Jonathan: I left my backpack on the bus this morning.

I have my
passport and all my credit cards inside. What do I need to do?
Officer: First of all, you need to call your bank and cancel your
credit and debit cards. Then you need to fill in a form, indicating
how you lost your passport. You need to give that form to me.
Jonathan: Is that all? I thought it was more complicated.
Officer: All I need to do is enter your information into our computer
system. Nobody can use your lost passport because it is invalid
now, but if you find your backpack with your passport, please call
us.
Jonathan: No problem.

911: This is 9-1-1. How can I help you?

Caller: There's a big fire in the building across from my house. A
lot of people live there.
911: What's your name, please?
Caller: Steve Watson.
911: What's your address?
Caller: It's 4054 Beaulac Avenue.
911: Sir, can you tell me where the building is?
Caller: I think it's 4059 or 4057 Beaulac Avenue. I don't remember
the exact address.
911: What's the nearest cross street?
Caller: It's Park Street.
911: Is anyone hurt?
Caller: I don't know. I can't see much because of the smoke.
911: Do you know what caused the fire?
Caller: I heard an explosion about ten minutes ago. Then
somebody cried for help from the fifth floor and in ten minutes the
top floors were covered in flames. Please come quickly.

911: Don't worry, sir. Assistance is on the way.

Marie: I'd like two tickets for Jewels in the Jungle, please.
Cashier : Sure the next showtimes are at 7:30 and 10:00 p.m.
Marie : I'll take tickets for 7:30.
Cashier: Oh! I'm sorry! Tickets are sold out for 7:30. What about
10:00?

Marie: Give me a minute Miss. Nancy, tickets are sold out for 7:30.
Do you want to see the movie at 10:00 p.m.?
Nancy: Well, 10:00 is a bit late. We need to catch the bus before
midnight.
Marie: You're right! Let's go to a restaurant instead.
Nancy: That sounds great. I'm dying for a burger!
Marie: Oh come on, Nancy! You need healthy food.
Nancy: I know! That's why I'll go for the tofu burger.

Interviewer: Hello, I'm with Annie Lessard, our entertainment
reporter. Annie has just arrived from viewing the premiere of the
new film Jewels in the Jungle. Annie, did you like the movie?
Annie: Yes, I liked the movie. It was very well done.
Interviewer: What kind of story is it?
Annie: It is a comedy. It was very funny.
Interviewer: What did you like about it?
Annie: The story was very interesting, and the acting was good.
There were some good special effects. And the main actor is very
cute.
Interviewer: Can you tell us about the story?
Annie: The story is about an American couple. The wife is very
jealous of her wealthy neighbours. She makes her husband go
looking for the biggest jewel in the world.
Interviewer: Why is it called Jewels in the Jungle?
Annie: It's because the husband goes into the Brazilian jungle to
find the largest diamond in the world, to impress his wife.
Interviewer: What happens then?
Annie: He finds a huge diamond, but a thief steals it from him.
Interviewer: Where does the story take place?
Annie: The couple lives in Texas, but they go to Brazil to find the
diamond. Part of the story also takes place in New York City.
That's where the diamond thief tries to sell it.
Interviewer: Would you recommend the movie?
Annie: Yes, absolutely. It's definitely worth going to see.
Interviewer: Great! Well, thank you very much, Annie. I hope you
don't need to find a huge diamond to impress your neighbours.
Annie: No, that's all right!
