Hi,

This week I want to share with you this article from New atlas.
The article talk about 3D-bioprinting, a technique in which small body parts can be 3D-printed out of
biological tissue.
New types of technologies allow to make the process quicker and thus more practical than ever.
The printer uses the cells as ink. The tissues and organs are produced from a mould made of
biodegradable synthetic material, they are composed of a network of thin channels through which water,
oxygen and nutrients can reach the cells retained in the gel. As the cells colonize the biodegradable
"prosthesis", it will dissolve until it disappears completely.
This new technology is not yet used on humans but we are only at the beginning and the possibilities are
very wide.

Have a good day,

Matteo Carboni
