Of the
LORD
Will be
SAVED.
Acts 2:21

I had a friend in high school when I was 14. He was a good person who was talented in art and
could draw many cartoons that were funny. He made me laugh. One day, he was killed by a
drunk driver. He had no warning. He probably didn’t have time to say a prayer. He was killed in
an instant.

The first day I was in Kampala, There were robbers in the market who were shot by the police.
Some innocent people were killed in the crossfire. Those people probably didn’t have time to say
a prayer and get things right with God. Some of these people were killed in an instant.

If you were to die today, would you go to heaven and why?

Many people will say I am a good person and I deserve to go to heaven. I’m not a killer or a
terrorist. I haven’t hurt anyone. Some will say I take communion or do religious ceremonial
things. I’m a good person.

Romans 3:23 says “ for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. “(MKJV)

Every person has fallen short of perfection. Each of us has sinned. When we die, we are
sentenced to hell unless we know Jesus as our lord and savior. Hell is a place of torment that you
would not want to go to. It is a place of constant torture where there is no relief.

Fortunately for us, God made a way out for us. He allowed His son, Jesus to die on a cross to
take my sins and your sins away. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrated His love toward us
in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”(MKJV)
John 3:16-18 Says “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might
be saved through Him.

He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God.”(MKJV)

Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% man. There is no way to heaven except through Him. He
died on a cross and was resurrected three days later. He came back from the dead as he said he
would. He fulfilled over 300 prophesies. Jesus came to be sacrificed for our sins

He was beaten, he was mocked, and he was scourged or whipped with a cat of nine tails. As the
whip hit his back, hunks of fresh were ripped out. He had a crown of thorns placed on his head
and hammered down by a rod. The Romans spat on him. They nailed him to die like a criminal.
Death by crucifixion was a terrible death. I imagine the beam rubbed against his back causing
numbing pain. Jesus could have called down the angels of heaven to His side, but he chose to die
so you and I could have eternal life. Jesus chose when to die and gave up his life, but he rose
from the dead…..like he said he would!

The exciting part about it is this: there are over 500 prophesies in the old testament and one out
of every twenty five verses in the new testament point to his return. You see Jesus Christ is
coming again! When he returns, he is not coming back as a sacrifice. He is coming back as a
King of kings and Lord of Lords. Every knee will bow at the name of Jesus. (Including Satan)

If you were to die today would you go to heaven? Are you truly ready to meet Jesus? The good
news is you don’t have to do the physical dying. Jesus already did that. Your salvation is paid in
full. Salvation is easy. Here’s what the Bible says:

ROMANS 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth in the name of lord Jesus and believe
in your heart that God has risen from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one unto
righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

ROMANS 10:13 “for whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved.”

Jesus offers you a free gift. You need to say sorry and mean it.

You need to repent and return from your sins. Invite Him into your heart and live for him. It is as
easy as Y-E-S. You just have to decide to say “yes” to him. “Yes I will make him my savior and
yes I will serve him to the best of my ability”

I don’t try to scare people into the kingdom of God. Death is a reality and an amazing statistic:
one out of one people die. What if God returns today tomorrow or you die tomorrow, in twenty
years or one hundred, would you be ready to stand before him …forgiven your sins? If Jesus was
to return today, would he be your blessed hope? (Titus 2:11:14) or would he be your “holy
terror” (Revelation: 6:12-17)?
The trick is not to know when he is coming or when you will die, but to be ready whenever. If
you want Jesus in your life I want you to say this prayer. It is not the words that save you. It’s
Jesus that saves. You must believe it when you speak it. “Jesus, I am the sinner. I am not
perfect. I am sorry for me my sins. I know that you are the son of God and that you died for me.
I know that you arose from the dead as well. I know you hear me right now. Jesus come into my
heart. Change my life. Forgive my sin. Cleanse me with your blood. Wash over my sin. Change
me. I submit to your rule as lord of my life. I denounce Satan and any hold on me or area of my
life. I want you Jesus. Please send the Holy Spirit to guide me. Fill me up. Guide me each day
and help me to know you.”

This booklet was designed to # I give some instruction for new Christians and # 2 to be an
encouragement to those who are already walking with Christ. Please read a little bit each day.
The devotions will guide you through a month. Hopefully, you will get into the Bible and get to
know Jesus better. If you seek Him, you will find Him. God bless you brother and sister in
Christ.

YOU ARE

FORGIVEN

I said a prayer to accept Jesus… now what?

You have started on a journey or a new chapter of your life. After saying a prayer for salvation,
you may notice something different inside you. In my life, everything changed in an instant, but
everything remained the same.

A. Who should I tell?

You need to tell a pastor or a friend who is a Christian about your decision to serve Christ. Ask
them to help you grow in the lord and your WALK with Him.

AWALK is a fancy word for relationship. The more you PRAY AND READ the Bible, the
better relationship you will have. Think for your friends in school. If you never spoke with them,
would you know your friends know everything about you, but He desires each person to seek
after HIM. we can build a relationship with him by reading the Bible and taking time to pray
each day.

B. Where can I learn about God?

Go to a good Bible believing church or worship place. Why? The Bible says not to forsake the
assembly of the believers (Hebrews 10:25)… which in short means “GO TO CHURCH”. It is
good to have a pastor who you can talk to about things that are going on in your life and others
who can pray for you during difficult times. You may be the one who gets to pray for someone
who has a need.

The Bible speaks how each person forms what is “the body of Christ.” We all can’t be the mouth
or a pastor, but ALL of us are capable of serving in some capacity such as an usher, using in
choir, and many other ministries. As you pray, read you Bible, and begin to desire to be use by
Christ, Jesus will open the door for you to do some form of ministry. When you are where God
wants you, you will know because you will have a certain peace about your life that only comes
from heaven.

The church you attend needs to use the Bible and put other books as equal to the Bible. The
Bible is divinely inspired and written by men. The “Book of Mormon “is a lie. Anyone who tries
to say they are equal to Jesus or that they are the “only ones to hear from God “is a liar Don’t be
fooled! Listen to what the Bible says.

‘”Jesus answered, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except
through me. “(John, NIV)

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which
we must be saved. “(Act: 4:12, NIV)

C. There is only one true God

Witch doctors and those who deals in magic appear to be powerful, but they are only the puppets
of demons, Jesus is the king of kings and the lord of lords. Satan and demons are subject to
Jesus. Jesus rules over them with authority and one day they will bow down to Jesus. STAY
AWAY from magic and so called magic “healers.”A famous American preacher/writer, Derek
prince, wrote that witch craft does three things:

 Manipulates
 Intimidates
 Dominates

God spoke to Israel about all these nations that were attacking them. He gave them the reason.
What does God think about witch craft?

Let’s check Deuteronomy 18:9-12.

9
When you enter the land that GOD, your God, is giving you, don’t take on the
abominable ways of life of the nations there. 10Don’t you dare sacrifice your son or
daughter in the fire. Don’t practice divination, sorcery, fortunetelling, witchery,
11
Casting spells, holding séances, or channeling with the dead. 12People who do these
things are an abomination to GOD. It’s because of just such abominable practices that
GOD, your God, is driving these nations out before you. –Message Bible
Witchcraft works through spells and curses (Numbers 22:10-11:17), divination or fortune telling
(acts 16:16-17), and sorcery, which may include drugs, chants, objects, animals and music.

I ministered to a student in Kiruhura. The demonic control was so strong it

made her squirm like a snake. There is a spiritual war going on for your soul and every
person. In Kazo, I saw one particular person who had at least a dozen demons come out
of her at the name of Jesus. Often the heads of the demonic people would twist into odd
shapes as spiritual beings came out of them. The first time I saw this, I had a healthy fear
of what was going on. A healthy fear is also called a reflexive fear. You touched
something hot before and knew it didn’t feel good. Have a reflexive fear and stay away
from witch doctors and magic. They are the workers of Satan. Christ gives each Christian
power to deal with the enemy…….so don’t sweat (worry about) it and be intimidated.
D. Understand there is a battle!!

The Bible clearly tells of a spiritual war we are fighting in Ephesians 6:11-18(CEV).

Eph 6:11 put on all the armor that God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil’s
tricks.

Eph6:12 we are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities
and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world.

Eph 6:13 So put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you will be
able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will still be standing firm.

Eph 6:14 be ready! Let the truth be like a belt around your waist, and let God’s justice protect
you like armor.

Eph 6:15 your desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.

Eph 6:16 Let your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the
evil one.

Eph 6:17 Let God’s saving power be like a helmet, and for a sword use God’s message that
comes from the spirit.
Eph 6:18 Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the spirit. Stay
alert and keep praying for God’s people.

