INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- MORNING
ESTABLISHING SHOT of the room. An alarm goes off and the
camera ZOOMS IN on KIARIA as she sits up in the bed looking
tired as she has just woken up.
INT: BOYS BEDROOM- MORNING
LONG SHOT of the room. Zooming in on ATLAS who is still lying
on his bed, a HIGH ANGLE SHOT showing his tired expression.
INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- MORNING
MID SHOT of KIARIA picking up her phone, turning the alarm off
and scrolling through it with an OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT of
KIARIA messaging some of her friends about what they are
planning to do that day. KIARIA puts the phone down, gets up
from the bed and walks towards the windows in the room.
KIARIA(V.O.)
Every day, it feels like…
KIARIA looks out the windows with a lost expression.
ATLAS(V.O.)
It feels like I’m always missing something
ATLAS sits on the edge of his bed looking down at his hands
with THE CAMERA LOOKING UP AT HIM.
KIARIA AND ATLAS(V.O.)
Something or someone.
THE CAMERA PANS AWAY FROM KIARIA and out the window.

EXT: SHOPPING PRECINCT- AFTERNOON

MID SHOT of KIARIA on her phone standing outside of a shop
with lots of people walking around her. KIARIA is wearing a
simple oversized black hoodie with a blue denim skirt and high
tops her hair being blown around slightly by the wind.
EMILY
Aria hey! I didn’t realise it would be this busy today.
LONG SHOT of EMILY and KIARIA walking up to each other in the
centre of the precinct. EMILY has her long brown hair is a
high ponytail and is wearing a long dark green skirt with a
slightly over sized tan turtleneck with heeled boots making
the girl look taller than she actually is. KIARIA gives EMILY
a sceptical look.

Why exactly did you want me to meet you today Emi? I thought
we were supposed to be going out next week.
EMILY
Oh well you know when I mentioned how my…
EMILYS TALKING becomes MUFFLED as the CAMERA FOCUSSES on
KIARIA a bell rings before EMILY starts waving her hand in
front of KIARIA.
EMILY
Are you listening to me?
KIARIA
Er yeah you were talking about that thing you mentioned or
something, did you hear a bell just now?
EMILY
I knew you weren’t listening to me Aria this is important ya
know! And a bell? Were you more focussed on an imaginary bell
than your best friend going through a crisis? How rude.
KIARIA
What have I told you about making a big deal out of nothing
Emi? Just chill out, I’m probably just tired or something. How
about I buy us coffee and you can tell me all about your
crisis.
Both girls begin to walk to a café before KIARIA abruptly
turns around and stops EMILY turning and looking around
confused.
EMILY
Everything okay?
KIARIA
I er I think so I just thought someone grabbed me, how weird
is that?
EMILY
Well it is pretty busy right now.
Both girls turn and continue to walk towards a café.

EXT: STREET- AFTERNOON

LONG SHOT of ATLAS walking down a street wearing casual
clothes not really paying attention to anything he walks to a
crossing and stops. MID SHOT of him looking around as someone
approaches him from behind putting a hand on his shoulder.

LEO
Hey Atlas, where you off to?
LEO moves so that he is stood at ATLAS’ side.
ATLAS
Dunno just walking around I suppose.
LEO
You wanna come with me to get this new game?
LONG SHOT of ATLAS and LEO walking down the street.
ATLAS
Why do I feel like you’re asking for more than just that?
LEO
C’mon man you never meet up with us anymore, I just wanna know
whats goin’ on with ya
There is a long pause while both boys continue walking.
ATLAS
I don’t know how to explain it to you without sounding crazy
LEO
Don’t tell me you got possessed by some ghost or something
man.
ATLAS
Of course, not you idiot. I just feel like... like something
is missing. And I keep hearing this voice in my head.
LEO
So, it is ghosts?
MID SHOT of ATLAS glaring at LEO who puts his hands up in
defence.
LEO
No ghosts I got it, no need for that look. But if it’s not
ghosts then what do you think it is?
ATLAS
I honestly don’t know, it’s just annoying hearing some girls
voice in my head while I’m trying to do things.
Both boys approach an almost empty shopping precinct. LEO
looks at ATLAS in disbelief.
LEO

