Suggested Work for Second Class Pupils

Term 3: Week 2, Day 3

 Watch Cúla4 ar Scoil on TG4 at 10:00am -10:30am


 Watch RTE2 Home School Hub: 11am - 12noon.
There is a Gymnastics lesson today, which you might like to join in with.

 Spell Well: Week 32 pg. 66 Box 103 + Exercise p66(A) & p67 (D)
 Read at Home: Week 26, pg. 103 ‘Smelly Wellie Jelly’. Please answer Check-Up Questions orally.
 Handwriting:’ Go With The Flow C’ Text Book pg. 42 – practise writing ‘ bl’ and ‘cl’ words. A
reminder that you can find additional handwriting activities/games for ‘Go with the Flow C’, along with

 Tables: Please revise some of your Add 3 and Subtract 3 Tables in pairs, as you practised them last week
(9+3=12/12-3=9, 10+3=13/13-3=10, 11+3=14/14-3=11, 12+3=15/15-3=12 )

 Maths Shadow Book: ‘Weight’ All pg.33
 Practical activity using Weight:
1kg = 1000g 1/2 kg = 500g 1/4kg = 250g
Chocolate Biscuit Cake
170g (grammes) butter
150g milk chocolate
100g golden syrup
200g Rich Tea biscuits (not crushed, but broken into very small pieces)
Place the first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Place the bowl in a saucepan of steaming water and allow the
ingredients to melt together slowly. Please ask an adult to help you with this part. Don’t let any water
into the bowl with the ingredients. When everything is melted, stir it together and then add the broken
biscuit pieces. Stir and stir until all the biscuit pieces are covered with the mixture. Cover a cake tin with
parchment paper, then spoon the mixture into it. Press it down firmly into the tin with the back of a
spoon. Put the tin in the fridge and wait for 3 hours. Cut it up into small squares and enjoy…don’t forget
to share!!

 Weaving Well-Being Journal: On p11 please record your 3 Acts of Kindness for Day 3. Colour in a lightbulb
for each kind deed you do.
 Mindfulness Activity: You Tube ‘Cosmic Kids Yoga – Guided Relaxation for Kids – to help us let go of our
worries’.

 Art: Continue decorating your flower pot. Think about what you would like to sow in it when it’s finished.

 Remember: Daily Diary, Life Skills and Read for Pleasure –everyday, if you can.
 Keep safe!