As a Christian, we must make sure our armor is ready for battle! Spending time praying and
reading our bible is so crucial and important to living a healthy Christian life. The bible is your
sword. you can’t go around hitting people on the head with it (although sometimes you may feel
like it), so you have to store it in your heart and minds when a temptation arises, you can
remember and pull the scriptures out. When someone needs prayer, you can pull it out of your
head and remember what God has already promised to do. The shield of faith protects you from
doubt and the various attacks of the enemy. Having your feet fitted with spiritual shoes will help
you to go into all types of situations with a peace that the world cannot understand. Nails were
on the bottom of Roman soldiers’ shoes. Romans had great traction and couldn’t retreat very
well with them on.

The breastplate says that as a Christian, I choose not to harbor and nurture known sin. You
choose to walk in the footsteps of Christ and live to please him. The belt of truth is for you to
walk in integrity.

Let’s take a moment and put on our armor. Pray and believe it!

“ Jesus, I pray for the full armor of God, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness,
the shield of faith by which I will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one,
the belt of truth and that you would shod my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace,
and for the sword of the spirit which is your word; in your name, Jesus, amen.”

E.Pray.
There have been numerous books written about prayer and having a walk (relationship) with
Christ. You should consider asking a strong Christian or a pastor about how they walk with the
lord. Prayer and Bible reading could be put together, but I chose to separate them to hopefully
help you understand better.

How do you pray? When I was saved, I heard many people tell me to pray, but honestly, I didn’t
know how. They might as well have told me to build an airplane.

This is what I learned prayer is not:

 A time where I had to impress God with flowery speech or large vocabulary.
 A time where I had to sit on my knees, face a certain direction, or fold my hands
properly.
 A performance like a theater actor
 A formula or phrase that has to be followed.
 Work or a chore
 Required to be done only at one time of the day. I had some one tell me I had to get up at
5:00 in the morning to pray. I prayed for about 3 minutes before I went back to sleep.

As a young Christian, I really struggled with prayer. Then I learned something simple…

Just talk to God like you would a friend. I like to pray with my eyes open. In the mornings
(you can pick a time that works best for you), I praise the lord. I will sometimes sing him a song
or half a dozen in worship. I thank him for what he has done in my life, my salvation, my health,
my home, my family..

I ask Him for forgiveness. It’s amazing how God brings things to my attention. Was my attitude
wrong? Did I say something I shouldn’t? Did I think something I shouldn’t? Should I have done
or said something to someone?

I ask Him to meet my needs. Needs are something I need! Examples of needs that I may pray for
are: healing, help with a struggle with sin, finances, wisdom, my family, my job, His protection,
how to deal with an issue or person… (You get the idea).

Then, I sit and meditate on (think about) Him and His word. Jesus speaks to me during this time.
Sometimes I end up praying for other things that I remember. I believe God is speaking to me
during my meditation time. I don’t hear an audible voice but sometimes a Bible verse comes to
mind. Sometimes a thought or a peace comes.

Sometimes I am convicted or have the realization that I need to change something in my life so I
can become more like Christ.

I’ll give a quick example of conviction or something I needed to change. I used to listen to rock
and roll music. One day, I prayed and felt I wasn’t supposed to. I did anyway. I felt bad about it
because I wasn’t obeying what God told me to do. Eventually, I became sick of that feeling and
turned it off. Over time, I quit listening to rock and roll music. Listen to the holy spirit to guide
you God speaks through His word and spiritual authorities. So listen!
Sometimes my prayer time is totally different and that is ok! I have at times cried and other
times just sat in quietness before my savoir. God isn’t like a head master grading you on style or
your appearance. He wants you to pour out your heart to him. There isn’t anything that you
cannot approach Jesus with. He’s not surprised. He’s God, and knows everything anyway. He
just wants to be your friend. He promises to draw near or come close to you..IF YOU DRAW
OR COME CLOSE TO HIM. (James 4:8) Think about it: God, the creator of this Earth, wants to
meet with you.

Think of a battle between two armies. Somehow they must communicate with each other.
Otherwise, you are a sitting duck or are blind with no instruction. Through prayer and reading
the Bible, God reveals things to us. He gives us a plan.

He doesn’t answer yes to everything you pray for. Some things aren’t in His will. Some things
may be harmful to us. He knows what is best for your past, present, and future. You just have to
trust Him in that area and sometimes it is not easy. In His wisdom, He will sometimes allow us
to suffer to build our character or have us grow in an area. He understands there will be difficult
times and has the Holy spirit comfort you when you need it .

Here are a few verses worth looking up:

Matthew 6:6 When you pray, go into a room alone and close the door. Pray to your father in
private. He knows what is done in private, and he will reward you.

James 4:8 Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners.
Purity your hearts, you people who can’t make up your mind.

Daniel 6:1-28 (see how Daniel prayed)

John 15:5-8 (Jesus talks to the disciple)

Luke 11:1-11(The Lord’s Prayer.)

Philippians 4:6-7(This is a good one!)

Hebrews 4:15-16 (How we should approach Jesus in prayer.)

Ephesians 3:14-21 (Prayer for the Ephesians.)

James 5:13-16 (prayer of faith.)
F.Spending times with God
In Uganda, there seems to be a demonic attack on people’s time and how they choose to spend it.
It seems they forget to read God’s Word or the Bible anymore. I have often wondered how many
people in any given church could quote more than five verses. Many Ugandan Christian, sadly,
doesn’t know the difference between the virgin Mary and the king James version. They will tell
you they understand the importance of Bible, yet fail to read it.

Reading your Bible is like spiritual food.

1 peter 2:2 Be like newborn babies who are thirsty for the pure spiritual milk that will help you
grow and be saved.

God inspired the book so that you could grow to be more like Him. He wants you to read it! The
Bible and Scripture are the same. (CEV)

2 Timothy 3:16 Everything in the scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and
helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live.

2 Timothy 3:17 the scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds.

Like prayer, Bible reading takes effort and discipline. It doesn’t come easy all the time. Scripture
Union has some wonderful guides to assist you. There are many ways to read the bible. I will
give you a few ideas, but you will have to develop your own system that works best for you. I
usually pray and read my Bible in one sitting (devotion). His easy for me to understand as well.
ANY BOOK THAT ISN’T THE BIBLE IS NOT GOD’S HOLY WORD! DON’T BE
FOOLED!!! Many false prophets and false religions write their own books and say they are
equal with the Bible. They are lies.

1. Spend a moment in prayer asking God to increase your wisdom and understanding.

I used to pray something like, “lord, soften my heart that it might be open and receptive to your
word today. Give me spiritual eyes to see and receptive to your word today. Give me spiritual
eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear. Deepen my understanding of your word.”God is looking at
your heart and not so much the words there aren’t any magic words. So relax, and just talk to
God.

2. I suggest that you start out our reading in the books of Mathew, mark, Luke, and
john

You don’t have to read the whole book in one sitting …unless you want to. As you start out, try
to imagine yourself in the story. How would you react? How would you feel? How did the
people in the Bible feel and react? Try to figure out answers to the questions “what did I learn
about God? “And “ what does Christ require of me today?”

3. Scripture union offers their website”:

“Most of us are hungry to get to know God better. But with all the distractions of modern life we
often find ourselves living on spiritual snack food instead of a healthy diety of God’s word. How
can we discover the secret of a meaningful daily walk with God? How can we enjoy the benefits
of Bible reading and prayer? Here are seven suggestions that may help you have a better quiet in
a noisy world.

a. Start with the basics.

Find a Bible translation you like. Maybe get a notebook and pen. Choose a place and time when
you can concentrate. For many this is first thing in the morning but you don’t need hours.just 15-
30 minutes is fine. The point is, decide to begin……today.

1. It’s a meeting, not a habit

People refer to the habit of daily Bible reading and prayer. Of course, a quiet time does involve
discipline. But don’t miss the point. Your quiet time is really a meeting with the living Christ.
Don’t focus so much on the mechanics of the process that you miss the person behind it. If you
want to have a more meaningful quite time, view Bible reading and prayer as daily dialog with
god, a daily meeting.

2. Don’t feel guilty

Have you ever heard someone confess, “I’m having trouble keeping a regular quite time. I know
I ought to do better, but….”?

Remember God really loves you. And he wants to meet with you. Don’t focus on guilty for not
“paying your dues “to God. Rather, in whatever time you have focus on expressing your love and
devotion to him. Soon you’ll find yourself feeling guilty and more excited about meeting with
God.

