Example
2 times the AC peak input, it is possible to get a 200 VDC from a 100 peak AC source
using a doubler, 400VDC from quadrupler.
Study and Research Clipper and Clamping in Electronics
Clippers limit input signal that reaches the output by different reference levels. The whole input
reaches to the clamping circuit. The value of the inputs is clamped to the independent source based on
shifted maximum and minimum value. It is widely used in analog television receivers and FM radios
transmitter. The variable frequency interference can be remove by using clamping method and excessive
peak can be remove by clipping method.
Study and Research the Difference between Clipping and Clamping
The clipper is the one responsible in limiting circuit that limits the output voltage. It is crucial when
we want to modify the amplitude of the voltage. It is also a signal amplitude is required in some application
that components cannot withstand the high magnitude voltage. The clipper delimit the amplitude of the
output voltage. It has less than input voltage. It doesn’t required energy storage component. It changes
shapes the DC level remains the same. It is applicable to transmitters, receivers, amplitude, selector, and
noise limiter. While the clamper circuits are exactly opposite to each other regarding their working principle.
It is use when we need multipliers of the input voltage at the output terminal. It shifts the DC level of the
output voltage, the output voltage, the output voltage multiplies of input voltage.it requires energy storage
component like capacitor is used as energy storage element. The shape remains same as input waveform.
The DC level get shifted and applicable to voltage multiplying circuits, sonar and radar system.
