1. GETTING STARTED

Learning Objectives
➢ Background on mobile application
➢ Installation of mobile.
➢ login into mobile application.

The aim of this chapter is to get started with mobile version of Nepal Police Mobile Application and
focuses on role and uses of mobile users for the Nepal police user.

1.1. About the Mobile App

Nepal Police provides mobile application for all android users, which provides platform for incident
reporting and responding from general public users. This application facilitates to collect and
address public issues by Nepal Police to provide social security, safety and maintain the state of
peace, law and order.

1.2. Installation of Mobile App

Go to Google Play Store, search “Nepal Police”, make sure the publisher is Nepal Police and then
install it.

Note: When user have successfully installed app, in android devices, launch the app by simply clicking in
the application. When the application is launched, you are asked to turn on a device’s location, to allow
app to make and manage phone calls and to allow app access to photos, media and files on your device
in a pop-up box as shown in figure. Once, user accepts the message in popup box user is directed to Nepal
Police page.

1.3. Login into Mobile App

Steps to Login Account

• To log in registered account, click or icon, in page.

• When icon is clicked, user is directed to log in account as shown in figure.

• Enter user email in section and password in section, that user have registered
in the application.

• Click icon to check the password that user have written and click again to hide the password then
click .
• Application checks for user and password in its database, when it does not match with database, error
message is shown as in figure.

• When user and password is matched to application database, user is able to login to their account and is
directed to page.

2. REPORTING INCIDENT

This chapter is used to report listed incident to Nepal Police. The incident is reported anonymously if the user is not
logged in. Choose the Incident icon.

2.1. Setting the Environment

Note: Following setting has to be set before reporting the incident for proper geolocation

• From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings > Location.


• If unavailable, navigate: Settings > Security & Location.
• If available, tap Location.
• Ensure the Location switch is set to on.
• Tap 'Mode' or 'Locating method' then select one of the following:
Options vary depending on device.
a. High accuracy (Battery usage: high): Uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks to
estimate location.
b. Power saving / Battery saving (Battery usage: low): Uses Wi-Fi and mobile
networks to estimate location.
c. GPS only / Device only / Device sensors (Battery usage: moderate): Uses GPS to
estimate location.
• If presented with a Location consent prompt, tap Agree.

2.2. Select the incident category

• Click in Nepal Police page to report the incident.

• Once you have clicked the you are directed to incidents page which consists of various
incidents such as kidnapping, rape, accident, other, murder etc. as shown below. Now select one of the
incident categories as desired.

• For example. Click incident, in incidents page, once selected page is directed to
page.

2.3. Type text information about the incident

• In page, click on , then you can type text information about the incident,
in the description box as shown in figure.

2.4. Record voice

• In page, click , then you will be given option in dialogue box to record the voice or
to choose available voice in storage as shown below.

2.5. Record Audio

• Click , then you will be shown various dialogue box needed to record the audio. Once you
have accepted these messages, you will directed to audio recorder as shown below.

• Click , to record the audio. Once you have recorded the audio, click to finish the recording
process.

• Once is clicked, you will be directed to page.

2.6. Choose from Gallery

• Click ,then you will be shown a dialogue box with various option, to choose saved
audio as shown in figure below.

• After choosing , you will be directed to file manager where various audio file is saved.
• Choose the saved audio file and click .

• Once, is clicked, you will be directed to page.

Viewing the store


• Click , to view audio file that you have selected from gallery or file that you have
recorded.

• Once is clicked, user is directed to file that displays list of audio files as
shown below.

• Click ,once is clicked confirmation message will be displayed whether to delete the file or
not, as shown below.
• To delete the audio file, click in the confirmation message else click to cancel the deletion
process.

2.7. Take Picture

In page, click , then you will be given option in dialogue box to choose image from
gallery or to choose camera as shown below.

Choose Camera

• Click , user will be directed to camera app as shown in figure below.


• Click to take picture from the camera.
• Once is clicked, user will be directed to page.

2.8. Choose Gallery

• Click , user will be given option to choose saved photo as shown below in figure.

• After choosing , you will be directed to file manager where various image file is saved.
• Choose the saved image file and click .
• Once, is clicked, you will be directed to page.

View

• Click , to view image file that you have selected from gallery or file that you have
recorded.

• Once is clicked, user is directed to a page which display full image as shown below.
Now slide left or right to view images.
• Click ,once is clicked confirmation message will be displayed whether to delete the file or not,

• To delete the image file, click in the confirmation message else click to cancel the deletion
process.

2.9. Record Video

• In page, click , then you will be given option in dialogue box to choose record video
or to choose video from storage as shown below.

Record Video

• Click , user will be directed to video app as shown in figure below.


• Click to record video from the camera and again click to stop recording the video.
• After user has finished recording the video, click to proceed with the recording or click to
cancel the recording.
• Once, is clicked, user will be directed to page.

