Kathy Dunne’s Physics Class

I observed Dr. Kathy Dunne’s physics classroom in April of 2019. She teaches at Western High School
in North Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the layout of her class.

This room was designed very nice and made it easy for the students to learn. She had many
materials accessible for the students and had a design which made it easy for her to keep an eye on
each student. Her goal was for the students to work in groups which I found very helpful. This gave
students the opportunity to learn how to work as a team.

Dr. Dunne had a layout which created a warm environment for the students who were in her
classroom. The items were organized well, and the room was free of clutter. She had many posters
on the wall with encouraging statements and posted all the rules for the students to see clearly.

I admire her for her teaching style incorporated with the way she set up her room. I didn’t find any
flaws and I would follow this layout as a teacher.
