Can / Cannot (Present Simple)

Muk can swim. Muk cannot fly.


Mei can eat a lot. Mei cannot sleep in the toilet.
My pet can fly.
Crocodiles can swim and bite. They cannot fly.
Cats can run fast. They cannot speak.

Could / Could not (Past Simple)


Teacher could play the piano.
Mei could eat many durians.
I could not eat in the classroom. (when I was in SJB)
I could not wear shoes in the classroom.

(+) He could sing.


(-) He could not sing.
(?) Could he sing?
Yes, he could. No, he could not.

Mei was too fat. She could not eat a lot.


Muk was sleepy but she could not sleep in the classroom.

Because of COVID 19,


- We could not go outside.
- We could not go to school.
- We could not see our friends.
- We could stay at home.
- We could play games all day.

Autotroph = living things ---- can make food. EX tree
Heterotroph = living things ---- can’t make food. Must eat EX. cat

Immobile = can’t move


Mobile = can move

Plants
1. Autotroph

(They can make food, so they don’t need to walk to eat.)
*** Mimosa plant ----- droop/ close the leaves when we touch
Photosynthesis = process --- plants make food
- Need 1. Sunlight

4. Chlorophyll – green pigment -- to capture sunlight
- Get 1. Food (glucose)
