MEDELLÍN
2016THE BEST PARTICIPATION OF COLOMBIA IN THE OLYMPIC GAMES.

The 2016 Rio Olympics, have been the perfect stage for Colombia gets its that
greatest glory in all times.

For the first time in history, the Colombian delegation gets three gold medals in a
single edition of the Games.

The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will be in the memory of millions of

Colombians. The eight medals reached (three gold, two silver and three bronze
medals) its equals the amount obtained in London 2012, but the three gold mark
an unprecedented event in the Olympic sport.

It is the only time these three athletes Colombia; Oscar Figueroa (weightlifting),
Caterine Ibarguen (athletics) and Mariana Pajon (BMX), They help make win this
important result.
For the fifth consecutive year, Colombia gets on the podium at least once. The five
gold medals Colombia: Maria Isabel Urrutia (Sydney, 2000), Mariana Pajon
(London, 2012), Oscar Figueroa (Rio, 2016), Caterine Ibarguen (Rio, 2016) and
Mariana Pajon (Rio, 2016).

There are many reasons for all Colombia this very happy, because although it
seems absurd, all these days of skills and achievements we have forgotten the
nightmare that we live daily with the internal war.

It is also good to remember the 27 medals that Colombia has won in the Games
sports: weightlifting (6), cycling (6), boxing (5), athletics (3), test firing (2), wrestling
(2) judo (2) and taekwondo (1).

I personally wish that Colombia can win more victories in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
and thus bring us more joy.
