Professor Research

The professor I am researching on is Richard Klimoski who is a professor of psychology

and management at George Mason University. “Richard Klimoski is known as one of the top 30

most influential industrial and organizational psychologists presently by the human resources

trade group. He did PhD in psychology and management from the Purdue University. Richard

klimoski has worked as the Vice-chair for the department of psychology in the Ohio State

University while being a visiting professor for many other universities”. [ CITATION Geo2 \l 1033 ]

“Richard Klimoski has been given many leading positions at George Mason University one

of them is which of being the director for the PhD courses of Applied Cognitive and

Industrial/Organizational programs. He is also appointed as the associate Dean for the School of

Business and Arts and sciences for Outreach. The professor field of research is based on

effective organizational leadership and dynamics of successful team work”[ CITATION Geo2 \l

Richard Klimoski’s work has been published in the journals based on his field of specialty

he has edited and written many articles some of them include researches on “Measurement and

Evaluation in Human Resources, The Nature of Organizational leadership, and Emotions in the

Workplace, the Handbook of Psychology, Vol. 12 (Industrial and Organizational Psychology)

and, one of his most recent one is Advancing Human Resource Management Projects” [ CITATION

Richard Klimoski has been providing his knowledge and expertise towards his field of

profession. “Many of his positions throughout his career have been the president for the Society

for Industrial and Organizational Psychological (SIOP), chairman of the Human Resources

Management Division of the Academy of Management (AOM) and has also been on the Board

of Governors of the AOM. Richard Klimoski has also edited for the Academy of Management

Review, and also has been the editor for the Academy of Management Learning and Educational

Journals and is presently the editor for the Organizational Frontier Books Series for the Society

for Industrial and Organizational Society” [ CITATION Geo2 \l 1033 ] There are other journals also

where Richard Klimoski acts as an editor.

“Richard Klimoski is among the board members of many non-profit organizations

(NGO’s) a few of them are the SIOP Foundation, SHRM Foundation, Workhouse Arts

Foundation and the Easter Seals of the Greater Washington Region” [ CITATION Geo2 \l 1033 ].

Richard Klimoski helps the foundations by helping them in finding new paths to learn and

market a more effective way of managing their staff and employees through consultation.

The reports given by Richard Klimoski about the study of psychological and

organizational management being mixed together to view management of human resources from

a different prospective has given me a deeper understanding of management and how it could be

utilized differently in the field and efficiently which helps me progress my studies and

understanding of management and psychology at a better level of understanding.
