This study examines the effects of gender on recruitment of salespeople in Turkey,
an emerging economy with a male-dominated society where historical and cultural
values have frequently limited women’s employment opportunities. Based on 16
interviews with male and female recruiters from four industries actively hiring
productive salespeople, the study addresses gender effect on recruiting of men and
women for sales positions in Turkey. The findings of this qualitative study provide an

4.  Womens real estate Malaysia –

this paper will discuss on WIRE participation and involvement in Malaysia’s Real
Estate Sector (MRES). Over the years women participation in Malaysia’s labour force
has gradually increased. Equal access to the educational opportunities could be a
significant driver for the growing contribution of WIRE in MRES. Despite the
immense challenges being faced by the WIRE, many great opportunities could also
been seen to potentially excel their professionalism

The following two papers I couldn’t get access to and will re-visit them:

1. women in real estate in Nigeria –

This study evaluates the women discrimination in the real estate industry in Lagos
State, Nigeria. A total of seventy-eight (78) Estate Surveying and Valuation firms were
randomly selected in the study area, Forty-five (45) questionnaires were retrieved and
analysed using descriptive statistics. The study found that there were more male
Estate Surveyors and Valuers than female in the study area. Most of the female
estate surveyors and valuers are attached to property management departments of
their firms and the challenges they encounter range from difficulty in balancing work
and the home front to the fact that women are seen as not being capable of
practicing the profession amongst others.

2. women in ‘out’ of office sales –
Many women professionals traverse settings beyond the office in their work, but
research on women professionals rarely follows them out of the office. Using a
large, archived data set of focus groups with sales professionals, the authors ask
how work in out-of-the-office settings affects women’s careers.