3. Find a plan that fits you.

Many people say, “I love to cook but I hate to decide what’s for dinner. “ The same principle is
true when it comes to daily quiet time. That’s why it’s helpful to use a daily Bible reading plan
or devotional guide. Scripture union has many, and there are many other good Bible reading
guides available from other publishers or your church denomination. The points are, find a plan
and stick to it. Then you won’t have to spend your quiet time in “menu planning” and you can
experience “the joy of cooking.”

4. Be creative, Add Variety

Even good things can become routine. To keep your daily walk with God fresh, vary you
approach occasionally. Read the passage in a new Bible translation. Keep a journal of your
reflections. Try a “through the Bible in one year” schedule. Sample different Bible reading plans
or study one Bible book in depth using a commentary. Experiment on your own, but remember,
it’s not about the method, it’s about the person.

5. Give Distractions to God

It’s a noisy world out there and you can’t always control it. When distractions come, incorporate
them into your quiet time. If young children interrupt, incorporate them into your quiet time. If
young children interrupt, invite them onto your lap and read the Bible together. If the phone
rings, pray for the person after responding. If your mind wanders, give those thoughts to the lord
in prayer. Don’t get angry or frustrated. Just come back into the presence of your Heavenly
father. He’s waiting for you.

6. Learn to listen

Prayer is not just talking to God, it’s also listening. Take time to still yourself in God’s presence.
Give your worries and concerns to him. Wait in salience listening to the still small voice of his
spirit. Think back on the experiences of the last day. How did you see God’s hand at work?
Reflect on what you’ve read in god’s word. What is God saying to you? Invite the Holy Spirit to
be present. When you really love someone, you take time to listen.

How can you have a quiet time in noisy world? Take the first step. Beginning today, set aside a
few minutes each day to be alone with God ask him to give you a hunger for his word and a
freshness in your prayer life. Put into practice some of the ideas from these Bible reading tips
and find a Bible reading plan you like. Soon you’ll discover that those few quite time minutes
may become the most meaningful part of your day.”

I want to add on another idea. I had a pastor who told me that he read Bible and prayed at the
same time. When he got to someone who pleased God, he would pray, “Help me be
like______.”When he got someone who displeased God or sinned he would pray, “Help me not
to have the character of _____, and guard my heart from …” it is a simple way to pray the word
into your life. Some verses you may not be able to do this with, but you could try this with the
book of Joshua. I am unsure who put this list together, but this is another way to pray the word
over your life. Please look up the verses, and ask God to speak to you.

G. My identity in Christ

The essence of the victorious Christian life believes what is already true about you. Believing
God’s truth about your identity will set you free. Read this list a loud to yourself repeatedly until
it becomes part of your heart. I am unsure who collected and compiled all these verse from the
Bible so I can’t give them credit.

I am one of God’s living stones, being built up in Christ as a spiritual house. (1 peter 2:5)

I am an alien and stranger to this world in which I temporarily live.(1 peter 2:11)
I am a child of God and I will resemble Christ when He returns. (1 john 3:1,)

I am the salt of the earth. (Mathew 5:13)

I am part of the true vine, a channel of Christ’s life (john 15:1, 5)

I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. (John 15:16)

I am a joint heir with Christ, sharing his inheritance with him.(Romans 8:17)

I am united to lord and am one spirit with Him. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

I am a member of Christ’s body. (1 Cor. 12:27)

I am reconciled to God since I am a daughter or son of God (Galatians 4:6-7)

I am God’s workmanship-His handwork-born a new in Christ to do His work (Ephesians 2:10)

I am hidden in Christ with God. (Colossians 3:3)

I am the expression of the life of Christ because he is my life.(Col. 3:4)

I am a son or daughter of light and NOT darkness.(1 thess.5:5)

I am a member of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own
possession. (1 peter 2:9-10)

I am an enemy of the devil. (1 peter 5:8)

I am born of God, and the evil one, the devil-CANNOT touch me (1 John 5:18)

I am not the great “I am” (Exodus: 3:14, John 8:24, 28, 58), but by the grace of God, I am what I
Am. (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Because I am in Christ, every one of these characteristics is completely true of me, and there’s
nothing I can do to make them more true. I can however, make them more meaningful and
productive in my life by choosing to believe what God has said about me. iv
H. The holy spirit (by Maxiwel)

In Mathew 28:19, Jesus told his followers to baptize other disciples, “in the name of the father,
the son, and the holy spirit.” We hear the phrase often, but how well do we really understand
those words? The bible tells us God is a three- part being –father, son (Jesus), ands the Holy
Spirit. Most of us understand God as our father who created the heavens, the earth, and
everything in it we also know about Jesus, His life here on earth his death, and his purpose in
heaven. But very few of us understand or have ever heard about the part of God known as the
Holy Spirit. What about you? What do you think about we read or hear the words “holy spirit?”
what is the Holy Spirit and what is his purpose?

The Holy Spirit is a part of God and is a promise from the father.
Jesus came to earth for a short time, was crucified and resurrected and now lives in heaven where
he prays for us. (Hebrews 7:25) since Jesus is no longer on earth, He sent the Holy Spirit to be
with us to help those of us who believe in Jesus. The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit does many
other things for us. He is our teacher, counselor, guide, and comforter. He gives us power to tell
others about Jesus and do other works of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will also convict us when we sin
or do something not pleasing to God.

This is really good news! Once you’ve accepted Jesus as your savior, you will want to
live for him. But sometimes it is very hard to live for Jesus –especially if you are surrounded by
others who do not love him or believe in him. This is where the Holy Spirit can help you! He can
help you understand the Bible, and remind you of what you have learned. He can speak to your
heart and comfort you when you are sad, lonely, or afraid. He can help you live life of purity
instead of a life of sin. The Holy Spirit can give you wisdom and tell you things you wouldn’t
have any other way of knowing. He can guide you when you are making decisions and give you
wise solutions to any problems you may be facing. He will also give you words to and the
confidence to say them when telling others about Jesus and when praying for others.
The Holy Spirit wants to spend time with us and help us, but we have to be careful to not
offend him or make him sad. When we sin, we need to admit it and ask God to forgive us. If we
just ignore our sins, we will make the Holy Spirit sad. We will also sadden him if we do not pay
attention to what he says or we do the opposite of what he directs. If we continually read,
watch, or practice evil ways we will also grieve the Holy Spirit.

Instead we need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. “Do not get drunk on wine
which leads to wickedness, but instead be filled with the Holy Spirit.”(Ephesians 5:18) we need
to talk with him and let him lead and guide us instead of being guided by our own thoughts,
emotions, or habits. what can you do to walk with the Holy spirit?

 Daily submit yourself to him and ask him to guide you

 Spend time reading the Bible-ask Him to help you understand what you are reading
 Spend time praising and worshiping him
 Listen and obey Him when he speaks to you
 Live as pure of alive as you how
 Ask God to forgive you when you sin
 Be obedient- To your parents, teachers, and pastors
Your life will change when you spend time with the Holy Spirit

The Bible says you will have the following characteristics, or “fruit”: Galatians 5:22-23

Love

Joy

Peace

Patience

Kindness

Goodness

Faithfulness

Gentleness

Self control

When you submit to the Holy Spirit, and allow him to use you he will become like a very close
friend. You will enjoy spending time with him and he will move through you and use you to do
many powerful things for God!

1. False Region

I want to take a moment to look at some false region. It is better to know what the Bible says
about you and who God is. There are thousands of false religions, but if you know what the Bible
says, you are less likely to be deceived.
I heard an illustration that banks study real money. They look at the appearance, how it feels, and
texture. They don’t study the counterfeits or fakes. There are too many. Study your Bible and get
familiar with the real thing.

Mormons teach that man can become God, and that God was once a man.

God has always been God. He has always been. In the beginning, God created the heavens and
the earth. God didn’t evolve from some other spirit or from a man! Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 113:8, NIV). Before there was anything created, there
was God.(Genesis 1:1)

Mormons believe that one’s salvation is based on such good works as baptism, good deeds,
missionary work, and following Mormon teachings..

For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast.(Ephesians 2:8-9,MKJV) it’s contrary to the Bible.
Roman 4:5 speaks of Abraham and his salvation.

But to him not working, but believing on him justifying the ungodly, his faith is counted for
righteousness.(MKJV)

It wasn’t what Abraham did. It was who Abraham believed in. You will never be good enough to
get to heaven without Jesus or be able to work your way in. He paid the price on the cross with
His life so you and I can go to heaven.

