Sa Mga Aral ng Katipunan

When studying historical sources you need to be aware of documents sources and their
authors point of view. Point of view refers to perspective of the author toward a particular
person or issue that has been shaped over a period of time due to his/her experiences,
motives, beliefs, ,origin, age, gender, social status, and ideology.
You might mistakenly feel that primary sources are historical facts; that there are no
biases; and are absolutely accurate. In order to effectively analyze point of view, you must
treat the documents as personal interpretations and not facts.

In analyzing authors argument and point of view, you should ask yourselves the following
questions;
1.Who is the speaker/Sources?
(Age, gender, profession,/work, social status etc.)
2.What is the occasion?
(Circumstances, current situation, place, time, etc.)
3.Who is the intended audience?
(written privately or written to be read/ heard by others)
4.What is the purpose?
(Motives, beliefs, ideology, etc.)
5. What is the subject?
(Topic, content, ideas)
6. What is the tone?
(Emotions, etc)

Ang kabuhayang hindi ginugol sa isang malaki at banal na kadahilanan ay kahoy na


walang lilim, kundi man damong makamandag.

Ang gawang magaling na nag bubuhat sa pagpipita sa sarili, at hindi sa talagang nasang
gumaw ang kagalingan.
Ang tunay na kabanalan ay sa pagkakawanggawa, ang pag-ibig sa kapwa, at ang
isukatang bawat kilos, gawa’ t pangungusap sa talagang katuiran.

Maitim man at maput iang kulay ng balat, lahat ng tao’y mag kapantay; mangyayaring
ang isa’y higtan sadunong, sa yaman, sa ganda, ngunit di maihigtan sa pagkatao.

Ang may mataas na kalooban, inuunaang puri kaysa pagpipita sa sarili; ang may hamak
na kalooban, inuuna ang pagpipita sa sarili kaysa puri.

Sa taong may hiya, salita’y panunumpa.

Huwag mong sayangin ang panahon: ang yamang mawala’y mangyayaring magbalik;
nguni’t panahong nagdaanna’y di na ,muli pang magdadaan.

Ipagtanggol mo ang inaapi, at kabakahin ang umaapi.

Ang taong matalino’y ang may pag-iingat sa bawat sasabihin at matutong ipaglihim ang
dapat ipaglihim.

Sa daang matinik ng kabuhayan, lalaki ay siyang patnugot ng asawa’t mgaanak; kung ang
umaakay ay tungo sa sama, ang patutunguhan ng inaakay ay kasamaan din.

Ang babae ay huwag mong tignang isang bagay na libangan lamang, kundi isang
katuwang at karamay samga kahirapan nitong kabuhayan; gamitan mo nang buong
pagpipitagan ang kanyang kahinaan, at alalahanin ang inang pinag bubuhata’t nagiwi saiyong
kasanggulan.
Ang di mo ibig nagawin sa asawa mo, anak at kapatid ay huwag mong gagawin sa asawa,
anak, at kapatid ng iba.

Ang kahalagahan ng tao’y wala sa pagkahari, wala sa tangos ng ilong at puting mukha,
wala sa pagkaparing kahalili sadioys, wala sa mataas na kalagayan sabalat ng lupa: wagas at
tunay na mahalina satao, kahit gubat at walang nababatid kundi sariling wika,yaong may
magandang asal, may isang pangungusap, may dangal at puri, yaong di nagpaaapi’t di nakikiapi;
yaong marunong magdamdam at marunong lumingap sabayang tinubuan.

Mga aral ng Katipunan also called as Kartilya ng katipunan in english The Katipunan of
Conduct.

Kartilla- a word adopted from the spanish‘Cartilla’ which at the meant a primer for
grade school students. The kartilla consisted of fourteen teachings which members of the society
were expected to follow.

The Kartilya ng Katipunan- served as a guide of teachings for the members of the KKK
established by Andres Bonifacio.

Emilio Jacinto is the one who wrote Kartilya ng Katipunan which became not only a primer for
members, but an ideology, embodying moral and nationalistic principles.

Emilio Jacinto Y Dizon was born on December 15, 1875 at Tondo Manila Captaincy General of
the Philippines He graduated at Colegio De San Juan De Letran University of Santo Tomas.

The Kartilya detail not only the vision of the Katipunan, but the vision of egalitarian and morally
sound Filipino Nation.

The Kartilya was the moral and intillectual foundation used to guide the actions of Katipuneros.

Mga aral ng Katipunan can change the way people thought and acted was paramount to the early
katipuneros; they understand that was the only way to truly change Philippines for the better.
