for my students is to
become more fluent in
using technology
independently. I reflected
on my use of technology
from last school year and
an area I wanted to
improve is problem
solving using technology.
To help my students
understand this concept, I
taught my students a
lesson about directions.
First, we did a directions
activity together as a
whole class where they
guided each other around
the carpet using specific
vocabulary. Next, students
used their iPads
individually to design a
pathway for a turkey
using arrows. My students
completed the activity on
their own and also
explained their thought
process to each other.

Distance learning is a new area that my colleagues

and I were presented with and tasked to find and
create quality education remotely. As we prepared for
its launch, we collaborated, shared ideas, participated
in Zoom sessions, and used digital platforms to create
an educational program. I shared new technology
tools with colleagues and gained access to new
applications to assist in distance learning. To help
continue building our school community and show
support for our students and families, I created a
video project that included staff members sharing
words of encouragement. I also created a staff collage
to share with our families and students that included
a message from all staff members. 3/29/20
