Never Place Batteries in Your Trash or Recycling

Placing batteries – specifically lithium ion batteries – in your
recycling and trash containers causes a dangerous situation. When
batteries break, they spark fires and put people – employees and
the motoring public – unnecessarily at risk. Contact your solid waste
district to learn how to properly dispose of unwanted batteries.

General Guidelines Bulky Items and Construction & Remodeling Debris

• Place materials out for collection the night before your
scheduled service day.
• The service rate is $14.90/month.* You will receive a quarterly
bill from Rumpke. Contact Rumpke for questions about billing.
(*Fuel surcharge will apply. Rate valid through March 31, 2019.)
Cart Contents Only
• Each residence will receive a 95-gallon brown trash cart and a
95-gallon green recycling cart.
• Only the contents of the cart will be collected. Trash and
recycling must be placed inside the appropriate cart, with the
lid closed.
• If you have additional materials, please call Rumpke 24-hours in
advance of collection to schedule extra service.
Additional fees apply.
Cart Placement Guidelines
1. Place items inside the cart
Please contact Rumpke at least 24-hours in advance to schedule
collection of large items (e.g. furniture, appliances, TVs, mattresses,
etc.). Additional fees will apply. Upholstered items must be wrapped
and sealed in plastic. Contact Rumpke about items with Freon.
Debris from small construction or remodeling projects requires special
handling. Please contact Rumpke in advance for preparation guidelines
and details about additional fees. Some projects may require rental of
a roll off container.
Prohibited Items
Rumpke cannot collect car batteries, tires, combustible materials or any
hazardous items. Contact your solid waste district for disposal options.
Annual Spring Cleanup
The City of Tiffin will continue hosting its annual spring cleanup.
