 PCN: Parent Country National = Person who is working in a multinational corporation


which is from the same country.
Example: A’, B’, and C’ who are Lebanese nationals working in the Lebanese bank,
Byblos Bank.

 HCN: Host Country National = People who are working in a branch of a foreign
multinational corporation located in their domestic country.
Example: P who is a Cyprus national working in a Lebanese bank operating in Cyprus.

 TCN: Third Country National = People who are from a country, working in a company
from another country that has a branch in a third one.
Example: D who is a French national working in the Lebanese’ company’s German
branch.

 Expatriate: employee who left his/her domestic country to go to another country for a
period of time to work there.
Example: P went from Cyprus, its domestic country, in order to work in Greece.

 Inpatriate: Employee who is working in a multinational corporation in his country but


gets sent to the company’s headquarters.
Example: F is a German national who was moved from Germany to Lebanon to work in
Byblos Bank’s headquarters.

 Transpatriate: Employee with no stable workplace. This person keeps on moving around
from a branch to another in different countries, but the same multinational corporation.
Example: D was moving from France to Germany to Lebanon.