The Mormons deny the Trinity and the existence of a literal burning Hell, yet they promote
polytheism (many gods), baptism for the dead, and the notion that Jesus and Satan were
originally spirit brothers! Friend, make no mistake about it.. Mormonism is a dangerous cult. In
the eyes of man, the Mormons seem very respectable, but the light of God’s word reveals the
true wolves behind the sheep’s clothing. Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets, which come to
you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. “ (Mat. 7:15) Don’t look at their
nice families, their clean- cut hair, and their friendly “missionaries. ”LOOK AT THEIR
DOCTRINES! (1 Tim.4:1)v

You have to be careful who you listen to. This is why it is so important to learn the Bible and
know what it says. Study the real. You don’t want to be suckered into something that is false.

Muslims fall into the “work your way to heaven” theology as well. Islam rejects Christ dying on
the cross.

All Muslims believe Jesus was born of virgin and that he was a great prophet –yet he was only a
man. They believe he was sent by God to help people obey God. Islam claims Jesus spoke as a
baby, healed the sick, and raised the dead. The Quran refers to Jesus as the breath of God, the
spirit of God, the life of God and the word of God. Muslims do not think Jesus died on the cross.
Forexample Muslims believe that right before jesus was to be killed, God took him up to heaven
and someone else (Probably Judas) replaced him on the cross. They trust that Jesus will return to
the earth against to usher in the final judgment from God and confirm that Islam is the true and
final religion for all mankind.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Jesus fulfilled over 300 Biblical prophecies over a span of
1,000 years. Daniel predicted that Christ would become the savior of the world 483 years in
advance. Jesus is more than a prophet. He is the king of kings and lord of lords.

Salvation is a free gift from Him and only through Him.

The only way Muslims can be guaranteed to go to heaven is through “Jihad.” Although it is often
translated “holy war,” “jihad” literally means “ exerting force for God. “ one could be in “jihad”
by writing a book about Islam, or by sharing his faith to bring others to Islam, or by physically
fighting for the cause of Islam. If a Muslim dies in “jihad,” he is guaranteed to heaven. (Eden)

How sad it must be to think you could do anything to work your way into heaven. Sadly, there
are people who are blowing themselves and innocent people up with bombs, trying to get
heaven.

God is love. He doesn’t want or need some holy war. Heaven is a reward for those who love Him
and are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. Jesus said, “fear not; I am the first and last: “Revelation
1:17. There isn’t someone over Him. He doesn’t ask permission from someone else. He wasn’t a
messenger or a prophet of mercy. He was and is God!

The woman said to him, I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ. When He has
come, He will tell us all things. Jesus said to her, I AM, the one speaking to you.(john 4:25-
26, MKJV)

He is God. (John 10:30) He came as a sacrifice for our sin. He died and was resurrected after
three days. He sits at the right hand of God and is coming again! Below are a few of the
prophecies he fulfilled.

Here is a short listing of some of the hundreds of prophecies concerning Jesus:

Ascension to right hand of God—Psalm 110:1, 68:18; proverbs 30:4

Birthplace—Micah 5:2

Burial –Isaiah 53:9

Darkness—Psalm 22:1-2

Gambling for clothes – Psalm 22:18

Lineage –Genesis 3:15; 9:26:22:18; 26:4; 28:14; 49:10; 2 Samuel 7:12-16

Mocking –Psalm 22:6-8

Nakedness –Psalm 22:10

Piercing of side – Zechariah 12:10

Resurrection –Psalm 16:10; Hosea 6:2; Psalm 30:3,9; Isaiah 53:10

Son of God –Psalm 2:6-7

Unbroken bones –Psalm 34:20

Vinegar – Psalm 69:21

Virgin birth – Isaiah 7:14

Who or what do you turn to ?

Maxiwel Tumusiime.

James was aunt Ronah’s first child. I was so excited on the day he was born. My
excitement turned to worry and fear as he was rushed to another hospital where they could better
treat him. He was born with a severe medical heart condition. The doctor said my aunt had the
“perfect pregnancy,” so this medical condition was quite the surprise. I entered a journey for the
next seven months that I never could have imagined. Was it covid - 19? No.

The first night, I was told that he would not last the night as his heart was so bad. I remember
calling my family standing outside the hospital and crying. It was dark, cold, and rainy outside.
My aunt was kept at the first hospital and grandfather went with me to the other hospital.

One by one, each of my family member prayed with me over the phone. Some of my family lives
2,400 Kilometers away. My pastor dropped everything and came that night to pray. People from
our former and present church came to pray with us. Through having normal fear, I was
reminded how God was still in control of every detail of my life. I learned over a period of time
that I had to trust Christ with my past present, and future.

In your life what would happen if there was an emergency? Who would you turn to in that hour?
I turned to Christ first, and then my family, pastor, and friends because I knew they would pray.

Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”(MKJV)

How did Christ help during those hard months that would follow? I was surrounded by His
presence each day. He walked with me during the next 7 months. He allowed me to curl up in
His arms and draw from His strength.

He gave me a peace and allowed the Holy Spirit to comfort me. He sent people to minister and
encourage me and my aunt at the exact time we needed it. My pastor went the extra mile to
minister to us each day. What a blessing! Even though my cousin brother died, I had victory
through Jesus!
There will be things that happen in your life that surprise you and may try to rattle your faith.
This is one reason that praying and being rooted in the word of God (Bible) is so important to a
Christian. It was very encouraging for me to know people in the church were praying.

Psalms 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest under the shadow
of the Almighty

Psalms 91:2 I will say of Jehovah, my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him I will trust.
(MKJV)

I encourage each of you to dwell or make residence with Christ. Let Christ be welcomed in every
aspect of your life. Rest in Him by reading the Word (Bible) and talking to Him in prayer. He
will be there for you no matter what you are going through. He might not answer your prayer the
way you want, but again, you have to trust Him with your past, present, and future.

Many Ugandans turn to alcohol or drugs. It is a temporary fix. When an emergency or

something “terrible” happens, Christ will be your fortress… a place of security or defense.
Rejoice in that, Christians.

Are you having a bad day?

By Maxiwel

Ever had one of those days that are hard for you to get through? You know, one of those days
where everything seems to go wrong and at the most in opportune time. One of those days where
you say something silly in class, drop something accidentally, or fall down in front of a bunch of
people.

I remember one particular day I lost my grade because of an arm injury. We had notes to read
and my arm was so sore I couldn’t lift and I couldn’t just get good marks because of an injury.

Those days were nothing compared to what David experienced in 1 Samuel. David was hiding
from saull. David had a small militia of men and had to side with the philistines in battle against
Saul. The philistines were Israel’s enemy, but 1 Samuel 29 gives the account of a philistine
prince who told David he was not allowed to go to war against Israel (which was a good thing
for David ) the prince was worried that once he was in the battle, David would start fighting for
Israel. David was in a pinch between the rival nations and lived in a city called Ziklag, which
means “winding, despair.” The Amalakites were a nomadic people who attacked the south.
David’s “bad” day or day of trouble starts with:

(Read 1 Samuel 30)

The Amalakites burning the city of Ziklag, while David and his men are gone.(Vs.1)

The Amalakites taking the women and children to possibly make slaves of them.(Vs.2)

The Amalakites taking their possessions and livestock.(Vs.8)

Things get worse for David because the men decided to kill him.

So you think you had a bad day? I can’t think of a day when my city was burnt by the attacking
army, my wife was kidnapped, and all my live stock was taken by the enemy army. On top of
that, David cried until he couldn’t cry anymore and having his own men wanting to stone him to
death. Can you imagine what David was thinking?

Can you imagine the stress and anxiety that he must have had ?

How did David handle it ?

#1 He wept- verse 4- his emotions made him cry .he never lost sight that God was in control . He
still had faith even though his emotions were working.

#2 He didn’t get bitter – verse 6- the men were ready to stone him. Often in crisis, people will
attack a leader .some translations say the men were “grieved” another word that could be used is
“bitter.” David could have been very bitter towards the men. He was chosen to be king of
Israel and the men under him wanted to kill him. Talk about unfair, as Christians, we need to be
careful not to harbor bitterness when someone does wrong . We need to be careful that our words
and actions are Christ –like. The Bibles says:

2 timothy 2:15 do your best to win God’s approval as a worker win God’s approval as a worker
who teaches only the true message. 2 timothy 2:16 keep away from worthless and useless talk. It
only leads people farther away from God. 2 timothy 2:17 that sort of talk is like a sore that
won’t heal. And hymenaeus and philetus have been talking this way. (Cev)

We need to guard our mouths and what is spoken out of them.

Proverbs 4:23 keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:24 put yourself from a wicked mouth and devious lips pug far from you.
(MKJV)

#3 he encouraged himself in the lord- we need to stop and think about all the things that Christ
has done for us. David remembered killing goliath, a lion, and a bear. David knew that if God
would deliver him before…. He would deliver him again.
Basic truths for your life.

a. Struggles that have happened in your past is preparation for today.

b. What is happening to you now is preparation for the future.
c. You are being prepared to take down spiritual giants if you are seeking after God. In
Judge14:1-4, everything in their lives led to the destruction of these armies.