Woah woah woah, why didn’t you lead with that? A girl talking
to you in your head? That’s gotta be some crazy telepathic
power, right?
ATLAS
Are you really suggesting that this girl is a witch? Anyway, I
thought you said that this was a new game, shouldn’t there be
loads of people in line or something?
LEO
Maybe we’re just really early?
LEO and ATLAS walk side-by-side down the centre of the
precinct before ATLAS turns around and looks at LEO.
ATLAS
What?
LEO
What?
ATLAS
You just grabbed my shoulder
LEO
No, I didn’t
ATLAS
There’s nobody else here, I know it was you Leo
LEO
It really wasn’t me man, ooo maybe it was the witch girl. What
if we pissed her off because we were talking about her?
ATLAS
You’re an idiot.
Both boys continue walking.
EXT: STREET- EVENING
MID SHOT of KIARIA and Emily as they are walking away from the
shopping precinct
EMILY
Hey Aria? What was up with you earlier? You never space out
like that, are you okay?
KIARIA
I’m fine Emi, I honestly don’t know what happened.
EMILY

That’s not very reassuring.
KIARIA
I just don’t really know how to explain it. I heard a bell
EMILY
A bell?
KIARIA
Yeah and it felt like something was pulling my hand. I’ve also
been hearing some guys voice in my head recently, how weird is
that?
EMILY
Is he cute?
KIARIA
It’s just his voice how am I supposed to know?
EMILY
Well is his voice cute?
KIARIA
Really Emi? You’re not at all concerned with the fact that I’m
hearing some guy in my head?
EMILY
Well maybe it’s a ghost?
KIARIA
Seriously?
EMILY
You got any other ideas?
EMILYS phone rings. She looks at it and frowns.
EMILY
My dads here to pick me up, you want a lift home?
KIARIA
Nah, don’t worry about it.
EMILY
Okay, text me when you get home yeah? Also, maybe you should
do some research into what’s happening to you Aria.
KIARIA

okay?
EXT: STREET- EVENING
LEO and ATLAS are walking around the precinct, their only
light source coming from streetlights.
LEO
So what are you gonna do about your witch friend man?
ATLAS
I was planning on going to the library to do research
LEO
The library?
ATLAS
Yeah my laptop crashed the other day remember?
LEO
Mhm I remember, you gonna go now? I should probably be getting
home anyway.
ATLAS
If it’s still open, then yeah
LEO
Keep me updated on everything okay?
LEO turns around and walks the opposite way to ATLAS who
continues walking forwards. A LONG SHOT of him walking up a
LIBRARY and walking in. MID SHOT of him walking up to a
computer.
INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- EVENING
LONG SHOT of KIARIA sitting on her bed on her laptop. OVER THE
SHOULDER SHOT of KIARIA typing ‘why do I feel connected to
someone I don’t know’ and clicking the search button. The
mouse hovers on the first result before KIARIA clicks on it
MID SHOT of KIARIA reading through the article.
KIARIA
So, soulmates? But what does that even mean?
SHOT OF THE COMPUTER as KIARIA searches ‘soulmates’ and clicks
on the top one. MID SHOT of her reading.
(sighs)KIARIA
But this doesn’t really explain what’s going on with me

MID SHOT of KIARIA running her hands over her face and her
right hand being harshly pulled away from her, her head
snapping in the same direction simultaneously.
KIARIA
What the hell?
MID SHOT of KIARIA lifting her hand up with a red string
wrapped around her pinkey finger. THE CAMERA PANS away showing
a small pile of string leading out her bedroom door.
INT: LIBRARY- EVENING
LONG SHOT of ATLAS facing away from the camera and sitting at
a computer. THE CAMERA ZOOMS INTO AN OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT
showing an article on ‘soulmates’ and resting his chin on his
hands to read it.
ATLAS
So that ghost that leo was going on about… shes actually real
and shes actually… my soulmate
MID SHOT of ATLAS moving his hand towards the mouse when it
gets tugged away.
ATLAS
What the
HIGH ANGLE SHOT of ATLAS lifting his hand with the string
wrapped around his pinky finger. He moves his hand down and
looks at the string on the floor leading out of the library.
ATLAS
That’s just weird, maybe this has to do with that girl.
There’s no way this is a coincidence.
INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- NIGHT
LOW ANGLE SHOT of KIARIA sat on the edge of her bed with her
laptop on her lap. HIGH ANGLE SHOT from behind KIARIA showing
that she is reading an article on the red string of fate.
KIARIA
If that guy really is my soulmate then that means
KIARIA moves the laptop off of her lap, MID SHOT of her
standing up and pacing around her room.
INT: LIBRARY- NIGHT
MID SHOT of ATLAS reading the computer.
ATLAS
This string means that we’re connected.

INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- NIGHT
LONG SHOT of KIARIA picking up the small pile of string and
quickly running out the door.
INT: LIBRARY- NIGHT
LONG SHOT of ATLAS quickly pushing off the table and standing
up the chair to falling over behind him. ATLAS’ hand gets
yanked towards the exit of the library before he runs out of
the building holding onto the string THE CAMERA FOLLOWING HIM
THROUGH THE WINDOW.
EXI: HILL- NIGHT
LONG SHOT of ATLAS standing of top of a hill holding onto the
string which stops at his feet. THE CAMERA ZOOMS INTO A MID
SHOT as he looks around. A bell rings behind him and he turns
around to see KIARIA holding onto the red string like it’s a
lifeline.
ATLAS
Hey
KIARIA
Er hi?
ATLAS
So you’re real?
KIARIA
What’s that supposed to mean?
ATLAS
Nothing! It’s just my friend kinda convinced me that you were
probably a ghost or something.
MID SHOT of ATLAS awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck and
looking away from KIARIA. THE SOUND OF KIARIA’S APPROACHING
FOOTSTEPS fills the silence. MID SHOT of the characters facing
each other.
KIARIA
You know, my friend actually tried to convince me the same
thing.
ATLAS
What a weird coincidence
KIARIYA
Yeah, I’m Kiaria by the way.
ATLAS

Oh right, I’m Atlas. Its nice to meet you and put a face to
the voice in my head.
They both laugh.
KIARIA
I know what you mean. Anyway, how do you feel about all of
this?
ATLAS
What? About how my soulmate is a girl I’ve never met?
KIARIA quickly nods
ATLAS
Honestly, I don’t know. Its weird this is the first time we’re
meeting but I feel like I’ve known you my whole life.
KIARIA
If it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way.
The sun starts to rise behind them fitting perfectly into the
gap between them. LOW ANGLE SHOT of ATLAS and KIARIA facing
away from the camera and towards the sun. WHITE LIGHT FILLS
THE SHOT and KIARIA is left standing on her own. She lifts her
right hand up and the red string is no longer wrapped around
her pinky finger KIARIA holds her hand to her chest.
(WHISPERING)KIARIA
Atlas
INT: GIRLS BEDROOM- MORNING
LONG SHOT OF KIARIAS BEDROOM ZOOMING INTO HER LYING ON THE
BED. KIARIA sits up, looks around the room and lifts up her
right hand to look at it.
KIARIA
I must have dreamt the whole thing then.
KIARIA’S PHONE RINGS. She picks it up and looks at it OVER THE
SHOULDER SHOT of her phone showing a text from EMILY asking if
she wants to come over and quickly replying with ‘sure’ before
getting off of the bed and walking towards a wardrobe.
EXT: STREET- MORNING
LONG SHOT of KIARIA walking down a path with a church and
graveyard next to it. The sound of a bell and KIARIA’S hand
being pulled causes her to stop and look at the gravestone in
front of her. She looks at her right hand which has the red
string wrapped around her pinky connected to the grace in
front of her. LONG SHOT of KIARIA kneeling down in front of
the grave. HIGH ANGLE SHOT focusing on the grave which says

“ATLAS SMITH 2000-2017” Clearly in the centre. MID SHOT OF
KIARIA running her right hand across the top of the
gravestone.
KIARIA
I’ll see you soon okay?
THE CAMERA PANS AWAY now focussing on a leaf falling off of a
tree.
