To Whom It May Concern:

Chloe DeWitt: What a multi-faceted individual! Right now, she is laser-focused on her goal in
her objective of providing compassionate, holistic, and quality (my word about her!) care as a
professional nurse ASAP! And she'll do it, too! I have no doubts about her ability to accomplish
her short-term and long-term goals. The other part of her objective at the top of her resume is "I
am excited to challenge myself" - Wow! How often do you see that kind of spunk in an
undergrad? Really exceptional! I'm not surprised at all, since Chloe shared with me that she
was a competitive soccer player (and captain!) on a high school team that traveled nationwide.
Sports analogies are commonly compared to life experiences - why not to being a student
nurse? A marathon, not a sprint! Teamwork and leadership definitely required - and a passion
for the endeavor. Chloe has all of the above.

Chloe DeWitt was my student during her 10 week psychiatric/mental health nursing clinical
rotation last semester. As a clinical instructor/lecturer with fifty years experience in various
psych nursing areas, I have a unique opportunity to become acquainted with my students as
individuals. Since they're learning to use their own personalities as a therapeutic tool, I try to
help them get to know themselves more in depth and as members of a team on our four unit
inpatient facility. During our psych rotation, they also experience working with older adults,
pediatric therapy services, and intensive adult outpatient services. My goal for them is to
practice interpersonal relationship skills that can be generalized and applied to any nursing
endeavor they choose.

Now the usual (but true) description of the strengths and attributes that Chloe will bring to your
organization: 1) a broad and in depth nursing knowledge base; 2) highly developed
technical/technology abilities; 3) excellent verbal/written communication skills and finally; 4) an
appreciation of the value of the continued application of evidenced-based nursing practice.

Chloe DeWitt is nothing if not a really hard worker - and one with finely-tuned time management
skills. Review her resume again and interview her in person as soon as you can. With all these
wonderful qualities in a person eager to join your healthcare organization, you absolutely cannot
go wrong with Chloe.

Sincerely,

Susan Markovich, RN, MSN

Clinical Instructor