#4 He got a word from the Lord- David was seeking after God and asked what he
should do.” Wait in prayer is the disciplined refusal to act before God acts, “according to
Eugene Peterson. Had David decided to do his own thing, he might have gotten stoned to
death. He could have been swallowed in his misery and been killed by his own men.

# 5 Got a vision and went –(verse 9) he knew what God told him to do . David could just
envision overtaking the armies and getting his family back. He didn’t hold a meeting. David
went. When God tells you to do something, put your faith into action and do it! In this case,
David went.

#6 David recovered all and then some-(verse 16-21) not only did David take back his things,
he the flocks and herds of Amalakites too.

Saul was killed in battle with the philistines. Why is that important?

The very day that David was in trouble was the day the throne of Israel was being vacated.
What looked like a day of trouble or bad day was the day of David beginning to walk in his
destiny as king of Israel.

Has the devil lied to you and stole from you? Be like David, rise up and encourage yourself in
lord, get a word from His word, and recover all (and then). It takes men and women of courage,
faith, passion, and action to recover what the enemy has stolen.

Do not sit passively in your spiritual life. Pray and ask God to show you strategies in prayer and
worship. Ask God for a deeper hunger for Him. your day of trouble or bad day may be the day
that God provides a supernatural miracle in your life. Ask God that you will hear from Him the
way David did. Ask the lord to show you any bitterness or anger that you hold against someone.
Then ask God to help you forgive them and pray for that person.

Think of Paul, “My (Christ) gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your
weakness “(2 cor 12:8)

2 cor. 4:8-10, “8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and
broken. We are perplexed, but we don’t give up and quit. 9 we are hunted down, but God
never abandons us we get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. 10 Through
suffering, these bodies of ours constantly share in death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus
may also be seen in our bodies.”(NLT)
2 cor. 4:16-18, “16 that is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits
are being renewed every day. 17 for our present troubles are quite small and won’t last
very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! 18 so
we don’t look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we
have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but joys to come will last
forever.” NLT
GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER
BY MARY

There was a time in my early twenties that I was resistant to giving 10% of my income or my
tithe to the local church. I figured since God was God he could provide for himself. I was right to
agree. God doesn’t need my money. He can provide for himself; however I need and want God
to provide for me. Over time, my heart toward giving changed as I saw God do incredible things
with my finances. Anyone who makes income should tithe. Below are a few verses to
consider.Jehover was the name the Israelites gave God.

Leviticus 27:30 and all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the
tree, is Jehovah’s. it is holy to Jehovah. (MKJV)

Proverbs3:9 Honor Jehovah with you substance, and with the first-fruits of all your
increase;
proverbs 3:10 and your barns shall be filled with plenty , and your presses shall burst
with new wine.

The first- fruits were the first crops that came in. if an Israelite gave his first 10% and the rest of
the crops were destroyed by inspect, disease, or weather, the Israelite would have nothing for the
remainder of year. It took total trust in God or Jehovan that He would provide for the Israelite.

Mathew 23:23-Jesus tells the Pharisees what He thinks about their cheating in tithe.

1corinthians 16:2 on the first of the Sabbaths (or Lord’s Day) let each of you put by him, storing
up whatever he is prospered, so that there may be no collections when I come.

Acts 4:32-5:11 tells a cool story where one person gets a new name and two people die because
of their money issues. So you need to pay both spiritual and physical substances to link your
spirit and body to God’s appearance.

Peace(By Nampurira Dorcus)

I remember one evening in my life when I went home for Christmas.
My mum and I were out of town for some time, and I remember coming home to an open door. It
seemed someone had decided to rob the house while we were gone. The first thing I did was to
look for my rifle. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t anyone in the house. It was a scary time
going room to room to see if the intruder was still there.
I checked each closet and looked under the beds. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t anyone
hidden from me who might try to cause us harm. Fortunately, there wasn’t any one in the house.
In the coming days, are house was broken into by mistake by the fire department. If I wasn’t
feeling nervous about one broken door…now there were two broken doors. I hardly slept at
night and guarded the house against a chief entering inside it. I was an emotional mess.
Fear played in my mind. I jumped every time I heard a noisy, thinking my life was in danger.
Instead of having Jesus’ peace, I was falling to pieces.
In the last verse of john, Jesus tells his disciples to have peace. He even told them there were
trials and tribulations ahead of them. He lets them know that he has overcome the world and
Satan. I like that because he is basically telling the disciples that they have hope. The world and
Satan can’t beat him, and he is in charge of everything. He has overcome the world! Of course,
Isaiah told everyone this hundreds of years before Jesus was born.
Isaiah 9:6 for to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be on his
shoulder; and his name shall be called wonderful, counselor, the mighty god, the everlasting
father, the prince of peace. (MKJV)
His very name is “the prince of peace. “ However awesome is that? He doesn’t ask you to
suffer through everything without hope. He wants you to have peace that can only be found in
Him.
1 peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you.
(NLT)
I like the part where He tells us that he cares about what happens to us. He is a God of great
resource. He could meet every need I ever had in an instant. I don’t have to live in an unnatural
fear all my life. I don’t have to fear tomorrow because God is the same yesterday, today, and
forever. He cares about me. He cares about you!!
Remember our house getting robbed and how I didn’t have peace? In the spiritual realm, it is the
same way.

John 10:10 the thief does not come except to steal and kill and to destroy. 1(Jesus) have come so
that they (you and me) might have life, and they might have it more abundantly. (MKJV,
parenthesis mine)
Jesus provided us hope for external life even through it cost Him own. He wants you to live in
victory not defeat. Someone has aptly said, “Life without Christ has a hopeless end; life with
Christ is an endless hope.”
Make a list of things you worry about or cause you anxiety .Go through each one that is one your
list and tell God about them .He is listening to you even though you may not ‘’feel “it .Ask Him
to restore peace in your life and show you his hand moving in your life .I imagine handing Him
my problems and fears.
Peace be with you, my brother and sister.
Aheart beating for him (By Joan)

As you wake up in the morning, who are you excited to see? Mom, Dad, Brother, sister, friend.
Do you know your heavenly Father is excited to see you and hear you’re your voice? His heart is
beating after you, for he loves you with an everlasting love. He loves you so much that he gave
His Son Jesus Christ for you on the cross, so one day you could spend eternity (live forever) with
him in heaven. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Can you hear His heart? He says,
choose this day, who you will serve (live for). Today is the day of salvation. Ask Jesus to forgive
you of things you have done wrong and ask him to come into your life today. Jesus Christ will
give you peace and joy the world can’t give. He said he would never leave you or forsake you.
Jesus will not only be your savior and lord; he will be your friend.
Jesus Christ wants to be a very important part life. John 15:5 says, “I am the vine, you are the
branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear mush fruit, a part from me you can
do nothing. “To live a good life is to stay close to Him, like a branch attached to the vine. This is
how you get to know the lord. Joy comes from a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ.
As you start your day talking and listening to the lord, he will give you direction and help for the
day. No matter how you feel or circumstances you have to face, your attitude will change to be
an over comer, because we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. The apostle Paul said, “ I
can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”(Philippians 4:13) Paul didn’t say he could
do all things in his own strength. He made it clear he was depending on God to help him. (Paul
was thrown in jail because of his faith. Even in this difficult condition he remained positive and
wrote encouraging letters to the churches. Paul learned to think the right thoughts.

There is a children’s story about the little train that was trying to make it up the mountain. The
only way the little train makes any progress was by telling him, “I think I can… I think I can…”
He kept thinking positive. I can do it! Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) says, as [a person] thinks in his
heart, so is he. It’s true a person often becomes whatever he or she continually thinks about.
Life’s battles I believe are won when depending on the lord and having a positive attitude
(Hebrews 4:12) for the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and
attitudes of the heart.” God’s word is so powerful.

Many people don’t understand the power of the words they speak.

Proverbs 18:21 tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. We get ourselves in
trouble sometimes by the words we speak. Begin speaking by faith God’s word, “if God is for
me, who can be against me?” (Romans 8:19) Believe and use God’s word and it will change your
life.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Can you hear His heart?

Remember, God loves you and wants you to share his love with others. Make a difference in
someone’s life. Let your heart beat for Him!
Gifts for the body(By Simon)

Romans 12:4-6”just as our bodies have many parts has a special function, so it is with Christ’s
body. we are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are
all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. God has
given each of us the ability to do certain things well.”

