Per corrrespondence with

w the contractoor, the following demolition
d machhines are propossed for use:

Phase 1:

 Kobelco 200SR Excavator

 Allied 785 hyydraulic hammerr

Phase 2:

 Kobelco SK2250 Excavator

 Allied 785 hyydraulic hammerr

Machinne Weights

See atttached product details.

d

 Kobelco 200SR Excavator = 485000 lbs

 Kobelco SK2250 Excavator = 554000 lbs
 Allied 785 hyydraulic hammerr = 58000 lbs

Operatting Weights

 Phase 1 = 485000 + 5800 = 543000 lbs

 Phase 2 = 554000 + 5800 = 612000 lbs

Operattional Impact

Apply 50%
5 impact factoor based on opeeration techniquees of demolition..

Designn weight including impact:

 Phase 1 = 543000 * 1.50 = 814500 lbs

 Phase 2 = 612000 * 1.50 = 918000 lbs

Genesis Struuctures

The Geeneral Notes from the existing bridge plans indiccate the followingg ALLOWABLE stresses for thee materials:

 Structural steeel: 18000 psi

 Reinforcing steel:
s 18000 psi
 Reinforced Concrete:
C 900 psi

Demoliition adequacy evaluations

e are performed
p in thee strength limit sttate, so determinne equivalent strrength data.

Structuural Steel

ASHTO 17th Editiion Table 10.32..1A, the baselinee allowable stresss for structural ssteel is 0.55Fy.
Per AA

Fy = Faa / 0.55 = 180000 / 0.55 = 33000 psi

Reinforrcing Steel

ASHTO 17th Editiion Section 8.155.2.2, the allowabble stress for Grrade 40 reinforcing steel = 200000 psi.
Per AA

Ratio Fy
F for reinforcingg steel based on this criteria.

Fy = (18000 / 20000) * 40000 = 36000 psi

Reinforrced Concrete:

ASHTO 17th Editiion Section 8.155.2.1, the allowabble stress for co mpression in cooncrete = 0.40f’c.
Per AA

f’c = 9000 / 0.40 = 2250 psi
