First of all I would like to express my satisfaction to the almighty Allah for rendering me
ability and knowledge to prepare project. I would like to offer my earnest thanks and gratitude
to my responsible teacher MR. HASHIM BUTT. Has been instructor for this work.
I believe that the work on this study help me to better understand and increase my
knowledge on the overall aspect of automobile company .Through this project I came to know
about activities of automobile companies specially Volkswagen, and also Toyota, Ford,
Mercedes Benz Etc. hopefully all of this above work which is done through this project will be
helpful for my future career.
This project is part of the new series current studies for (BBA)
develop .the current studies was used the foreign direct investment. The
series aims to contribute understand of how transnational corporation (TNCs)
their activities impact on development .the present (BBA) studies quantifies
and analyses the past and current trend on the degree of internationalization
of the largest TNCs as well as TNCs from developing economics. It aims at
stimulating discussion and further research on the subject (international
business management) addressed. This project was study prepared
by under the overall guidance (Mr. HASHIM BUTT).
Company profile
The Volkswagen group with its headquarters in Wolfsburg is one
of the world’s leading automobile manufactures and largest carmaker in
Europe. In 2011, the group increased vehicles number of vehicles delivered
to customers to 8.265 million, corresponding to a 12.3 percent share of the
world passenger car market.
The group is made up of ten brands; Volkswagen, SEAT, SKODA,
BENTLEY, BUGATTI, LAMBORGHINI, Volkswagen commercial vehicles, scania
and MAN and operates 94 production plants in 18 European countries and a
further 8 countries in the Americas, Asia and Africa. Each working day
501956 employees worldwide produce some 34500 vehicles are involved in
vehicle related services or work in the other fields of business the
Volkswagen group sells it vehicles in 153 countries.

It designs, manufactures and distributes

Services including financing, leasing and fleet management. In 2016, it was the world's largest
automaker by sales, overtaking Toyota and keeping this title in 2017, 2018 and 2019 selling 10.9
million vehicles. It has maintained the largest market share in Europe for over two decades. It
ranked seventh in the 2018 fortune global 500 list of the world's largest companies. Volkswagen
group sells passenger cars under the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT,
Skoda and the flagship Volkswagen marques; motorcycles under the Ducati brand; and
TRATON (commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses) under the marques MAN, Scania, and
Volkswagen commercial vehicles. It is divided into two primary divisions, the automotive
division and the financial services division, and as of 2008 had approximately 342 subsidiary
companies. Volkswagen also has two major joint ventures in China (FAW-Volkswagen and
SAIC Volkswagen). The company has operations in approximately 150 countries and operates
100 production facilities across 27 countries.
Volkswagen was founded in 1937, to manufacture the car which would become known as the
beetle. The company's production grew rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s, and in 1965 it acquired
auto union, which subsequently produced the first post-war Audi models.
Volkswagen launched a new generation of front-wheel drive vehicles in the 1970s, including the
Passat, Polo and Golf; the latter became its bestseller. Volkswagen acquired a controlling stake
in SEAT in 1986, making it the first non-German marque of the company, and acquired control
of Skoda in 1994, of Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti in 1998, Scania in 2008 and of Ducati,
MAN and Porsche in 2012. The company's operations in China have grown rapidly in the past
decade with the country becoming its largest market. In June 2018, Volkswagen Trucks and
Buses which comprises the MAN, Scania, and RIO truck brands are renamed to TRATON AG
but the marques will not change, said by Andreas Renschler. Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft is a
public company and has a Primary listing on the Frankfurt stock exchange, where it is a
constituent of the euro Stoxx 50 stock market index, and secondary Listings on the Luxembourg
Stock exchange, SIX Swiss exchange. It has been traded in the United States via American
depositary receipts since 1988, currently on the OTC marketplace. Volkswagen delisted from the
London stock exchange in 2013.The state of Lower Saxony holds 12.7% of the company's
shares, granting it 20%.of the voting rights.