Doesn’t this scripture read so simply, so “ tell it like it is? “ yet we love to complicate it by
wishing we had a different gifting, believing another’s gift is more functional than our own, or

perhaps we believe the lie of the enemy that we have no gift at all. These verses banish those
lies, “ God has given some of us the ability to do certain things well. “ We don’t read, “God has
given some of us the ability to do certain things well, “but rather, “each of us.”

That means we have a certain ability that is vital for the proper functioning of the body of Christ.
Some of us look at those who are mouthpieces of God, for example, pastors and prophets, as
more gifted and more favored by God. What about those of us called to be the hands gifted with
helpfulness? What about those who are the ears that listen and offer counsel to those who are
weary?

When we embrace the abilities the lord has instilled within us as needed for His purpose, we will
overcome the temptations to compare and envy those seem to have a: higher” gifting.
Remember, each gift is a function needed for the body of Christ to accomplish His will and bring
Him glory.

Psalms 103:8-9 “the LORD is merciful and gracious; He is slow to get angry and full of
unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.”
For some of us, this is a difficult passage of scripture to accept. We so often have this view that
God is a frowning accuser, constantly condemning and point His finger at our past sins that He
already forgave. It is interesting to note that the author of this particular palm is David and he
understood the lord’s merciful love enough to write about it. David’s faith was strong in God’s
unfailing love, even after all the sins of his past

Most of the time, we end up becoming our own vindictive accuser, relentlessly embracing our
shame instead of asking for his forgiveness and standing firm in that forgiveness. We are so
shocked at our ability to sin that even though we ask for forgiveness from the father, we still
refuse to “forgive” ourselves above sinning, and there is only one above sinning. So really what
we are claiming when we find ourselves shocked at our sin and unable to embrace God’s
forgiveness is, “I should be God.”
May we be like David and hold close to God’s nature, “the LORD is merciful and gracious… He
is slow to get angry… full of unfailing love… will not constantly accuse us, no remain angry
forever. “if this is the character of the God we adore, who are we to stand as accusers and
condemners of ourselves? He alone is God and He is abundant in His mercy and love. No
accuser can overrule this, no matter how great the sins.
I went on a trip with my Mum to kasese and we were accompanied by a young lady who was
seeking the attention of a young man whom she liked at her college in ibanda. She referred to
him as her “diamond in the rough.” Throughout the entire trip, which included a 23 hour car ride,
I heard about how wonderful this guy was.
From what she told me, it didn’t sound like the perfect match. I told her and told her to let it go.
She pursued it upon returning to ibanda and it didn’t work out near the way she thought. In fact,
it didn’t work out at all. A few years later she met the right guy for her. Now, all we hear about is
him.( and it’s ok’ too)
As a Christian, you need to make sure that those you seek to date, court, or marry are committed
to Christ. The idea that you are going to change someone once you are married is a lie from the
devil. In fact, you will probably get dragged down spiritually yourself.
Consider what the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 6:14:
14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness
have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 what harmony is
there between Christ and belial {a} ? What does a believer have in common with an
unbeliever? 16 what agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are
the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will be their God, and they will be my
people.”(MKJV)
Jesus and Belial are complete opposites Belial is a name for Satan. Christians should seek
to marry Christians. The message paraphrase says 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 this way: “don’t
become partners with those who reject God. “The new American standard tells us, “Do
not be bound together with unbelievers.”

I remember a time when I was on a paddle boat. The paddle boat is small boat. Two people sit in
the boat and pedals are where their feet are. The faster you turn the pedals the faster you go. I
had a friend who was very strong and he paddled quicker and harder than I could. Because he
was stronger, the force of his pedaling made us gradually turn right. We wanted to go straight on
the lake, but we couldn’t because we weren’t equal. As a result, the boat kept going in circles.
The same is true with marrying or dating an unbeliever. You will want to go straight towards
God but there will be another person in the boat pulling you in direction that you do not want to
go. Determine in your heart at an early age to commit to Christ and only seek a mate with
another Christian. Don’t settle for someone who doesn’t love the lord with all their heart and
isn’t committed to God.

A husband is supposed to love his wife. (Ephesians 5:25-33) above everything else, he needs to
have a Christ- like love. No matter what the circumstance, he loves his wife as Christ would love
her. I can honestly say it isn’t always easy. It’s a choice. I will never know how she made that
choice with me, but I am happy she does. I am a truly blessed man.

Proverbs 31:30 says, “favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears jehovan, she
shall be praised.”

I’m not a dating expert or a person who wants to get everyone married. I just say choose your
partner wisely. I knew two Christians who married. The husband had a successful ministry and
the wife didn’t much care for all the time that he spent ministering to others. She complained.
She worked against him. Eventually, his ministry and marriage collapsed.
I believe (and I could be wrong) for most people, God puts many potential people that you could
marry in your path. For a Christian, it’s a matter of making a good, better, or the best choice in a
mate. God has someone for you, but so does the Devil. Choose wisely.

Maybe you haven’t met the right person for you. It’s not a sin and God loves you as much as
married person. Paul said it was ok to be single.( 1 Corinthians 7:9) there are advantages in
ministry to being single and there are advantages to being married in ministry.

Prayer: Jesus, I ask that you bring in the person that I am so supposed to be with in marriage at
your perfect time. If I am remaining single, help me to see your vision and what you have called
me to do. Father, I need you. Order my steps. Let me walk in peace and give me wisdom in my
decision with the opposite sex.
SPEAK LORD, FOR YOU SERVFANTS ARE LISTENING

By Pr.Herbet

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is found in 1 Samuel 3. It is the story of a young boy who
was mentored by Eli the priest. The boy’s name was Samuel and the best part of the story is that,
even though He was a child, God spoke to him! Samuel heard God’s voice! I believe God still
speaks to children today and children can still hear the voice of God!!!
If you are a child, one of the best ways you can train yourself to hear when God speaks to you, is
by being someone who prays. Prayer is the most effective way to train your spiritual ears to hear.
I want to give you some reasons why I believe this to be true.
 God instructed it—1 Thessalonians 5:17—“pray without ceasing …” This means to
maintain an attitude of prayer continually!
 Prayer develops relationship--- True prayer is a 2- way street’ you talk –He listens—He
talks--- you listen—
You get to know what is on God’s heart… then, He puts it on your heart!
 God’s hand is moved when a group of people pray, even children!!!!!!
 Prayer will always go before any move of God. Individually or corporately.
 Every moment, day and night, warfare is taking place—Ephesians 6:12, “we do not
wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places.”
 Prayer will give you sensitivity to the voice of the lord that you will not have unless you
spend time in prayer. It is your responsibility to train your own hearing!
Why do you need to hear the voice of the Lord? Because He is always right! The answer you
will need for every situation in life will come from God. Prayer is a connector to hearing God’s
voice.
AKEY TO DEVELOPING AN EXCITING PRAYER LIFE
To have prayer times that are full of life, learn to pray scriptures as part of your prayer time. Can
you as a child be taught to do this?
The answer is YES!!!
Why pray the scriptures? The scriptures tell you many things that God’s word will do for you as
you read….then do what they say.
Do you believe what the Bible says about itself? Take a look at just a few things that the Bible
says about itself..
 Hebrew 4:12, “the word of God is living and powerful and sharper that any two edged
sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is
a discerner of the thoughts and intends of the heart.”
 2 Timothy 3:15-16, “and that from childhood you have known the Holy scriptures, which
are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
 Psalms 19:7- “the law of the lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the
Lord is sure; making wise the simple.”
Praying the word will get the word in you and you will begin to memorize it without realizing it
God is raising up a generation of children that know about prayer and will do it!

He is also looking for those who will mentor this young generation of prayer warriors. Take
courage young warriors!!!! You are a part of this generation that God is raising up who seek the
lord with all their heart, soul, and body!!!

