AI/ML 5-Days AICTE sponsored workshop was conducted by All India Council of Technical Education and
organized by National Power Training Institute (HLTC) dated from 16th September 2019 to
20thSeptember 2019 full day in which around 30 participants across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra
Pradesh participated for the same.
Dr.Uttam Kumar, Assistant Professor (IIIT-B) and Infosys Foundation Career Development Chair Professor
Vinayak Pai currently leads Data Engineering as part of Data Science and
Engineering group in Mindtree based in Bangalore. This group comprises of
Data Scientists, Statisticians, Big Data Architects, Functional Consultants,
Data Engineers, Data Architects and Data Analysts. He has worked on
multiple Global Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Advanced
Analytics projects for leaders in the area of Manufacturing, Supply Chain
and Global Money transfer providing solutions in the area of customer
behavioral analytics and supply chain analytics. He has worked on the
complete Analytics Spectrum starting from Descriptive Analytics to
Prescriptive Analytics.
Mr.Sushil Soni Education: B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from PTU, M.Tech in Computer
Science Engineering from MNIT
Inauguration of 5- DAY AICTE Workshop on Artificial Intelligence. The inauguration was chaired by Dr
Anand Mahalingam,Phd Vice President Head of AI My Healthcare AI at InnoCirc Ventures, Dr.V.Vidya
sagar Director/HOI NPTI(PSTI), Sh.K.S.Venu Babu, Director/HOI NPTI(HLTC), Sh.S.Prakash
Asst.Director/Program Director NPTI(HLTC). The 5- days AICTE Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence”
was inaugurated by Dr.Anand Mahalingam PhD., Vice President Head of AI My Healthcare AI at
InnoCirc Ventures, Felicitation by Dr.V.Vidya sagar Director/HOI PSTI NPTI, Sh.K.S.Venu Babu
Director/HOI HLTC NPTI, Sh S.Prakash Asst.Director/Program Director HLTC/NPTI.
ATAL workshop on Artificial Intelligence
The Day-1 workshop started with a wonderful session by Dr Anand Mahalingam, Ph.D Vice President
Head of AI, MyHealthcare at InnoCirc Ventures, about the Perceptrons, Deep Neural Networks, deep
learning optimization and regularization, introduction to tensor flow, back propagation algorithm,
implementing DNN in tensor flow. The participants were given a detailed introduction to AI/ML.
The Day-1 second session was handled by Dr.Uttam Kumar, Asst.Professor Indian Institute of
Information Technology, Bombay delivered Lecture on Linear and Logistic Regression and the session

The Day-2 sessions which was taken by Vinayak Pai, General Manager – Digital Practice, Mindtree and
Reshma, Data Scientist – Digital Practice, Mindtree. The Session was mainly on Technological
singularities. The session was more theoretical with involving participants with ideas and the class was
mainly based on the future of artificial intelligence.

The Day-3 session to Day- 5 sessions was handled by Mr.Sushil Soni, and his team from Livewire,
Bangalore delivered session on various topics with hands on experience in python programming,
Artificial Intelligence. Mr.Khasif Arbaz, Application Engineer handled the lab sessions with Mr.sushil Soni
and cleared all the doubts in python programming. The sessions were based on Perceptrons, Deep
Neural Networks, deep learning optimization and regularization, introduction to tensor flow, back
propagation algorithm, implementing DNN in tensor flow. The sessions were theoretical as well as hands
on which was useful to the participants.

Valedictory Function
The valedictory function was chaired by Sh.Vidyashankar, M.N, Head, Cadd centre, Livewire, Bangalore
Sh.K.S.Venu Babu Director/HOI, NPTI (HLTC) Dr.V.Vidya sagar Director/HOI, NPTI(PSTI). A feedback was
taken at the end of the program. The participants were very happy and expressed that they had hands
on. The workshop was a success as all the participants were successfully able to build small AI
applications and code deliverables at the end of the workshop. The response from the participants
about the workshop is tremendously good and positive and as per the feedbacks they would want to