Choose Storage

• Click , user will be given option to choose saved video as shown below in figure.
• After choosing , you will be directed to file manager where various video file is saved as shown
below in figure.
• Choose the saved video file and click .
• Once, is clicked, you will be directed to page.

View

• Click , to view video file that you have selected from gallery or file that you have
recorded.
• Once is clicked, user is directed to file that displays list of video files as shown
below.
• Click ,once is clicked confirmation message will be displayed whether to delete the file or not, as
shown below.
• To delete the image file, click in the confirmation message else click to cancel the deletion
process.

2.10. Locate incident

Click Map and Set Location

• Click any point in the map, to select the incident location.

• Once location of incident is selected, a pop-up message is displayed.

Search and Set Location

• Click in page which will inflate the edit box, now type the location in the edit box
as desired by the user
• Click in the keyboard to search the location. A list of location searched by the user is displayed in
the combo box as shown in figure.
• Select the location displayed in the combo box, to set the incident location

• Once location of incident is selected, a pop-up message is displayed.

Zoom in or Zoom Out Incident Location

• Click to zoom the incident location in the map.


• Click to zoom out the incident location in the map.

Toggle Map

• Toggle button to show or hide the map in page.

2.11. Submit

• Click in the page, to submit the incident


• After is clicked, confirmation dialogue box is displayed as to ask user to proceed with the
incident report.

• Click , to accept the confirmation, else click to cancel the confirmation.


• Once is clicked, system checks whether is provided or not. If not provided, user
is asked to provide incident description in an alert message as shown in the figure below.

• Finally, incident is submitted and successfully reported alert message is displayed to user.

3. OTHER FEATURES

3.1. My Incident

This section consists list of incidents that have been reported successfully.

To View Reported Incidents

• In page, click icon, once clicked user is directed page.


• In page, user is able to see list of incidents that user reported as shown in figure.

• Click button, user is redirected to chat box of your incidents as shown in figure.

3.2. Emergency

This section consists of list of organization that is needed to contact in emergency situation as user may face any
sort of emergency situation at any time and place in daily life.

• Select Emergency category

• Click in page, to view list of organizations that needed to be contacted in


emergency situations.

• Once is clicked, user is directed to page where user can view list of organization
in categories depending upon emergency situation, such as police, ambulance, hospital, fire brigade,
blood bank etc. as shown in figure. Now, choose the emergency category as desired by the user.

• For example, click for emergency category, once clicked user is directed to page.

Contact Association

• In page, list of information of police depending on situation is displayed as shown in figure.


• For now, in click button present in the right side of the page.
• A dialogue box to call through either phone or Viber is displayed when is clicked.

• When user clicks icon, user is directed to call system. In call system, number to call police
control is already dialed as shown in figure.
• Now, click button to call police control.

3.3. FM

Search for FM List

• In page, click FM, after FM is clicked user is directed to .


• In page, application searches FM lists and displays them as shown in figure.

• To listen to the FM station, click one of the displayed FM station. For example, click
station.

3.4. Police Station Nearby

This section displays list of police station near the location selected by the user.

• In page, click section in page, to view police station nearby.

• Once is clicked, user is directed to which displays all station near your area.

• In page, gives your current position. Double click icon until satisfied, to know
the current position you are in, through zooming in the map.
• User can also zoom in the map by clicking icon and zoom out the map by clicking icon in the map.

• The police station is represented by icon, so simply look for icon near the location.

• Click on the icon, to know the station information and to call the station which is displayed in the alert
message box as shown in figure.
• To remove alert message box simply click dismiss button .

• Call the station by clicking the button present in the right side of the alert message box.
• A dialogue box to call through either phone or Viber is displayed when is clicked.

By Phone

• When user clicks icon, user is directed to call system. In call system, number to call station is
already dialed as shown in figure.
• Now, click button to call police control.

By Viber

• When user clicks icon, user is directed to Viber call system. In call system, number to call station
is already dialed as shown in figure.

• Now, click button to call station.

Note: Location should be turned on.

4. HOME AND SETTINGS

4.1. Home Section

This section is used to direct user to page.

• In page or setting page, click icon to redirect page to page.

This section is used to provide setting of the application. From this section user are able to log in as well.

This section, consist a button to sign in, display’s the version of this app, and a social media sites to stay
connected.

Sign in Section

• In setting section, click icon, to login using registered email and password.
Note: Details regarding login is given above.

App Version Section

• This section displays the Application Version.

Social Media Section

• This section displaces list of social media sites like Facebook, twitter and YouTube that can be used to
stay connected.

• In setting section, click icon.
• Once icon is clicked, user is directed to facebook site as shown in figure below.
• In facebook website, user can click link, to signup facebook user account or user can click
link, to login into their account in facebook account join Nepal Police page.

