Lesson Content:

What do we use water for when we are at home?

When we are home we use water for
1. Cooking our meals.
2. Taking a shower.
3. Drinking water.
4. Flushing the toilet.
5. Brushing our teeth.
6. Washing our hair.
7. Washing our hands.

Skills: Students will engage in coloring and sticking

Attitudes: Students will gain appreciation and respect for other classmates
Suggested Activities/Procedures:
Introductory Activities (5 mins.):
Students will listen to a song about water usage at home. (4:17)
Developmental Activities/Procedures (30 mins.):
Students will:
1. Sit according to their group table (4 per table)
2. Color pictures of the different ways we use water at home.
3. After coloring the pictures, they will stick the pictures in their notebooks. For instance the picture that
shows brushing our teeth will go under the point that says we use water at home for brushing our teeth
and so forth.

This will be done after note taking. The note taking should only take approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

While the students are doing the activity the teacher can walk around and repeat the ways we use water at home,
perhaps include actions so the students might remember it better as oppose to just saying the word.

Culmination & Closure (10 mins.):

To wrap up the lesson the students will play a game called ‘show and tell’. This game is where each student will
come to the front of the class and do three actions that show how we use water at home. While showing the
actions other students from the class will be given the opportunity say what the action is.
