Geometry
Slab TH=250mm; Post-tension flat slab.
Floor to floor height = 3.0 m
Materials:
Concrete: Slab and beam : 𝑓 = 30 MPa; Column and wall: 𝑓 = 45 MPa
Reinforcement 𝑓 = 400 MPa;
Load
Superimposed dead load = 5.0 kN/m2; Live load = 2.0 kN/m2;
Basic wind speed = 26 m/s

TD2- Structural Modeling 1/2 Reinforced Concrete

1. Modeling in ETABS
 Assign wind load auto generated by ETABS
 Run the linear static analysis
 Design for the dimension of the column using ETABS.
 Checking the drift limit. Limit the drift under combined DL + Wind < H/500.
 Study the following parameter on the drift of the building:
o joint model: length offset of beam, and column and the rigidity of the connection
beam-column,
o beam offset,
o wall meshing.
2. Compare the wind load calculation: Manual vs ETABS
3. Calculate the pile and arrange the pile layout. Assume the pile capacity is limited by the concrete
strength and choose the pile diameter = 1.2m. Concrete for pile, 𝑓 = 40 MPa
