KODAIKANAL
The hill station Kodaikanal was created to serve the needs of the British and
Europeans in India from 1821. The charm of Kodaikanal lies in its wooded slopes and
gigantic trees.Altitude 2133 mts. Season is from April to June and Sep to Oct.
Observatory : It is situated in 32 Kms from the lake. This is the highest point in
kodai. Visitors can observe the stars and planets.
Kurinji Andavar temple It is dedicated to Lord Muruga , is situated 3 Kms from the
lake. This temple is associated with the kurinji flowers that bloom once in 12 years.
Kurinji means the hill region in Tamil literature - Andavar means the God.
Green valley view is 5.5 Km from the lake. This is once known as Suicide point
Pillar Rocks : Three boulders stand here shoulder to shoulder, vertically measuring
122 m providing majestic sight. This is located 7.4 Km from the lake.
Moer Point : Lovely view of the valley. 3 Km from the Piller Rock.
Silent Valley view is just away from Piller Rock. Caution Walk carefully
Berijam Lake view : Panoramic landscape view of Berijam lake. This is 19 Km from the
lake.

Law’s falls 7 km from coonoor on the Kundah Road. This is highest falls in nilgiris.

St.Catherine water falls from Dolphin ‘as Nose of coonoor one can see the water
falls.But it can be reached from Kotagiri 8 km away.
Doddabetta It is the highest peak (2634 metres) in the Nilagiris and 10 km from Ooty.
It is the junctions of western and Eastern ghats.It is surrended by dense forest. Telescope
House is there.
Pykara Lake It is situated 21 km on Ooty – Mysore Road. Dam, water falls and Boat
House attracts tourists.
