
ED Capacity key to change when needed. Press <SET> key to save the set value and enter the next menu. It is
not allowed to set the value as ‘0000’.

80%FS calibration In this menu, press <CAE> to do 80%FS calibration. Before doing this calibration, the transducer
should be well connected and no load is applied. The next menu will appear after the calibration.

ESCL calibration ZERO and SPAN calibration is performed in this menu. For zero calibration, connect the
transducer and do not apply a load, then press ‘>’ key. At this moment, a word ‘LOAD’ appears
in SV window. Now apply full scale load onto the transducer, then press ‘>’ key. The calibration
is now finished and the next menu comes out.

Useful notes:
At any menu other than the normal DSP state, press <set> key and hold for 3 seconds to return to the normal
DSP state.
The normal DSP state is the state of PV/SV after the indicator is powered on.

8. Maintenance
The indicator guarantee term is 12 months leave factory. When the guarantee period is expired, BCM will charge
for the repair service. However, if the products are under the guarantee period but are damaged due to wrong
operation, BCM can only provide repair service with charge.
