Ryotwari System :-
This was 1st Introduced in 1792, In Selam (dist ) of Madras
by Captain Reed.
This system was popularised by Sir Thomas Manroe. (Sub-
ordinate of captain Reed)
Sir Thomas Manroe Introduced Ryotwari system in 1803, in
Rayalaseema Area.
According to this method,Collectors under British Rule,
determine the land Revenue & Collect the land Revenue.
Initially Salarjung was Worked as Thalukdhar of Khammam
(Collector)
In Ryotwari System, Land Revenue is collected in the form
of Money.
Farmer directly pays the Land Revenue to the Govt
Land Revenue Tax is based on “Area Under Cultivation”.
If Crop Production Increases or decreases, there is no
change in land Revenue

NOTE :-
Before Ryotwari system , Bethayee system was in the
Nizam States Under this system, land Revenue is Collected
by middlemen.
Land Revenue Tax depends on the production of Crop.
For each Acre, land Revenue was 20%-25% in Ryotwari
system.
As a result of Ryotwari System, Revenue of State Increased
In 1864,Revenue Board was Estb.
In 1865, Zilla Bandhi Policy was Introduced.
Under this policy, in 1867 Hyd State was divided into 5 –
divisions they are as follows
State – Diwan
Divisions – SadarTaluqdhars
Districts – Taluqdhar
Taluqdas – Tahsildhar
Villages – Patel &Patwaries (Mansubdari) (karanam)
