Mahabub Alom sir’ because he was very concerned about my thesis work.
Then I want to thank the employees of the DBBL, IBBL, BANK ASIA AND some
other banks who were really helpful to provide me information cordially.
Then I thank to the respondents of my questionnaire whose valuable comments
help me made a good and pragmatic research.
Then I thank my all friends with whom I always made contact and discussed
various matter to improve my thesis paper.
Bangladesh is trying to utilize this system though they are lagging behind far from other
neighboring countries. DBBL and other private owned banks are advanced then the public banks.
Generally in Bangladesh e-banking is carrying the following function:
Account management
Bill payment and presentment
New account opening
Investment/Brokerage services
Loan application and approval
Business-to-business payments
Here Bangladesh is facing some impediments to implement fully e-banking all over the country
such as:
uneducated people,
lack of skilled human resources
lack technology based teaching
lack of capital
network problem in some region
communication problem
corrupted the higher authority
lack of highly motivated entrepreneur
In spite of these obstacles remains but Bangladesh is heading towards its vision. University or
educated people are very conscious about using these services but illiterate peoples are also
improving day by day. Here a table has been given showing the various software used, vendors,
service provided by the different banks of our countries.
Many consider it as an expensive mechanism and cost enhancing for the banks. Many also
consider it as unsafe and inappropriate for the country like Bangladesh.
Again many think it as safe and sound by full. They are happy for cost reduction and time saving
and coping up with the updated world.
After all e-banking is a challenge for Bangladesh, now it is the matter to see how much we can
be success in this field.
“an umbrella term for the process by which a customer may perform banking
transactions electronically without visiting a brick and mortar institution”
