Who am I now?

1. Describe a hobby or interest, either in school or outside of school, that you have spent time
developing this year. (Some examples: gaming, art, music, dance, writing, photography,
construction, building engines, hunting, having your own YouTube channel, etc. )
Plant husbandry and gardening. The practice of planting/ raising specified plants in a
maintained environment.

2. What do you like about this particular hobby or interest?

This hobby exercises a level of specialized information and knowledge acquired and
maintained for one purpose. This hobby makes an excellent side project do to the nature of
plant growth.

3. What kinds of skills have you developed or practiced via this hobby/interest?
Patience, plants require consistent and constant care to live. Basic deduction, by observing
a plant’s health and behavior, one can draw conclusions of nature/health trends.

4. How has this hobby or interest challenged you to grow?

It forces you to increase your knowledge of whatever new plant you plan to grow or care
for. In other words, it helps me maintain a student like sincerity outside of school.

5. If someone else told you they were interested in pursuing the same hobby or interest, what
advice would you give them?
I would tell this person the acquire and study some good gardening and plant husbandry
books for the fundamentals and vocabulary. Because without a working knowledge, they
would likely kill a plant in a discouraging manner.

6. What connections can you make between this hobby/interest and the life you want to have for
yourself in the future? In other words, do you see this hobby or interest continuing? Is it related
to any career interests? Ten years from now, do you think you’ll still be engaged in this hobby or
interest? Explain.
This hobby will also find a place in my excessive free time. I enjoy it, but by no means
require it. I don’t desire a career in this hobby because that would defeat the purpose of a