“Who Am I?”
P.r.Enid Nanshemeza
(All Scripture is NKJV)

Have you ever wondered who you are and if you really matter? Well, the answer, without a
doubt, is absolutely yes. You do matter. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 1:5 that before we were
formed in our mother’s womb, the lord knew us. Of all the people that have ever lived, and of all
the people alive today, God has known and cared for each and every one. So much so, that
Mathew 10:30 says that even the very hairs of our head are numbered. Because He has known
who each of us is, He also loves each and every one of us. Because of this love that he has a plan
for your life.
Do not think of yourself as too young, too shy not strong enough, not smart enough, or not from
right family. Do not allow any negative or critical thoughts to come into your mind. The Bible is
full of examples where God specifically chose the least likely people to do some of the greatest
things for Him.
In 1 Samuel 16, the prophet Samuel was sent by God to the family of a man named Jesse. Jesse
had eight sons and God told Samuel that He would show him which son was to be anointed as
the next king of Israel. Each of Jesse’s sons was presented to Samuel to determine whether he
would be chosen. When none were chosen, Samuel asked if there were any other sons. The
youngest and almost forgotten son, David, was brought in from the fields, where he had been
taking care of the sheep. Immediately, God spoke and said,”this is the one. Anoint him. ” David
grew up to be the best known and most respected king of Israel, and was described as a “man
after God’s own heart.”
The book of genesis tells us of Joseph, the youngest of twelve sons of Jacob. Joseph was hated
by his brothers, who instead of killing him decided to sell him into slavery. He was also later
accused of some things he did not do, and thrown into prison. Despite all of this, God’s hand was
on him, and he eventually became the second most powerful man in all of Egypt and was used
by God to help the people of Israel during times of famine and trouble.

In chapter 6 of the book of judges, God looked upon Gideon, the youngest son from one of the
poorest families of Israel, and called him almighty man of strength and courage. He used Gideon
and a small group of 300 soldiers to defeat an army of several thousand who were enemies of
Israel.
God used each of these young people in ways that neither they, nor the other people who knew
them best, would have ever imagined.
This same God has a destiny, a plan, and purpose for your life as well. You may not be one to
lead thousands of soldiers into battle, face down a giant, or save an entire country, but God just
might have even bigger plans for you. You can be the one to make a difference in the lives of
your family, your school, your city, or your nation.
As God spoke to Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:7 while he was looking to anoint a king, “for the lord
does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the lord looks at the
heart.” Likewise, do not think of yourself as someone God could not use. Instead, think of
yourself as someone that God wants to use now, and even this day He can be preparing you to do
even greater things in His name and by His power.
Prayer:
“lord, I thank you that you have a plan, a purpose, and a destiny for my life. Your word says in
Isaiah 43:1 that you have called me by my name and I am yours. I submit myself to your calling
on my life, that I may be one who would lay hold of all that you have laid hold of me for. May
your spirit direct and guide me in all things, so that my life may be pleasing to you, and that I
would be one who would accomplish all that you have planned for me. In the mighty name of
Jesus, Amen.”
II Chronicles 7
By Brendah Anyiine.
During this passage of scripture, Solomon was dedicating the Temple to the Lord. There are
some very clear observations that we can make from this passage. The first observation that we
notice is that the Lord’s presence filled this Temple. Verse 2 says, “the priests could not even
enter the Temple of LORD because the glorious presence of the LORD filled it. “the second
observation is that the Temple was a place of worship for His love for them. Verse 3 says, “
when all the people of Israel saw the fire coming down and the glorious presence of the LORD
filled the Temple, they fell face down on the ground and worship and praise the LORD, saying, “
He is so good! His faithful love endures forever!” this Temple was also a place of sacrifice to the
LORD. Verse 5 says, “King Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep you
may be wondering what these observations have to do with some truths that we can apply to our
lives even now. Let’s read 1 cor. 6; 19-20. ‘’ or don’t you know that you body is the temple
Of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to you
self, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

After Jesus died and rose again there was no more need for a temple to worship in, offer
sacrifices in, and have a priest intercede to God for you in. because of Jesus death and
resurrection, you can now go directly to without a priest you don’t have to offer animal
sacrifices, and you do not have to worship only in buildings. Although we all come together to
worship god at church, we can all worship him in every other place! When you ask Christ to
come into your life you become his temple!
Could others organize that you are his temple? Just as the presence of the lord filled
Solomon’s temple? Does the lord’s presence fill your temple? Do you radiate with God? Can
others see him on your face?
Is your temple a place of worship to the lord for his love for you? Do you worship him
with your whole heart, soul and mind? Do you offer your whole life to him in full surrender? Do
you give him your best? He loves you more than you love him through worship.
Does sacrifice also assume your temple? II Chronicles 7:7 says, “Solomon the dedicated
the central area of the courtyard in front of the LORD’S Temple so they could present burnt
offerings and the fat from peace offerings there. He did this because the bronze altar he had built
could not handle all the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and sacrificial fact.” Solomon offered
everything! In fact, he didn’t even have enough room in the Temple for the sacrifices to the
Lord.
Is that how your life is? Have you become a living sacrifice for the Lord? Have you offered
everything to him, your life, you family, your job, you pain, your loss. Don’t let anything good
or bad in your life go without being given to the lord.
If one were to enter your temple today would they see the Lord’s presence? Would they see true
worship coming from your life? Would they notice your life as an act of worship to the lord? Our
temple is where the lord abides (lives). Ask Him to abide forever.

God your Healer

By Daniel Tanyebwa

“…For I am the LOAD who heals you.” Exodus 15:22-26

This is a promise that God first gave to a group of people thousands of years ago ago and is also
a promise for us today. Here is what has taken place…
There are somewhere between 1.5-4 million Jewish people who have been suddenly,
miraculously delivered from slavery! For 430 years they lived in Egypt as slaves. They knew that
somedy they would be free and return to Israel because God promised that land to them when it
didn’t seem possible that would ever happen, God raised up a man to lead them to freedom. His
name was muses. These people saw God do amazing things. There were ten plagues that God
used to cause the Egyptians to set them free. Some of those included: turning water into blood;
being inundated with files, locust and frogs; huge hail: and the last one was the “dead of the
firstborn.” All these people left Egypt by going through the middle of the red sea...God parted
the waters and all of them walked across on dry ground!
God moved so powerfully to set them free! Each of them saw him moved with their own eyes!
Now, three days journey from the Red Sea, they are out of water. With millions people and all of
their animals, this is a very serious problem! Finally, they find a huge pool of water large enough
for their great need, but the water is poison. God gives Moses the answer to the problem: take a
tree and throw it into the water. When Moses does this, the water is made pure again! There is
enough pure water for the people, their animals and even to store up so that they can continue
their journey! This is when God gives them a promise. God said that He would not allow
diseases and the LORD who heals you.”
The word God uses come from the word that means “doctor.” God is saying that He is there and
our healer, doctor, and the one who brings us back to health! The Lord is actually saying, “I am
healer… that is my name….” God is calling Himself “Healer.” He is saying, “My name is
Healer”!
Why do I believe that God wants you and I well? One of the many reasons is: God calls Himself
“Healer”! This is more than just something that He wants to do, this is who He is! When you
understand this, it takes away all doubt… God wants you well!
It is interesting; God healed that huge pool of water with just a piece of wood. God used another
piece of wood to provide healing for you and I… the Cross! When Jesus died on the cross for us,
he paid the penalty for our healing! Isaiah 53:4-5 says, “Surely He has borne our griefs and
carried our sorrow; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was
wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace
was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed . “(NKJ) the bible says that with the stripes
that Jesus took on His back, He provided healing for you and me! (Look up these verses as well,
1 peter 2:24 and matt 8:16, 17. They see the same things!)
God says, “My name is Healer” and Jesus provided healing for you and me with all those stripes
on His back on His way to the cross. Then how do we go about being healed when we are sick?
It is a matter of believing, having faith, in what Jesus has already done for us. Here is an
example: the Bible says that Jesus took all of our sins and paid the penalty for them when He
died on the cross. Our sins are forgiven and we are born again when we believe, put our faith in,
what Jesus has already done for us. In similar way, Jesus has provided the remedy for your and
my healing. Those stripes on His back! We are healed when we believe; put our faith in, what
Jesus has already done! Healing has already been providing for you:
God wants you well, spirit, soul and body! Jesus has already provided the remedy for you! If you
are sick in any way, Jesus can heal you right now! Put your hand on the place where the sickness
is and pray this prayer asking Jesus to heal you:
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for loving me so very much. I thank you for all that you did at the
cross for me. I believe that you have already provided the remedy for everything that separated
me from you. You took care of everything! I also believe that you provided healing for me. Right
now, as I lay my hands on this sickness, I tell it to go and for health to come into my body. I
prayed this in your Name Jesus. Thank you for healing me. Amen.

