Contractualization or ENDo (End Of Contract) has become a widespread practice in the Philippines.

It is a
temporary short-term employment for less than six months. At some point this have a positive points,
for the economy as it can increase the business’ profit or it provides a lower costs rather than having
regular employees. This can also be an advantage for some employers and employees especially
nowadays if the employees doesn’t want the job or the environment he entered, it is not hard for them
to resign and it will not cost the employers that much. But ENDo has also negative points, sometimes
this contractualization gives injustice to employees as this becomes a way to abuse their rights, it
doesn’t follow the law on security of tenure that talks about the employees termination. Also,
temporary employees doesn’t have the benefits just like what regular employees have just like the
amount of wage is not the same as to regular employees, the additional benefits for the employees
appreciation like a receiving a free ticket or coupon to services, and the benefits to SSS, PAG-IBIG, etc.
This negative points leads to a lose of hope of employees to have a better life for future. For me,
contractualization is fine as nowadays people looks like its hard for them to find what job can make
them happy that ends them to resign to work that costs employers but abusive practices of
contractualization should be abolished and be replaced to give what employers deserve that also means
to meet their rights.
