Multiple ‘complainants advised they heard several gunshots, another said they saw a male lying face down fon the ground ‘Wher Officers arrived on seene, they located Robert Cooley Ill, Black male, born ‘November 17, 1995, hereinafter referred to asthe Vietim, lying face down in the parking lot, ‘deceased fiom several gunshot wounds. Evidence on scene indicated the Victim had been shot with an assault rifle Witness #1, who is fully identified, believed to be credible, and available to testify, said the suspect, crove from Houston, Texas, in @ white 2008 Nissan Altima with driver side rear bumper damage, to the Bardin Greene Apartments. The Nissan Alima was later fully identified ‘with Texas lense plate number KKR2503. The suspect, who Witness #1 identified as Kendell ‘Morris, a Black male, bor December 10, 1997, wanted to assault another individual, who resides with Witness #1, Kendell did not know what this oer individual looked like and only ‘knew he wasa Black male with dreadlocks. Witness #1 indicated Kendell and the individual who resides with her had previously engaged in adversarial conversations over the phone. Witness #2, who is flly identified, believed to be credible, and availabe to testify, observed a white Nissan Altima backed into a parking space in front oftheir apartment building prior to the ofense. Witness #2 identified the Nissan Altima as having driver side rear bumper amg 202001250179 Mortis AW de 1Witness #1 observed Kendell enter the front driver side ofthe white Nissan Altima and ‘observed the Victim walking inthe parking lot of the apariment complex. Witness #1 was an acquaintance ofthe Vietim and knew he resided inthe same apartment complex. Witness #1 ‘denttied the ront passenger ofthe Vehicle as David Jones, a slack male, born AUgUSt 10, 19%, ‘Witness #1 opened the door to enter their residence, when they heard several gunshots. Witness ‘#1 tumed and looked back into the parking lot and observed the Victim lying on the ground and the white Nisan Altima no longer in the parking lot. Witness #1 believed Kendell had shot the Victim becatse he resembled the individual whom he had wanted to assault. Information on the white Nissan Altima and Kendell was disseminated to local police agencies along I-45, the main highway to Houston. At 12:34 hours, your Affiant was notified ‘Kendell and David were in custody in Madisonville, Texas. Affant learned a Texas Department ‘of Publie Safety Trooper had attempted to stop the Nissan Altima when it evaded from him, Once Kendal finally stopped, an AR-1S rifle was located inside the vehicle on the passenger floorboard, ‘Wher interviewed, Kendell admitted to being at Bardin Greene Apartments, however, denied being involved inthe homicide and further chose to make false statements that did not match the iets ofthis case Based on A\fiam’s investigation, the suspect is believed to have intentionally and knowingly caused the deat ofthe Vietim on May 4, 2020, by shooting him with a firearm.