Here are some helps to walk in health:

 Keep praying and believing what the bible says about Jesus providing healing for you.
 Decide to live your life always with Jesus in control
 Forgive those who have wronged you. Jesus told us to forgive and He practiced
forgiveness. Unforgiveness blocks Holy Spirit from flowing in and through us.
Unforgiveness is one of the things that can keep you and I from being healed.
 Do not do or use things that you know can hurt you or make you sick
 Always do what you already know Jesus would have you to do.
 At the first sign of any sickness, pray asking Jesus to heal you.
Dwelling in the “secret place”…….#1
By: Maxiwel
Ps. 91:1-8-” he who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow
of the almighty.”
Psalms 46:10- “be still, and know that I am god; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be
exalted in the earth!”
Psalms 16:11 –“you will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your
right hand pleasures forevermore.”
Yesterday I wrote to you about “the secret place." It is a “secret place” so not everyone
will go there. Some will not want to, not take time to, or desire to live a life that will enable them
to dwell there. But he wants you to come there! It is a place where God makes Himself very real
to you! He will speak to you; fill you with His love and presence... You were made by Him to
come there!!! If you want to be with HIM, you can and there are some wonderful benefits
available for you by being in the “secret place”:
 you hear God’s voice and see His face in the secret place
“oh my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me
hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely” (SOS 2:14). Something happens
in the secret place- in this place of quietness and stillness we hear God’s voice and see His face!
That is amazing!
 The king’s chambers are like a banqueting house. “He brought me to the banqueting
house and his banner over me was love.”(SOS 2:4) it is a banqueting place, a place
celebrating in His presence. It is a place of heaven’s wine, and that is new wine!
 The secret place is a hiding place. “For in the time of trouble he will hide me in His
pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle he will hide me; He shall set me high upon
a rock” (Ps. 27:5). It’s a place where we find protection, where we ask the Lord questions
and are able to see His beauty.

 In the secret place of his tabernacle we’ll be safe. “And now my head shall be lifted
up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in his
tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD”(Ps. 27:6). You are safe from
all types of enemies.. God really does take care of his children!
 In the secret place we are hidden from the schemes of man. “You shall hide them in
the secret place of your presence from the plots of man; you shall keep them secretly in
pavilion from the strife of tongues” (Ps. 31:20). People can say things, gossip, or criticize
but it doesn’t affect you are in the secret place of His presence.
 The secret place is a place of Joy. Psalms 16:11 says, “…in your presence is fullness of
joy...”You were made to be in his presence and that is where you will have joy and can
be completed!
 There is divine protection in the secret place. “He who dwells in the secret place of the
most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.. You shall not be afraid of the
terror by night or of the arrow that files by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in
darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday’ (Ps. 91:1, 5-6). This is where
we began yesterday. This is a promise for those who make it a life style to live there!
 There is an invitation being offered to you. It is an invitation to come into the “ secret
place” with the king of kings and lord of lords! Make that a daily practice. It will change
your life…. For all eternity!
Mathew 14:22-34
22 “immediately after this, Jesus made his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other
side of the lake while he sent the people home. 23 afterward he went up into the hills by himself
to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. 24 meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away
from land, for a strong wind had raised, and they were fighting heavy waves. 25 about three
o’clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the water. 26 when the disciples saw
him, they screamed in terror, thinking he was a ghost. 27 but Jesus spoke to them at once. “it’s
all right, “ he said. “ I am here! Don’t be afraid.” 28 then peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really
you, tell me to come to you by walking on water.”29”All right, come, ”Jesus reached out his
hand and grabbed him .”You don’t have much faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” 32
And when they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped. 33 then the disciples worshiped
him. “You really are the son of God? “They exclaimed. 34 after they had crossed the lake, they
landed at Gennesaret.”

Have you ever felt like God just wasn’t there? Maybe you were hurting, lost a job, felt
discouraged, or were facing a difficult task. As a Christian, I believe all of us face those days.
The disciples also faced a day like that. They had just seen Jesus perform a huge miracle of
feeding 5,000 people. Their spirits were lifted. They were encouraged and had experienced such
a faith build up in their soul. However, Jesus knew that it was time to build their faith in a totally
different way.22 “immediately after this Jesus made lake while he sent the people home.”
You see, immediately after the disciples saw the faithfulness of the lord in the lives of others, it
was time for them to experience it for themselves. Verse 24 says, “Meanwhile, the disciplines
were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy
waves.”
At time there are ‘storms’ or hard time which comes into our lives. These storms seen like heavy
waves and strong winds. We feel as if we will never get to shore because all of our energy is put
into fighting the storm. How can we continue to go on when we try to do it on our own?
Verses 25 and 27 states, “about three o’clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the
water.” “But Jesus spoke to them at once. “It’s all right,” he said. “I am here! Don’t be afraid.”
Have you ever stayed awake until 3:00 am you know exactly how physically exhausting can be.
Just imagine fighting a storm until 3:00am. The disciples were probably at the point of giving up
when all of a sudden; their savior came walking on water!
He didn’t leave them on the boat to face the storm alone. Even though it seemed impossible, he
found a way to get to them. In your time of need, he will find a way to get you! You see, He
doesn’t want you to face storm alone. Jesus can and will find a way! Verse 32 “And when they
climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.”
Have you asked the lord to help you and climb into your boat with you? You see, it wasn’t until
Jesus entered their boat that the wind stopped! Jesus not only controls the wind and the waves,
but he will also give you peace in your heart when you let Him lead you to shore.
Prayer: Jesus, I thank you that I can turn to you in a time of storm or difficulty. I ask that you
will walk with me during tough times. Help me to understand that you are always there for me
even though I may not see it. Thank you for being in control of EVERYTHING in my life.
Thank you that we don’t have to go through tough time all alone.

but the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate,
submissive, full of mercy &good fruit, impartial and sincere.
James 3:17.
James 1:5 “if you need wisdom ...if you want to know what God wants you to do…..ask him and
He will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.”
As Christians, one of our greatest desires should be to know God’s voice and obey without delay.
This verse tells us that all we must do is ask him if we seek wisdom or we need to know his will
and expect him to answer. Sometimes the problem we find in discerning his voice is He either
speaks to us what we hoped not to hear or his answer is beyond our understanding.

Unfortunately, this struggle is one we find ourselves in all too often. In the end, we are disgusted
with our selves for either adding to /taking away from His answer to bring comfort and
comprehension or ignoring what He spoke altogether because we were unable to understand how
his answer would work. Through these errors we learn to simplify, embrace his word from the
beginning whether we like them or not and whether we fully understand or not
We are told in proverbs 3:5 to “trust in the lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own
understanding.” This includes trusting his voice. His wisdom and his answer above what we are
able to explain and understand. The most exciting part of the verse in James is that God will
gladly tell us and not resent us for asking. This means he wants us to know his will! God’s spirit
lives within us, giving us a direct connection to his voice May we boldly seek to know his will
and trust him without hesitation and obey without delay.

TRUST IN THE LORD

By Esther

If someone were to ask you what your favorite verse in the Bible is, what you say. I know what I
would say ……………………… proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and
lean not on your own understandings, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
your paths.”(NKJ)

I was 10 years old when I made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ and began my journey to
get to know God better by going to church, praying and reading my Bible. Throughout my life,
this verse has always made an impression on me. In fact, I call it my “life verse “because it has
been almost like a motto for my life. When I was younger, I never really understood why this
verse would be so important for me to know, but I often thought about it. l even sang the verse
[when no one was around] it wasn’t until my friend passed away that l began to understand why
god wanted me to know this verse………and not just know it but to live it. My one and only true
friend were born with severe heart problems. He had heart surgery when he was only 3 months
old and developed many complications and infections while in the hospital. The heart surgery
did not work as the doctors expected. He was going to die unless God did a miracle. Many times
he comes close to death but each time God would come to rescue and we would see
improvement…….. But then he would get worse. The doctors were amazed at how many
obstacles he overcame and how he was such a fighter. I know the reason why my friend lived as
long as he did; it was because of the prayers that were going up to heaven for him.

I was convinced that God was going to heal him completely and give him a new heart. I did not
know how and when but believed that it would happen. But in the end things did not turn out the
way I thought they would. On February 7 th/2017 at the age of 14 when we were going to join
secondary school, he went home to live with Jesus.

Even though I believed with all my heart that God was going to heal my friend Norman, I often
heard the voice of God speak this verse to me to trust in the lord and lean not on my
understanding.

I can’t explain why some times God heals people on earth and other times he chooses to heal
them in heaven. Some might say if only we had enough faith, Norman would have been healed.
I don’t believe this is true. We prayed for several people while we were in the hospital and every
one of them were healed. The truth of the matter is God did heal Norman. He has a new heart in
heaven and is completely healthy and whole. He is no longer suffering or in pain. Because I have
Jesus Christ in my heart, one day I will get to see him again and spend eternity with him. Praise
the Lord!!!

As in Matthew 9: 18 as Jesus was speaking to the followers of John about fasting there came the
leaders and requested them to go and lay his hands on his dead daughter then she would
resurrect.

Finally on verse 25 when all people had moved out, Jesus pulled that girl’s hand and she stood.
All these happened because her parents had trust in the Lord.
