Creating a Personal Monthly Budget

Now it is time to create a potential personal monthly budget. You will be using some of the
information that you found during the career exploration worksheet, as well as other
research to complete your budget. Your final budget will need to be a Google Sheets you
can use the template that they have or make it your own. Your completed budget must be
easy to read and use. Add any color coordination that may make it easier to use, and that
makes sense to you. You need to include any websites that you use for your research. The
budget should be as realistic as possible to make it as close to what you think you want to
do. When finished, you will email me the final Google Sheet.
The budget must include:
1. The monthly income of the first career that you did research on the other day during
this class.
2. Where you are living (a house, an apartment, and the location, you will have to do
some research to see the cost of living that area.)
3. Housing costs (this will include rent/mortgage, utilities: electric, water, cable, internet,
gas, waste removal, and any additional housing costs you may have.)
4. Transportation (how are you getting around and how much does it cost? This should
include car payment, gas, insurance, and any additional transportation costs you
may have)
5. Food cost (this should include groceries, dining out and other)
6. Entertainment (how much and what other things are you going to spend your money
on?)
7. Loans (this will include credit cards, other loans, and student loans. You looked up
how much school/training is going to cost. How are you going to pay for it? You may
have to look up some school loans that you may need to include in this part.)
8. You must identify the costs as variable or fixed.
9. You need to include the projected cost on all of the above items.
10. There must be a space for the actual cost and the difference, but they do not need to
be filled out.
11. The total cost
12. The difference between the income and the cost.
