SAAC to Host Virtual Division Three Week

[Selinsgrove, PA – 4/11/2020] Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is proud to

announce that Division Three (D3) Week will continue virtually! Held this year on April 13th-
17th, the annual NCAA event offers activities each day to celebrate student-athletes for their hard
work and accomplishment in the past year both on and off the field. Although the
coronavirus changed the original plans for D3 Week, SAAC adapted to a virtual celebration
of Susquehanna’s student-athletes and the community within SU Athletics.

Typically, SAAC raises money for Special Olympics during this time. However, in light of the
pandemic, student representatives from each varsity team will also be raising money for the
COVID-19 Response Fund, posting donation boards on their Instagram stories to gather
donations via Venmo.

D3 Week will also showcase the athletic community with individual athletes posting the NCAA
“My Playbook” Instagram story template, and a SU SAAC take over of the Landmark
Conference Instagram page. Finally, SAAC will host the annual SUSKYS award show on May
1st at 7pm via Zoom. Like ESPN’s annual ESPYS event, the SUSKYS is an award
ceremony created to recognize SU individuals and teams for outstanding athletic performance
and achievement.

For more information about this event, please contact Ella Moores, Co-VP of SAAC, at 717-640-
4057 or by email at moorese@susqu.edu, or visit the SAAC Instagram page for more details
(@susqu_saac).

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is made of up student-athletes- representing all 23

varsity teams at SU and is assembled to contribute to our athletic community by voting on
NCAA rules and policies that affect the lives of student-athletes nationally. Within SAAC, team
reps work in three sub-committees – Personal Development, Community Service, and
Fundraising – to create events and opportunities for all students on campus.
