My major is Piano Performance in George Mason. However, I am also interested

in Music Education. Therefore, I will study the field of Music Education in this

project. Music education is mainly to train students to become music teachers through

the basic theory of music performance, basic teaching skills, and art practice

knowledge.

The purpose of my project is to help other international students have a better

understanding of Music Education. Thus, my project is divided into four parts. My

first part is professor research. I will introduce a professor in the Music Education

department, and I will also introduce what articles he has published. My second part is

journal analysis. I will choose a journal about Music Education, and I will introduce

the impact and background of this journal on Music Education and the audience of

this journal. My third part is article analysis. I will present an article about Music

Education, and this article is about the music teaching experience of music teachers. I

will analyze this article’s structure. The last part is language analysis. I will analyze

the article’s that I choose in my third part language and grammar, and I will also list

some language features that I think are characteristic of my field to analyze.

The value of my project can help those students and music teachers who learn

music to get better teaching experience and help them cope with some difficulties
when they are teaching, and this can help teachers and students have better

preparation in the future. Therefore, this project will help other international students

who are not studying Music to have a deeper understanding of music teachers and

Music Education, and it also allows me to learn how to become a music teacher in the

future.
