RESOLUTION OF THE
WINNEMUCCA INDIAN COLONY
WINNEMUCCA, NEVADA

WHEREAS, the Winnemucca Indian Colony is organized in accordance with Section
16 of the Indian Reorganization Act ·of June 18, 1934, and federally
recognized by the United States Government; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs has P.L. 93-638 Indian Self-Determination
Grants and Contracts to provide law enforcement and judicial services
to Indian Tribes; and
WHEREAS, the Winnemucca Indian Colony tribal members have a need for judicial
~ervices for offenses, both civil and criminal, committed within
the external boundaries of the Winnemucca Indian Colony; and
WHEREAS, the Fort McDermitt Paiute/Shoshone Tribe has submitted a request for
a Judicial Services Contract with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for
FY 87; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chairman, or in his absence, the Vice-
Chairman of the Fort McDermitt Tribal Council be authorized to execute
the contract or amendments thereto, for the duration of the contract
period and to negotiate necessary modifications and renewals of
future contracts until contract is closed; and
