Further Comments
Hunter Gosse rose to the challenge of teaching two very diverse classes, EWC4UI and ENG1PI. The Writer's Craft Course
allows for creativity and flexibility. Hunter was able to bring his expertise gained while in university in bringing relevant
experience to the non-fiction unit. In the applied grade 9 English course, Hunter was able to develop his classroom
management skills by providing structured lesson plans to add to the novel study unit. Over the 5 lessons, he was able to
implement various strategies to engage the reluctant learners and see progress in their understanding of the material. He
quickly established rapport to mitigate negative behaviour. Hunter also observed various other classrooms throughout the
school and was exposed to a variety of teaching styles.
