"Finals: Self Portrait”

   For my finals output of expressing myself, I think I’ll be doing spoken poetry. I will
write my own poem since I already have experience in writing that sort of stuff. Though I
have not decided yet whether to write it in English or Filipino. I choose this form of art
because in my personal opinion, it is the best way of expressing one’s emotions and
true feelings. I also believe that one’s personality also reflect on how they talk and
deliver the verse in a poem. I also chose poetry as a way to express myself because I
am very fond of poetry. I love listening to spoken poetries made by both Filipino and
foreign artists. Some of my idols in spoken poetry are Juan Miguel Severro and Brian
Vee. They were one of the first artists that does spoken poetry that I listened to. The
first spoken poetry that I wrote actually followed their pattern in making a poem and I
wrote it almost two years ago. I already have experience in writing poetry prior to that
but that was the first time I wrote my own spoken poetry and also performed it for an
audience in our event.
