INTERNATIONAL POLITICS

ACTIVITY TO REPLACE THE MIDTERM

Subject: All States are powerful but some states are more
powerful than others.

Who is the strongest?

There are areas where many countries in the world are strong. Such as economic potential,
military power, technological power etc. Each of these is important and complementary. The
absence and inadequacy of one affects others. There is also the factor of national unity and
solidarity, which constitute the inner strength of a country. Countries that are strong in
many of these power factors are the strongest countries in the world.

Economic Potential - Technological Power

There are two important factors that will make a country stronger than other countries. In
order to have a voice in the world, it is necessary to well trained in these two basic areas.
One of the factor is economy and the other is technology. A technologically developed
country means economically advanced. The fact that a country with an economic power
provides more resources to technology and industry means that that country earns more,
gets stronger and has a voice in the world. In today's world, most of the technology's market
share is controlled by countries that attach importance to domestic industry such as the
USA, Germany, Russia, Japan and China. As a result, states that want to become global
power in the 21st century must care to domestic industry, space researches and satellite
technologies.
Military Power
Military power has a special place among the factors that make states strong. It is
influenced by all of the other power. The more effective the other power factors of the
states, the stronger the military power. What makes military power different is the
assurance of all other forces. In the 21st century where we live the information age, the
military power of the countries depends not on the capabilities in the field of war, but on the
successes in the defense industry. The USA and Russia, which hold nearly 90 percent of
nuclear warheads and have a strong defense industry, are the two countries that control the
world in terms of military power. As a result, a country's achievements in industry and
technology show its military strength. Countries with developed military power, thanks to
their strong industries, will have a voice in international politics today and in the future.

National Unity and Solidarity

Military and economic power factors are not enough to protect a state from external
threats and become a global power. If states want to be stronger than other states in the
international arena, they should also provide unity and solidarity within the country.
Communities living in solidarity have a sense of responsibility towards each other. This
emotion strengthens national unity and solidarity. It is not easy to destroy states that have
this power. Although not have a strong economy, we can give the example of Turkey.
Turkey, a society organized quickly against any external threats. He has shown the example
of this many times in history. In short, national unity and solidarity unite all individuals of the
society around the same goal. Thus, it improves social power.

In conclusion, in the information age we live, who will be the strongest will determine the
priorities of the states. Countries that prioritize science, space, technology and
industrialization will have a voice in international politics. The states that succeed in all but
not only one of the areas that determine the power of the state are the strongest.
