TASK BASED LESSON PLAN

Level: B1

Topic: Asking for directions.

Time: 50min.

Material:

1. A poster with a drawn map. 2. Video about asking directions. 3. Sheet of paper.

Pre-task: 5min

Teacher begins asking if the ss know some vocabulary to ask or give directions. She/He writes the
given vocabulary in case ss say any, if not, the teacher gives and explains the vocabulary that they
are going to use for the class. Teacher has to write them on the board. Then, she/he gives
examples with the map.

Task: 5min

In groups of five, ss have to mention in a spoken way 5 places from the map describing the journey
they have to follow to get there.

Planning: 10min

Then, ss have to write individualy an invitation to their birthday part. But, they ask some
requirements to ingress. Because of that, they have to write the way to get to the place where the
party will be and, also, 6 more directions.

Reporting task: 10min

Students have to read their invitation in front of the class in order they finish the task.

Analysis: 10min

The teacher points the fails that the ss commited and the good aspects they did during the
presentation. She/He also ask for coments to the rest to the class.

Practice: 10 min

Teacher gives to the students a sheet of paper that they have to answer. This paper includes a
map and a list of things that the students have to “buy”, then, students have to write how they can
get to the different places to have the required objects.
