The Crayon Box Newsletter 2020

OCTOBER
Happy Harvest! This month we will be learning all about harvesting. We will be
spending the next few weeks learning where our food comes from and how it grows.
Children will learn how to plant and harvest food naturally. We also will be attending a
field trip to further our knowledge about the important work of famers.

• We are collecting toilet paper and
paper towel rolls for art projects.
• With the weather changing be
sure to replace your child’s extra
clothes.
• Please remember our “no toys
from home” policy.

Field Trip
Oct. 3 Kamden October 12, 2020 we will be attending a field trip to
Oct.10 Maya Twin Mill Farms for a tour of the farm and to experience
Oct.12 Daniel
the harvest season firsthand. Twin Mill Farms is located
at 798 Five Mile Line Road Ogdensburg NY 13669. We
will be leaving at 9am and returning at 12pm in time for
lunch. Permission slips will be sent out October 1, please
return to Miss. Andee by October 8. We are in need of 5
parent chaperones for our field trip. If you are
interested, please sign up on our Parent Information
Board in the classroom.

student teacher from SUNY Canton.

Helping Others

This month’s community project involves collecting cans and bottles for our local St.
Lawrence Valley SPCA. There is a box for donations is in our classroom. Thank you
for supporting our October community project!

Dramatic Play Center

This month’s dramatic play center is now a farmer’s market! The children will pretend to
harvest their food and sell it in the market. Using their knowledge of harvesting food the
children will harvest their crops and sell them in the market to their customers.
