ABSTRACT

EXTENSIONS – Extension of Power Supply for a C.M.D. of 3836.681 MVA at 400kV and
220 kV level to Pumping stations at Narlapur, Yedula, Vattem in Nagarkurnool district,
Uddandapur in Mahaboob Nagar district and at KP Laxmidevipalli in Rangareddy district under
Palamuru – Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme– Administrative Approval – Accorded.

PROCEEDINGS:

1. Chief Engineer (PRLIS), I&CAD, Hyderabad vide letter dated 23-07-2016 has informed that
Government of Telangana has taken up the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme
formulated with five stage pumping to irrigate an enhanced ayacut of 12.30 Lakh acres in
Mahaboobnagar, Rangareddy and Nalgonda distrct and furnished that the total power required is
about 3665 MW and also informed that the 1 st pump of each pumping station is proposed to be
commissioned in June 2018 . The power requirement details at each pumping station is as follows :

2. 40th Standing Committee of CEA approved for Transmission Scheme for 400kV and 220kV
connectivity to the pumping stations of Palamuru – Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
Further, Standing committee of CEA in 40th meeting has also approved for providing 125
MVAR bus reactors at the 400kV Sub-stations of Palamuru - Ranga Reddy Lift irrigation
scheme.

3. After careful consideration, TSTRANSCO approves the Scheme at a cost of Rs.3170.84

Crores (Rupees Three Thousand One Hundred Seventy Crores and Eighty Four Lakhs
only) for the works of extension of H.T supply to Pumping Stations at Narlapur, Yedula,
Vattem in Nagarkurnool district, Uddandapur in Mahaboob Nagar district and at KP
Laxmidevipalli in Rangareddy district under Palamuru – Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme
for a CMD of 3836.681 MVA at 400kV and 220kV level as detailed below.

a) Scheme cost for works - 2787.17 Crores

b) Development Charges - (+) 383.67 Crores

@ Rs.1000/- per KVA for 3836.681 MVA

5. “In exercise of the powers conferred under section 164 of the Electricity Act,2003 Central
Act No.36 of 2003, the Government of Telangana vide G.O.Ms.No.115, dt.7.10.2003
conferred upon the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited, the Transmission
supply licensee in the state of Telangana and Northern Power Distribution Company of
Telangana Limited, the distribution and retail supply licensee in the area covered by the
revenue districts of Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam and
Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited, the distribution and retail
supply licensee in the area covered by the Revenue districts of Hyderabad, Ranga reddy,

Mahaboob Nagar, Nalgonda and Medak or their authorized representatives to have the
powers for placing of the electric supply lines or electric plant for the transmission of
electricity or for the purpose of telephonic or telegraphic communications necessary for the
proper co-ordination of works that a telegraphic authority possessed under the provision of
the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 (Central Act 13 of 1885).”

6. The sanction accorded in Para No.3 above is subject to instructions issued by the
TSTRANSCO on release of services and tariff as may be in force from time to time.

7. The 400kV works will be executed by the Chief Engineer/Projects-II/Hyderabad and 220kV
works will be executed by Chief Engineer/Rural Zone/Hyderabad.

8. An amount of Rs.3170.84 Crores shall be collected as Service line charges, Developmental

charges, from Chief Engineer (PRLIS), I&CAD, Hyderabad for taking up the works by
TSTRANSCO.

9. The Technical Sanction will be accorded by the Chief Engineer/Projects-II/ Vidyut

Soudha/Hyderabad.

10. The order is issued with the concurrence of Chairman and Managing Director/
TSTRANSCO vide Regd.No.806, dated 28.04.2017.
