Essay about sustainable tourism

Tourism has become in an essential part of life, especially for new generations who
prefer to collect different experiences than, for instance, buy a house or have
children. Despite the fact that tourism could offer many advantages, the
government and society should be aware of the impact on people who live in each
country and environment. For this reason, it is relevant to provide some ways that
sustainable tourism might be achieved.

One of the advantages is the business opportunity; however, it must be exploited

bearing in mind local people. In this way, the correct implementation of tourism
helps to increase local infrastructure capacity, employment creation, and economic
development. Providing this employment to local people enhance community
empowerment and achieve that residents maintain regular incomes. Moreover, if
employment is increased, the country will have the possibility to attract more
investments.

On the other hand, what it could have more importance is to preserve the
environment and be conscious of the negative impact and carbon footprint that
persons are leaving for the planet. All we might do is to stop traveling;
nevertheless, realistically speaking, it is not going to happen. Alternatively, we can
consider protecting the natural world, in a responsible approach. It implicates
benefits for both, the host country and the tourists since if the country government
creates laws to protect fauna and flora, it will be able to continue exploring and
exploding tourism and tourists will be able to visit diverse places for a long time.

In conclusion, although providing employment might be positive for developers,

contractors, and stakeholders in general in a short term; it could be a better idea to
protect the environment through strict legislation due to the impact that it would
have in the future.