• In setting section, click icon.
• Once icon is clicked, user is directed to twitter site as shown in figure below.
• Here user can login to twitter account and join the Nepal Police page.

• In setting section, click icon.
• Once icon is clicked, user is directed to YouTube site as shown in figure below.
• Here user can login to their youtube account and suscribe the prahari anuroth by clicking the
icon.

Setting Section when User IS Logged IN

This section, is similar to above section but when user is logged in consists of additional information such as option
to panic mode feature and logout option.

Panic Mode

• To enable panic mode, click in panic mode section. Once panic mode is enabled, user is asked to
shake the phone to send distress signal.
• To disable panic mode, click in panic mode section.

Log Out

• In setting page, click to log out of the account.


• Once is clicked, a confirmation message is displayed.
• Click , once clicked user is directed to log in page as shown in figure or click to cancel the log out
process.

5. NEPAL POLICE LOGIN

In this new Mobile App, Nepal Police Personnel do not require to register in the system. They can
login with credential which they used to login in the PMIS eServices (pmis.nepol.cd).

Note: Those police personnel which have used computer code as both username and password
can’t login into the system.

After Login into mobile App Police personnel can use Police Services option mentioned below.

5.1. Police Services

5.1.2. Geo-Attendance

यदी तपाईको
ं मोबाइल डाटा वा wifi द्वारा इन्टरर्ेटमा connected छ भर्े, कुर्ै पनर् आयोजर्ा हुर् लागेको
कायणक्रमको जार्कारी notification मार्ण त, तल देखाइए झै ैँ आफ्र्ो मोबाइलमा पाउर् सक्र्ु हुन्छ ।
यस प्रकार तपाईले notification पाएपनछ
यसमा click गरी Nepal Police App मा प्रवेश
गर्ण सक्र्ु हुन्छ ।

तपाईलें मानथ देखाइएझै ैँ notification मा click गरे पनछ तलको screen देख्र् सक्र्ु हुन्छ ।
Geo-Attendance को लानग तपाई ं रहेको location को नववरर् चानहर्े भएकाले मोबाइलको Settings
मा Location ON हुर् अनर्वायण छ ।

यस icon मा click गदाण

तपाईलें "Geo-Attendance" option मा click गरे पनछ तलको screen देख्र् सक्र्ु हुन्छ । यस screen
मा हरे क कायणक्रमहरूको Events list हर्ण सक्र्ु हुन्छ ।

यस arrow मा click गदाण कायणक्रमको


बारे मा थप जार्कारी जस्तै कायणक्रम हुर्े
स्थार्, सरुु हुर्े समय आनद प्राप्त गर्ण सनकन्छ

यहाैँ click गरी तपाईले उक्त कायणक्रममा

तपाईलें Events list मा भएको कुर्ै पनर् कायणक्रममा click गर्णु भएमा नर्म्र् "Attendance" को screen
देख्र् सक्र्ु हुन्छ । "Attend" सैँगै रहेको नववरर् तपाईको
ं location सम्बन्धी प्राप्त जार्कारी हो ।

button मा click गदाण तपाई ं उक्त कायणक्रममा सहभागी हुर्ु
भएको हो वा होइर् भन्र्े जार्कारी प्राप्त हुन्छ ।

यदी तपाईलें निक समयमा कायणक्रम स्थलमा उपनस्थत भई हानजरी जर्ाउर्ु भएको छ भर्े नर्न्र्ार्सु ार
"Attendance Successful" भन्र्े जार्कारी प्राप्त गर्णु हुर्ेछ ।

"Attendance Successful" भन्र्े जार्कारी प्राप्त गरे पनछ


"OK" मा click गरी आफ्र्ो हानजरीको काम सम्पन्र् गर्ण
सक्र्ु हुन्छ ।

यो तपाईले कायणक्रम स्थल बानहर बसेर हानजरी जर्ाउर् खोज्र्ु


भएमा, सही location मा पग्ु र्ु भएको छै र् भन्र्े जार्कारी हो ।
यो जार्कारी पाउर्ु भएमा, तपाईले सही स्थार्मा गएर पर्ु ः
हानजरीको प्रयास गर्णु पर्े हुन्छ ।

सके पश्चात यो Window दे खिनेछ ।
जहा कुनै कर्ाण्डरले आफूले गस्ती
शुरू गनुम भन्दा पूर्म यहा आफ्नो Call
Sign Entry गरी Start Patrolling र्ा
click गरे ननजलाई सम्बखन्ित प्रहरी
कायामलयले GIS Dashboard र्ा
ननजको location सहहत गस्ती गदामका
बितको ननजको Movement सर्ेत
ननयाल्न सक्ने छ । साथै ननजलाई
कुनै घटनाको खजम्र्ेर्ारी पनन ददन
(Assign) सहकने छ ।
