It has been established that learning a second language is beneficial.

So
beneficial, that many schools are starting bilingual education. This is because
multiple studies suggest that bilingual education has cognitive, social, and
health benefits. Studying a second (or third) language is an investment in your
future, no matter your age.

When you work to learn another language, you are essentially exercising your
brain muscles.  Working hard to learn a new language will strengthen your
ability to focus, memorize, and comprehend material.

In addition to learning a new foreign vocabulary, you will develop your native
vocabulary. For instance, if you speak English and are studying French, your
English skills will improve as you work to learn the rules of the French language.
This applies to all languages.

Finally, one of the most important reasons to learn multiple languages is to

develop global relationships. Rather than living in a bubble where everyone lives
in the same place and speaks the same language, those who are multilingual can
form relationships with people across the globe. Language barriers are broken,
and friendships are made. When you learn another language, your worldview
changes for better.

The “usefulness” of a language depends on several factors, including

personal goals and preferences.

When it comes to usefulness, German is one of the useful language

worldwide.

It’s estimated that 130 million people in the world speak German. Plus, it’s
the 13th most common first language in the world.

Not only is German the most widely spoken native language in Europe,

but Germany is also strong economically. It has the fourth largest economy.

This creates business opportunities for those who speak German. Also,

Germany has a strong track record in academic and innovation, so anyone
interested in pursuing a forward-thinking field could benefit from learning
German.
